Seems interesting that the study is sponsored by the dairy association.

Add me! I'm pretty active on here these days. Or at least when it's slow at work. :)
-
Went on a "date" a couple weeks ago. We had some food and drinks and saw a concert. Then went to "meet up with friends" who turned out to be all girl friends, some of which I'm pretty sure wished they were on a date with him. Kiiinda awkward.
-
That looks amazing! I had a similar ice cream sandwich yesterday and half of it I estimated at 300 calories.
-
I guess I never thought of it that way as far as my goal being at the bottom of the range and therefore it might be slower. Thanks for the link too!

The app has me at 1200 calories a day. :(
-
Kinda hungry even though I just had lunch. Which in turn kind of makes me sad bc this process is so slow.
-
Holy cow! 700 cals for breakfast?! Do you still lose weight or are you just maintaining? Do you eat less later in the day then?
-
Ok so that is why I am so hungry. I have only been having 150-200 cals at bfast if I even eat at all. It amazes me that some people have so much more and still lose weight!

I'm so glad someone asked this! I was going to post something similar until my connection timed out. I feel that tracking calories using apps is a VERY slippery slope. And though I am using MFP I give myself "grace" by simply not telling the app everything. Like yesterday I had a banana (among other things) and I didn't…

Hang out with the kiddos!

What is MPL? At you height and weight 1300 cals a day is pretty low. That's prob why you're losing so fast.
-
Ughh but it's sooo slowwwww. Fiiine.
-
Ok so it sounds like I'm just impatient and need to wait longer. And keep to the plan. CICO, right?

I'm 140 (which seems to be my body's set point) and I want to get to 125. So 15 lbs. I'm 5'7". I'm almost 40 and weight loss just seems to be more elusive than it was.
-
Best to you! That's the right attitude to have. :D How much weight do you have to lose?
-
Love it! Acai bowls.

Ohh interesting! I never thought that I could be lactose intolerant bc I never get pain when I eat dairy. But that makes sense that maybe my system isn't set up for it and though I'm not in pain maybe the bloating still happens. Is there a supplement you can take to get more lactase?
-
It's been about 2-3 weeks. But I was used to losing a lb a day for years when I'd first start dieting.
-
Also, by keeping it off I meant I could keep it off for several years until something happened like stress and then I'd gain back. My low weight is 120, the highest I've been is 160. On average I'm 130-145. If I don't diet at all and eat whatever I want I stay around 140. I just notice that now I'm kind of "thin-fat" these…

I was able to lose a pound a day for most of my life. Not really in the way that you described, but close. Now I can lose a pound the first two days and then the next several weeks it's only about a pound a week. I know this is "normal" but it just doesn't seem efficient. Granted I don't have a lot to lose. I'm 140 now at…

But does dairy actually cause bloating or is it in my head? I'm the only one in my family who is NOT lactose intolerant and dairy is my go to food. Just wondering why the weight is moving.

Do 20-30 mins of walking on the treadmill or doing the elliptical. You'll maintain with this.

Try fasting for a day or two. Either a straight fast or a light juice fast.

Blogilates on youtube has lots of great videos and some specific to cardio and belly fat.

I fast once a week, usually on Mondays to make up for inevitable higher calories on the weekend.
