Week #5 check in (8/27-9/2) Days on or under calorie target : 6/7 days +/- Weekly calorie target (14,468) : -320 (-2.2%) Total lbs lost/goal : 12/50 (24%) I did blow out the calorie target on Sunday pretty bad, but I went to a friend's retirement party (39 years @ Boeing), so I ended up throwing caution to the wind for a…

Welcome! Not currently active, but ex-Navy. Thanks for making the commitment & dedication.

@seatownbibti I finally snagged some of the lemon curd Ellenos.....oh my goodness. I hate you now.

USN. 93-98 Airframes/Corrosion Control mech on EA-6Bs RIMPAC & 2 WESTPACs in support of Southern Watch.

Humidity sucks.

I think today may end up being the first day in a month I've been tracking that I'm likely to blow out my calorie allotment by >10%. I guess 1 day a month isn't too bad for starters.

Awesome!

Welcome to the nuthouse! :D

I admire your dedication. I can't force myself to go to gyms or treadmills. This winter will be interesting...hopefully I can stay focused enough to get on the bike (have a mag trainer for indoors) when it gets too miserable outside. I ended up hiking Saturday morning in the drizzly rain the PNW is famous for. The rain…

Anyone monkey around in FFXIV? I'm half tempted to check it out for the hell of it.

Made it through vacation without going the wrong way! 10 down. 30 to re-evaluation. 40 to tentative goal.

Discworld books were a lot of fun. One of the local B&N employees turned me onto the series after picking up a couple Xanth novels from Piers Anthony.

Being interactive in these forums has been a big help for me as well. 15 days in and it doesn't feel like too much hassle...yet.
-
Used to play D&D. Haven't had a group in a few years though. :disappointed:
-
Thread bump! Day 2 of vacation. Still on track...barely.

Dragons rock. I actually have a bunch of the old Windstone Edition Pena dragons. They are currently still boxed up from the move right now though.

Morning peeps! Continuing the travel day today. I had some time to spare, so I opted to walk from Concourse A to Concourse D to get in some free steps rather than taking the tram or moving walkways. I needed it after being jammed in a plane seat for 4.5 hours cross-country.

Morning peeps! Hope everyone is staying motivated. Got a busy day today. Housecleaning, dump/recycle run, company picnic, buddy's birthday bbq, and need to pack for the upcoming vacation. Today's a new day. Get after it!

Morning all! It's supposed to rain here today, perfect for the planned company picnic and my buddy's birthday bbq. Doh! Ah well, we need it. I don't think we've had any rain for a good month now. Welcome! Just bookmark this thread and hangout.

Sometimes. Usually at least long enough to see what was posted.

Amen to that, going to be doubly tough this weekend, followed by 11 days of further struggle. Company picnic & friends b-day BBQ tomorrow. Car show @ a brewery on Sunday afternoon. Then I'm off to visit the folks in TN for a week and a half where I know there is going to be even more BBQ and non-stop food. I already know…

I should've never come in here.....now I'm thinking I'd like a telescope some day.

Sometimes we get the cookies & doughnuts. But more times than not it's the home smoked salmon (& spreads), crackers, cheese, & home pickled items (pickles, asparagus, etc). Not big into pickled foods, but I have a soft spot for cheese. So the cheese & crackers (w/ smoked fish) can get me in trouble if I'm not careful.…

Being around people w/ like goals or at least similar hobbies/lifestyles can make it easier to keep your head in the game. Whether it's in person or on a forum, your mind is continually thinking about it. I've never cared enough to do anything about my weight before. I've been doing a bit of hiking this summer as work has…

Love cinnamon. Lately one of my go to coffees is an Americano w/ white chocolate, little creamer, with cinnamon & nutmeg. Awesome sipper while enjoying a good book.
-
Ended up walking an extra lap around the lake extending my hike out from just over 2.5 miles to over 5. Another day under my allowable limit...and even got to have a drink w/ dinner and an ice cream sandwich a bit later as a late night snack. Only a week in. A little down and a lot more to go yet.
-
Yup! I've seen Ellenos at my Haggen's down the street. Have to pick some up and try it out. Thanks @seatownbibti

I'm working along a similar timeline (40-50 by next summer). I'll probably follow here for continued motivation. Ultimately I'll get there when I get there if I can make the lifestyle changes, but a target to shoot for never hurts. @seatownbibti What is the lemon curd yogurt? I'm a sucker for the citrus based yogurts,…

"Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory...lasts forever." Bonus points if you know where it's from. ;) But in all seriousness, head injuries are no bueno.

Yep, I got the same speech. Twice as long, never as strong.
