They last forever and soup is the best choice - by far. Yellow is best. And, there is no limit on the amount of carrots and chicken broth that you can use to make the soup.

I really like military MRE's. At least the entrees. They are high calorie meals but mostly the caloris are made up by the side items like peanut butter, pop tarts, cheese spread, etc. Most of the entrees are 250-300 calories. Vegetarian are the best and they have a lot of good choices. No pots and pans, pretty much self…

I'd probably like it if I gave it a chance. But, it is so different than what I am used to and it does have a lot of new flavor notes. Maybe "nasty" is not the best word for it. Its more like having a lamb burger. The first time I had one, I thought the same thing. Now I love them. Try ground lamb chili, but you have to…

Caramelized bananas on a little i ce cream.

To me, grass fed has a nasty taste. And, of course the flavor is in the fat which is retained in the cooked meat after rendering it out. I messed around with this for years with a cookbook with many of the top 100 Southwestern chili recipes. The leaner the meat the less beef flavor you get. And you don't have to retain the…

When I make chili I brown the ground meat and then pour off the fat. Every recipe I have says that. Since the fat being poured off logs at 9 calories per gram or 135 calories per tablespoon, it works out better to weigh what you actually eat, i.e. the cooked ground beef.

Jane, you're an adult, conversant in interpersonal communications, right? Do you think it is normal to search out alternative sources to dispute a current and recently cited World Health Organization statement when whether Mexico is first or second is utterly collateral to the subject. Do you think Mexicans would be eating…

It is absolutely not a problem Keto is a philosophy. CICO is a science. Just log it, Eat to your calorie goal and start over tomorrow. Every day a new day
-
It is almost always better to log cooked weight because what you cooked is what you eat. You just have to be sure your calorie reference is for the cooked version.

Your source is a travel blog. Wiki's source cited above is the WHO.

Jane, I was just starting to think you made some sense in your posts. But, you obviously cannot help yourself. Mexico ranks the most obese country in the world in adult obesity (as of 2013), and first for childhood obesity with about 4.5 million children diagnosed as such. Mexico passed the United States as the most obese…

There is a reason why Mexico distinguishes itself as the most obese country in the World. Its their diet.

The sensation of fullness while or after eating is different among people. This is like landing an airplane with a poorly made altimeter. It says you are 50 feet in the air but you just hit the runway. If you are guided by your feeling of fullness you will always overeat. You are not starving. You only feel like you are…

I weight the jar then eat pb until I think I've had enough and then weigh it again and log the difference. It is usually an ok amount. But, it means a reduction in other things.

It seems on this topic which is repeated endlessly, that common sense has been abandoned. First, know whether the calorie reference you are using is for cooked or raw food. It will never be correct until they match up. Then, use raw weight if you are eating everything you have weighed: bones, fat, skin, gristle and, yes,…

I weigh in every day, not because daily change matters, but to avoid the temptation to hold back on food and drink before a weigh in. And, I only pay attention to weight changes that persist over the entire week. In constant maintenance now, my weight each day typically looks like this: 176, 175.2, 177, 175.5 177.2, 176,…

If you have reflux during the day you have a dietary problem. If you have reflux only at night or upon reclining you have a plumbing problem. Don't think for a minute you can solve a plumbing problem with dietary choices. You can only solve this problem by avoiding food and drink at least 3 hours prior to bedtime.

Don't drink or eat anything at all after dinner.

Boredom is a symptom not a predicate. In this context it likely represents the antipathy one feels when sacrificing comfort foods for a weight loss goal one is not truly energized by. It can't be cured by switching ingredients any more than a bad marriage can be improved by moving to a better neighborhood. Work on why you…

Daily variations don't mean anything because they are overwhelmed by bowel and bladder, and water retention. Remember a 3500 calorie deficit means one pound.

It mostly is a minor problem until you get to baking where being 10% off can actually affect the result. Measuring spoons come in all shapes and getting a level tablespoon of a sticky or lumpy substance is difficult using any spoon and impossible in shallow spoons. The whole thing is just a mess. Weight is all that matters…

Cups and tablespoons are an impediment to sensible cooking.

Liquid density, surface tension and eyeballing are the biggest reasons not to use "cup" as any form of reliable measurement. No one involved in science in the US would ever use the term "cup" as a unit of measurement. If something is 237 ML, say so. It won't help, however, because density of liquids varies and only the…

Yesterday I have two left over Hormel Tamales rolled into a two egg omelet and drizzled with tamale sauce and a sliced carrot. Seemed pretty weird.

Almost everything in the MFP database is wrong. And those nasty little things they call raisins in the product have no reliable calorie data. I mistakenly posted 250 instead of 190 above but the real difference is still sugar added to the product.
-
What a question. Raisin Bran with or without the so called raisins has 250 calories per cup. All Bran has 120 calories per cup. the calories come from the enormous amounts of sugar in Raisin Bran not from a couple of little dried up raisin imposters.

Well, I think about price too, but the shell on has a lot of waste and the shrimp are sometimes pieces and, deveining after cooking tends to water them down unless you just use a thumb which is unsanitary. Top quality flash frozen tail on here are about $10/pound.
