Christmas is the only day in December I don’t count calories and stick to my weight loss plan. One day won’t ruin anything, it’s when you treat the whole month and one long holiday that it becomes a problem. You just have to learn to say no. You can still go to all the holiday events without overindulging. You don’t have…

I usually have some scrambled eggs with - usually 2 eggs and some egg whites. I like a big breakfast, as it keeps me more satisfied throughout the day, so if I have the time in the morning I will add bacon and hash browns to the eggs. Sometimes I’ll do a spinach and tomato omelette cooked in a little bit of coconut oil.…

I would just enjoy the vacation. Be mindful of the choices you are making but stress about it and don’t deprive yourself.

I weigh myself every day. It keeps me on track with my weight loss. I’m not demotivated by the scale fluctuations, I know it’s just water. It’s just slightly annoying because it’s always nicer to see the scale go down.

Haha well my longest is 4. I only started running few months ago.

Awesome job! That’s great progress!

I really want to get into the 140s before the end of the year. I’m just 2 lbs away but I’m impatient!

20 lbs in 2 months with only about 40 lbs to lose isn’t a reasonable goal.

This isn’t necessarily true. Maybe if you have your weight loss goal set to 0.5 lb a week so your deficit is really small or you eat a lot of pre-packaged foods but I’ve lost 24 lbs so far and never weigh pre-packaged foods. More power to you if you do but you don’t have to to lose weight.

Do you use a food scale to weigh everything you’re eating? If not, it could be that your calories are off and you are actually eating more than you think. That said, +1.2 lbs could easily just be a weight fluctuation and not an accurate representation of your weight. A lot of different things can cause our weight to…

It’s only a 3-7% difference. I burned around 400 calories on my run yesterday. Accounting for the treadmill vs outdoor difference that’s only a 12-28 calorie difference. Hardly enough to say they aren’t close enough to say you can’t use the same entry for them. And if you bump the incline up to 1% there is not a…

It took me around 3 months to lose 21 lbs, losing an average of a little under 2 lbs a week. 10 lbs in 30 days is great but probably not sustainable. I lost 9 lbs my first month, then a little over 5 in month two and then 7 lbs in month three. Just keep at it, even when it slows the weight is still coming off. It will take…

I like a lot of PopSugarFitness’s videos on YouTube. They have a huge selection and a lot of variety so I’m sure you’d find something you like. If you want a bit more structure I used to pay $15 a month for Daily Burn and really loved their workouts. They had new workouts daily but also had a lot of different programs you…

I’ve lost 24 lbs in 3 months. I still drink diet soda - granted I’ve never been one to drink soda every day but I didn’t change my diet soda habits when I started trying to lose weight and it hasn’t impacted my ability to lose at all. Start counting your calories. Stick to a calorie goal that puts you in a deficit. If you…

I’ve been running for about 3 months now. While I have lost weight (24 lbs) that’s really been all about the diet. Yes, I can eat a bit more on my run days but I’m hungrier on those days because of the run. Running (for me) is more about overall health and being more active than it is about my weight loss.

I’m just starting out. In September I couldn’t even run 1 mile, I’ve worked my way up to 4! It’s not as impressive as people who have run much further distances but I’m very proud of it!

Unless the event is a sit-down dinner, I will eat beforehand and not eat anything while I’m there or just snack on some veggies. I avoid alcohol and just have water - even when joining my friends for drinks, I can still enjoy everyone’s company without having alcohol. Basically, I focus on the social aspect of the event…

Calories are more important than macros for weight loss. Your macros are more about nutrition and satiety. I focus on getting enough protein because I feel less hungry if my protein levels are higher but I’ll drop weight even if I eat loads of carbs for a week as long as I stick within my calorie range. Also, if you’ve…

Congrats on your success! Are the two less than thrilled people by chance a little bit heavier than you now? It seems like a lot of the time people become less supportive once someone trying to lose weight becomes skinner than them.

Fad diets don’t work for me. Anything extreme that involves cutting out entire food groups or doing anything too complicated just sets me up to fail. Diets like Keto work well for some people but others (like me) need to just keep things simple and easy. I only track calories (and exercise). No foods are “off-limits” or…

Pizza is just food. No food is “bad” - overeating/binging is bad, eating habits can be good or bad. Food is just food.

I’ve done Blue Apron in the past and they did list the calories on each recipe they sent you. I can’t remember if they offered low calorie menu options (and it could be something they added since then as this was a few years ago) but their dinners averaged around 700 per serving. I really liked Blue Apron and would keep…

Eating out or over at friend/family’s place can be challenging. Being mindful of portion sizes is probably the easiest way to keep it from getting off track. And don’t be afraid to say no to certain things - like dessert. If it’s not a sit-down dinner event then sometimes I won’t have anything or just snack on some veggies.

I don’t log on vacation. I’m mindful of what I eat and try to pick healthy options. Usually, I’m so active on vacations that I end up losing weight even without counting calories at all.

You don’t have to drink 8 cups of water a day. There’s no legitimate science behind that number. @cwolfman13 is correct - just pay attention to the color of your pee to make sure you are hydrated and anything more than that isn’t doing anything extra for you.
