when i was diagnosed, my doctor referred me to a registered dietician...he literally said 'i know dick about nutrition, it's not what i went to school for'...and they recommended under 190 carbs/day, about 40% of my calories. but to cut out the processed carbs.

i'm a sucker for their fish sammiches. i realize they aren't good...they are like those oval shaped chicken sammiches at burger king to me..horrible and delicious.

ketosis scares the fudge out of me, as my young son is type 1 and ketosis means he may lose even more weight than he already has. poor kid.

i feel/felt much anger and self loathing. i understand, fwiw. if you're lazy, as i was, can you just start small? like a walk around the block every day? anything is better than nothing. i started so small it's embarrassing, but found that it actually gave me more energy to do more. best of luck.

i have a protein shake and an apple, usually. but it's august and the peaches are frakking awesome right now so it's a protein shake and a peach. then i have breakfast about an hour later (i work out at 5AM)

yep, when you start new strength training you often gain a bit of water weight. it's temporary.
