@sijomial cheers I have just joined

All these lockdowns and restrictions have been tough. Running is certainly a great way to exercise but also relieve some of the stresses that everyone is going through

I also have a pair of Jabra Elite (65t I think). I agree the sound is really great on them. They are not stable enough in my ear for me to trust working out in them, but that is not what they are designed for either though

Hi cool to see a cycling challenge group. So far this year I am on 97km (60miles) and 753m (2500ft) climbing Target is to maintain around 100km per week through January while I am on Zwift

Add some garlic and 😋

If it works for you and you enjoy it then that’s great keep doing it. I think the MFP guide burn rate is on the generous side for most activities but clearly you have things under control. Keep attacking those stairs 💪

definite yes from me. I workout 5days per week (weekdays) and then “rest” at the weekends. By rest I mean no workouts so light exercise (walking dog etc is ok). I can see from my watch that during the week my resting HR rises and then resets over the weekend. This is an indicator that the body is being stressed. It is also…

Welcome back. Also recently back here

Simple energy consumption says that if you put less fuel in than you use then the body will compensate by using fat stores. Most people when they are eating processed foods do not calculate the actual consumption properly so are actually getting more calories than they think. Likewise as you lose weight your metabolic rate…

I’m strict on my rest days at weekends so I can spend time with the family. I do suffer from feeling really lazy though.

Good luck. Agree being on the experienced side of 40 makes shifting those unwanted pounds harder than it used to be

I also have them but only use when traveling. Simply awesome on planes

Stress impacts everyone differently, I also lose appetite when I am stressed, but thankfully I am not someone that suffers from stress badly. Best advice I can offer is talk to someone about handling the stress (therapy/counseling). The fact that you recognize the issue is positive. While you can take steps to deal with…

Connections that are active in posting and commenting. I don’t get a lot of positive reinforcement at home so just a ‘good job’ can be enough or sometimes ‘you can do better’

Go for it. Here a link to GCN on YouTube intro to riding 100miles. https://youtu.be/JTedBw7xlSs They have loads of training information and general cycling stuff
-
Thanks will give it a go

I've done long endurance rides (300km) and am really careful about hydration as well as electrolytes. I can give you an example there is a steep 20% descent I go down. Try and run down and at the bottom my legs will cramp. Walk down, no cramp
-
Personally I'd take an extra couple of km of the treadmill and have a beer.

Similar story lost a load and last year but haven’t been able to move the needle in the right direction since stopping MFP last year Now looking to get the last 30Ibs off
-
I’ll send you a request. Looking to smash those goals and also a road cyclist
