Yet you prove the point that was made..... We are not saying everyone requires the same caloric intake. The person eating like a bird and gaining weight requires less intake than the skinny person who eats a lot. The "exception" is the metabolism, not CICO.

I would give Father Jack's reply, but with my luck someone would report it for worse than it is, and I'd get in trouble.

I prefer the Irish swearing... That is, "Father Ted" style.... :D

There are spice blends that work as great salt substitutes. I like Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute. Obviously, it doesn't work like salt, but it helps cut the need for seasoning and the salt shaker. TJ's also has a very low sodium salsa and jar tomato sauce. Good short-cut items to have in the pantry. Not saying you can't…

The slice size must have shrunk in the last 5-10 years. I am certain a slice of the cinnabon cheesecake was over 3000 calories. Now it's less than half that. and a Monte Cristo is over 1800 calories. That and a slice is well over 3000 calories, huge for one meal, not counting fries - pushing that one meal to 4000.

I've had similar stalls, even weighing my food, but it's still a good idea to do it. Accuracy helps make sure you are getting what you think. Just don't let the stall get to you. It's perfectly normal.

Shiritaki pasta is great low calorie bulk, but unfortunately it isn't as cheap as you'd probably like. Figuring $1/serving, you can have that as your base, and I make Ratatouille with a little Italian chicken sausage for flavor and I can get a very filling meal for under 200 calories. When the season is at it's peak,…

The closer you get to your goal. the smaller the caloric intake becomes to lose weight. When I started here, I could eat 1900 calories and lose 1.5 lbs a week. Now, for the same 1.5 lbs I'm at 1500. That's a huge difference. So, either you eat more and lose slower, or you eat less and feel hungrier. Either way it becomes…

There are quite a few Thai and Indian entries in the database, not always for the exact place or the exact dish. Especially if it's infrequent visits then you can definitely get away with approximating based on that. I tend to average based on the closest dish at the closest type of restaurant with similar portions. Many…

(Sorry, couldn't resist... ) Hi and welcome!

Hi! Normally this is an active group, but sometimes life comes up and pulls us away. Can't promise quick answers from me, but I try to visit when I can.

I sure as heck did. Gonna be busy for a month or so. Work ramped up.

Muffin tops are the best part of the muffin. Kenny Kramer (portrayed by the name Cosmo Kramer on Seinfeld) actually did try to sell just muffin tops at one point in time.

Well, if you like poaching fish in wine, here's some advice around 2:05 in this clip.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHAMjsNMQLo hope you find it helpful

Quick: takes 2 things. 1) less calories in to create a caloric deficit at rest 2) more exercise Increase the calories you burn, and it increases the effect of the deficit. Ultimately, an expert would have to say with exercise what is the maximum safe deficit, since there are minimum intakes you need for your body to be…

I found the article shameful. As someone who was large the most of last half of my life so far I never took pity on myself when I had to wait because only a booth was available and I wouldn't fit. I flew in planes, and I had the fortune of never needing a second seat, but if I did I was prepared to pay for it. It is not…

Good Night!

Hi. How are you doing?

Good Morning everyone... OK. This is just weird. Barely 1 page of activity in 24 hours. I'm use to coming in and wading through 3-4 pages between the afternoon and evening. Is everyone having connection issues? I certainly did yesterday, but this has been going on for a few days now.

ok. This has been silent for a while. I appreciate the first recipe, but I would really like a crust recipe as well. Is it normal to use a combination shortcrust and puff? Any additional recipes would be greatly appreciated

Me too.

Good morning... What the heck is going on here? so quiet the past few days. Nothing to catch up on

I have had ups and downs from time to time. I am currently at a wall. I took a couple month break with no loss, and resumed in the start of January. I am losing a lot slower than I expected, but that could be due to how close I have gotten. The last month I have progressed only 1 lb. I will agree with most of the comments…

Good Morning Pizza Pringle! ;)

I keep getting pulled onto other projects. Luckily I automated a bunch of my tests, so I can sit back and get a lot done while peeking in here from time to time.
