What an *kitten*. I actually share quite a bit of my weight loss/fitness stuff on social media and have been lucky enough to be surrounded by positive, awesome people. I find posting on Instagram to be a really great part of my weight loss journey. I’d block him (or whatever you it is you do to make people go away on…

Almost every morning! I like a cup in the morning to start my day. I actually don’t feel like I need the caffeine that much, I just find it a delicious way to start the day. Iced coffee in the summer is my absolute favorite!

Veggie pizza is my favorite and is easier to work into my diet than something with meat toppings. I don’t have pizza often but it just takes a bit of pre-planning on my part. I always have extra calories on my run days which makes them perfect for have a couple of slices of my favorite pizza. Homemade pizza is my favorite…

Good for you!

Maybe it’s the kernels I buy or my pot or something but they burn every time without any oil.

First day of level two! Kicked my butt! There should be a level 1.5 or something because I feel like level 2 is so much harder! But that’s good because then maybe I’ll start to see some better results! Doing level one I lost 1 lb and 0.5 in from each arm. So a little bit of progress but I’m hoping there is a more…

I aim for 12-1300 a day. More if it’s a run day though. I eat a lot of chicken and rice as an easy, quick go-to meal. Usually eggs in the morning. I’ve pretty much cut out snacking entirely. With that low of a calorie count there’s not a lot of extra room for snacks if you want decently sized meals. I’ve found that having…

Eat more carbs. There are some people who do low-carb and run but it doesn’t work for the majority of people.

For a teen I would consult with a doctor about the best method for weight loss. Honestly, I wouldn’t have her counting calories at all.

Yes, I’m September! Definitely keeps me wanting to stay on track

Aww! He’s so cute! I tried to take my pup on a run and she was not having it lol

My husband is thin, 8 inches taller than me, and trying to gain muscle. So while I’m making sure I’m in a deficit every day, he’s making sure he’s eating even more. He actually gets to eat more than double my daily calories! So yeah sometimes I get a little jealous seeing him fill up his plate at dinner but it is what it…

Sprained ankles are the worst! Dang potholes! But good for you keeping up with working out anyway!
-
Thank-you! It’s actually pretty out of the norm for me lol but I’m trying to make a change in 2019 and be more active! I just hope I stick with it.

I use the highest weight I ever saw on the scale.

Yes! Popcorn is one of my all time fav snacks!! I don’t have a microwave so I’ve been making it on the stove for forever. I have to use a little oil but it’s still way less calories (and better tasting) than the microwave!

Officially done with level one!!

Finished all 10 days of level 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred! There were days I was not feeling it at all but I did it anyway and now I’m excited to move on to day 2!

Sometimes. But then I’m always absolutely starving the next day. I used to not eat after my runs if I did them at night because I didn’t really have an appetite but then I’d wake up in the morning and want to eat everything in sight! So now, whether I’m hungry or not I eat a post-workout snack.

Sounds like the wrong size. They shouldn’t be slipping off. Maybe go try on a size (or half a size down) in the store and do some planks to see if changing sizes solves the problem. I can’t imagine why it would be the brand but I do love my ASICS if you decide to switch brands :) I just use them for running though, not my…

I haven’t completed it yet (finishing level 1 today) but I do feel stronger than I did at the start. There are a lot of pretty inspiring before and after pictures on the internet. I’ll post my own before and after pictures at the end of the month :)

Excellent post! Doing exactly what you suggest here is the biggest/most important change I made when I started trying to lose weight yet again. I stopped feeling guilty for less than perfect days, I stopped feeling like one mistake meant I should just stop trying all together, and just overall I’ve been kinder to myself…

Working out at home has been a game changer for me when it comes to getting exercise in. I hate the gym and I’ve finally figured out that I’m probably always going to hate the gym. But I’ve found a good number of workouts on YouTube that I enjoy and have taken up running and exercise feels like so much less of a chore.

Original starting weight - 190 January starting weight - 147.5 January goal - 140.5 Ultimate goal - 120 January 03 - 147.8 January 10 - 146.6 January 17 - January 24 - January 31 - Total loss for January - 1.1 lbs Honestly, I’m a little frustrated. I’ve been working my butt off adding consistent exercise to my routine (and…

Bringing enough water is probably the most important. I usually take snacks/lunch as well if it’s an all day hike. Research your trail. There’s so much information out there for hikers. You’ll be able to find ones that are a more gradual elevation gain and a bit easier. If you just pick at random you run the risk of…

Weight loss is about calories. It doesn't actually matter what you eat . For, health it obviously matters what you eat but you could eat fast-food every single day and still lose weight as long as you are in a calorie deficit. You could eat all carbs or no carbs. You could lick butter off a spoon all day long, which would…

Challenge Check-In Monday - 2.5 miles on treadmill & 30 DS Tuesday - Day 8 of 30 Day Shred Wednesday - 2 miles on treadmill & 30 DS Only one more day of level 1 of the 30 Day Shred! I'm so bored of this level! Runs are going really well. I'm doing a very, very slow build to that 13.1 miles in September. Still sticking to…

If it works for you, great! Personally, I find that the scale adds a large amount of accountability for the choices I make each day. When I stop weighing, I start slipping. That’s not true everyone though so if you feel like you can/will stay on track while you step away from the scale I don’t see why you shouldn’t.

I’m just going to keep pushing through. Level 1 hasn’t been especially challenging so I don’t feel like I need the rest. I might feel different moving from level 2 to level 3 though.
