  • 28 miles done.. I could keep going, but a sore bum is to biking as a missing shoe is to walking. You can still do both, but it's not comfortable. Better padded bike shorts are on my mind.
  • I used several flavours of onnit emulsified MCT oil, and sugar me science brand stuff which gave me an allergic reaction, and doubt either really did much besides add a new and unpleasant flavour. I already have coconut oil every day in my diet. For the price of the MCT oils, I can get a giant pack of protein drinks and…
  • I find that if I make sure I am under 30 total via the app throughout the day, I usually am under or at my 20 net goal when I check with the script on my pc. Most days I’ll end at 20-25 total unless I add in something like a different protein shake, some string cheese post workout, a yogurt, or a low carb treat. 5% ended…
  • Yeah this feeling is something I haven’t missed for the past 4 months. Like waking up with a hangover. I’d assume I’d feel worse, but I got a hard push anaerobic 30 minutes in last night. Today was gonna be the last of my carb days to be normal for the holiday.. but I can’t do it. My fat is melting and I have a muscle milk…
  • I tried 85% and 70%, and found 85 just too bitter. If using a keto sweetener, it might work. 75% was fine once you got used to it. Just at the edge point, but still decent.
  • I have not been as hungry since starting keto as I have been today. I constantly have felt hungry all day.. Ravenous as times.. I've eaten a ton of protein and fat.. but carbs and sugar I think are the culprit. Can't wait to get back to keto-normal tomorrow/saturday. I feel like I used to, where 3,000-4,000 calories of…
  • Hopefully the answer isn't "Well I work on this research base off the coast of Costa Rica, where this new animal we've engineered is being tested on a ketogenic diet of high human fat and protein". Anywho, I've asked this same question, mainly to make sure I wasn't going to ruin months of work for the sake of holiday…
  • I was never a big fan of thanksgiving. Just too much stress and emotions out on a single day. I enjoy seeing people but wish people would just do something more often than this late in a year. Sadly, now thanksgiving is the anniversary of my brother dying. This means some years the anniversary is thanksgiving day.. For…

  • Always check nutritional labels! Then, make the determination if the total carbs are worth it to add to your diet for the day. https://old.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/2era8q/is_matcha_keto_friendly/ According to this thread on /r/keto, it seems to be somewhat keto friendly.…
  • Most "keto" tagged products seem to be a ripoff.. It's like low carb plus a 50% markup. I use vitamins like D3 since I know I get SAD each year and 4000IU brings me back to normal, a multivitamin, fish oil if I'm not eating actual fish that week, mag, potassium. If I notice I'm getting an extended deficit of anything…
  • A good tailor's tape, time, a scale, and persistence are going to be your best friends, months later. Just stick with it. The sticking with it part seems to be the hardest thing to do.
  • Started Keto: July 18 Starting Weight: 174kg/383.6lbs Sunday 10/28: 148.4kg/327.2lbs Goal Weight: 78.5kg/173lbs Sunday 11/04: 146.14kg/322.2lbs Sunday 11/11: 144.24kg/318lbs Sunday 11/18: 144.3kg /318.2lbs Sunday 11/25 Today's Weight: 143.78kg/317lbs Not too concerned over the weight today. Was at 142.8kg earlier in the…
  • Yeah I think the activity portion was the key. I was still on the bike busting my butt for these 2 days of carbs. It was a noticeable difference on my ride today.. felt like crap around mile 11. For me, Keto biking is more like a slow burn that just keeps on going. Just endurance for days. This felt like carb exhaustion.…
  • Quest protein chips are pretty dang good. I haven't had chips in ages. These hit the spot. Sort of taste like a goldfish cracker in consistency, with a decent nacho cheese taste. I was never a chip person, but a bag of these really helps me feel normal, and normal is something I can do for years and years, which is my…
  • Check labels, estimate the best you can, just not much to be done if you can't see a serving nutritional info card. MFP's database does have a good range of foods to go from, if you need to try and find something similar. At least entering that plus the serving size, say a cup, 10oz, etc, can help. It's something at least.…
  • I stopped using them entirely after a bit over a week of them showing full results consistently, and then feeling like I was in ketosis with smaller results showing on the stick. Just seemed like a waste to keep using them after a few weeks of sticking to the diet. Months later, no regrets. I found my old bottle and…
  • Started Keto: July 18 Starting Weight: 174kg/383.6lbs Sunday 10/28: 148.4kg/327.2lbs Goal Weight: 78.5kg/173lbs Sunday 11/04: 146.14kg/322.2lbs Sunday 11/11: 144.24kg/318lbs Sunday 11/18 Sunday 11/25 Today's Weight: 143.78kg/317lbs Comparing 18 July to now.. it's night and day. I was starving at 2,676 calories and starting…
  • Lose 8kg(17lbs) more by New Year's Day. Lose 65kg (144lbs) more total. Stop before that if I find I am at the healthiest weight for my frame. My 2019 goal weight is 102kg(225lbs). If I hit my NYD goal weight, that would give me a year to lose 33.5kg(74lbs), which I think is possibly doable with Keto, CICO, and doing 300…
  • On /r/keto on the side bar there's a MFP tampermonkey script that adds net carbs to my table. I generally use that for my reference. https://old.reddit.com/r/keto/ Git link: https://github.com/Surye/mfp-keto-userscript Obviously this won't work/show on the app, but for desktop it's just fine.
  • Is it really day 121 for me? 50 days and 8.6kg (19lbs) left until my yearly goal. Hope everyone else is having success and hitting their macros!
  • Good luck on your journey! I hope you will stick with MFP and/or the goal you've set yourself. I know that it can seem daunting losing the triple digits. Still working on that myself. But as today is day 120 of tracking everything via MFP, and day 118 keto, I know it's doable if you can find what works and stick with it.
  • Ugh, ketoflu. That was the worst and I dropped weight way too fast, probably to a dangerous level, before figuring out I could use powerade zero. 3 days of those got me through that and never had an issue like that since. Pretty sure that was mostly severe dehydration and nutrient loss. Turns out, the water-per-kg ratio is…
  • I’ve stuck with keto and keeping 20-25 carbs a day since I started. The situations like the holidays coming up are something I am dreading going through , since I have no idea what eating a normal, much less thanksgiving dinner is gonna he like. As far as I know, I haven’t had enough carbs to leave ketosis in any major way…
  • New to the group, not to MFP. Started in July at 173kg (383lbs), but I figure my true highest weight was around 180kg (396ish) last winter. Current weight: 146kg (322lbs) Year's End Goal Weight: 135kg (299lbs) Overall Goal Weight: 78kg (173lbs) Keto day 112 or 113, I've lost count tbh. I started tracking CICO at the start,…
  • Hello past me, it’s present me. 57 days left, 23 more pounds. Good luck to future me and everyone else on their journey! (I was doing until New Year’s Day)
  • Blue. I miss the sun. I'm very much a child of spring and summer.
  • The website shows the 1 pound of wings at 790 calories. A 10 piece boneless comes in at 1060 calories. Are you sure you selected the right entry? MFP is great, but there are a bunch of incorrect entries to sort through. https://www.stlouiswings.com/menu/wings/ Maybe the listing is for the 1lb wings with another sauce?
  • Being able to do 5 years of maintenance seems like a fantasy for me. Then again, 101 days ago sticking to a diet seemed like one too. I can't wait to hit my goal weight and start that maintaining cycle. I figure I have 1-2 more years (conservatively and cautiously) to lose the weight, and then a lifetime to keep it off.
  • Started mid-July, 55lbs down. Really nice to see others doing so well! Good luck to everyone else!
