It counts steps but if I don’t tell it that I’m in the elliptical it doesn’t count it as exercise, just steps. So I added it to the exercises that show up on my Fitbit device and can tell it right from the watch face that I’m doing a workout when I start. Otherwise I just add it under exercise.
