Walked at least a mile, every day this week, no excuses.

I’m 62 and I want to still be able to hike, dance, and play music when I’m 80. Also, I slipped down a slope (a real-live slippery slope, not just a metaphorical one) on a hike a few months ago, and into a creek, and it was WAY too difficult to scramble back up. I need to be more agile to do what I like to do. Or else be…

Thanks for the insight and encouragement. I’m trying to establish a morning routine that includes exercise, for now, walking, which I enjoy. And three meals a day built around veggies, grain of some sort, and a protein. I also like that. It all seems to work fine if routine is not disrupted. I’d like to learn how to “roll…

1350 calories; 4 pounds one month; 8 pounds two months; exercise walking, even if only around the block—something at least— sometimes more vigorous walking. I like to hike. (Those 8 pounds are the equivalent of a gallon of milk that I don’t have to haul up the hills, so hiking is easier lately. )

Make 5 hard boiled eggs on Sunday night, put them in a bowl in the refrigerator, already peeled, eat 1 or two the following weekday mornings, with a packet of plain instant oatmeal (though maybe the latter won’t pass the Mom test, but it’s cheap, quick, doesn’t require dirtying a pan, and will keep you full until noon).…

My daughter told me to go buy a new pair of pants, that fit, for goodness sake.

Hiked to the top of (admittedly tiny) Mt Moosalamoo and back down again, and lived to tell about it.

For the next 7 days, get a start on making exercise part of the morning routine by doing something every day for 20 minutes, even if it’s just dancing around the living room or walking around the block. Eventually I’d like to run every morning, like I used to years ago, but can’t run yet and am not yet in the habit of…

I’m 62, down 25, 10 more to go until “normal” BMI. A bean, a green, and a grain strategy for meal planning. I feel so much more like myself lately, it’s hard to explain, but a pretty great feeling. Glad to have company here, fight firrcely ladies! Keep after it, it’ll happen.

Resolved to walk 30 minutes in the morning and actually did it! It helps to pretend I have a dog that needs the exercise. So I’ve logged it as “walking pretend dog-30 min.” Whatever works!

Stayed on track logging, and below quota, despite a three day road trip in the car.

Fit in my old size 14 office panrs for the first time in years. Fun to wear something less baggy!
