  • "• Chewy Nerds snacks (300-400 calories). I can't in good conscience let this go past without pointing out to readers who might emulate it that allotting more than 20% of your calories day after day to something that offers only calories, no protein, EFAs, fiber, vitamins, or minerals, when you are limiting yourself to the…
  • It has taken slightly over a year but i have finally reached my goal weight. I found it extremely difficult to tick those few extra pounds off but it is off. Now to maintain and keep it off! 😀
  • I broke myself of this habit early on by introducing beef jerky. 1 or 2 pieces helped kick those hunger cravings in bed. And I was probably the worse one here for snacking in bed.
  • This has been difficult for me as our house is always very well stocked for the Super Bowl. This year? Not too interested in the game but everyone is coming over so I have to do something for a spread. Stromboli perhaps with low cal turkey & chicken within a lower cal/carb homemade dough is what I'm thinking. I've made…
  • I fast from 7pm-noon and have done this for 6 months now. It seems to really help in shedding weight. It takes some getting used to but once you are in the routine...easy peasy.
  • It's amazing scrolling through everyone's meals. What works for some would definietly not work with me. Breakfast: I fast from 7pm-12pm. Lunch (typical workday): 1/4 of a low cal wrap filled w/ 2-3 ounces of sliced turkey breast and 1 slice of swiss. 2 hard boiled egg whites, 12 olives and 1/2 cup of cut green beans. My…
  • 61 pounds officially lost today and I'm officially in the 180s weight division! Woohoo. After a slight weight uptick after the holiday seasons, I took it back off and am steadily heading downhill. Feels nice to be back in 32" Levi's, I haven't been there in over 20 years.
  • How about having the new you sitting in your vehicle, which are still contorted to your old body? Through my weight loss, my tail bone has no more fat protection. Said tail bone has discovered that it can uncomfortably find and feel the metal frame work in my truck seats, that my once larger frame squished down a bit. Time…
  • I make everything a “mental game” with life changing detours. I quit smoking years ago by telling myself that cigarettes were foul, disgusting smelling things (they actually are though  ). I quit cold turkey with no issues because I had set myself up mentally. The smell actually turned my stomach. But I gained 80…
  • Awesome job, Mex!!! Keep it up!
  • The dreaded Halloween candy! I'll reduce my calories slightly for lunch & dinner to anticipate those, um..."candy inspections". I'm getting good with the candy as I stay away from 240+ calorie candy bars and opt instead for something like Good & Plenty's, which is 140 calories for 33 pieces. It takes me longer to eat 33…
  • Here is my daily regiment: Up at 6am but I don't eat until lunch (200-400 calories). I'll grab a snack around 2pm (100 calories or so) I then eat dinner around 5pm and try to keep it under 800 calories. It becomes easy once you've acclimated to it but I'll admit...it was difficult to adjust to for a month or so. When I…
  • Slowly....ever slowly I backed away. Took over 6 weeks but now I've gone to low carb, low calorie (60 cal) wraps. Definitely not the same as I soooo love bread.
  • With the app, I just stay within my calorie parameters. It was eye-opening to see just how many calories we were eating per day and we eat out every night. Looking back, it was 3k calories to as high as 4-5k/day. After a month in I noticed I was tuning into carb reductions as well, but bread...I LOVE bread :). 38 pounds in…
  • I was a horrible bedtime snacker and changing that routine was incredibly difficult. I solved this with beef jerky. If i got cravings...i allowed myself one piece of jerky and it worked for me to ween myself off from that habit.
