Well, it isn't any big deal to me, but reveling in the debasing excesses of the past is not my idea of healthy dialogue. I'm also not a fan of hot dog eating contests. And, of course, there is nothing wrong or forbidden about alcohol.

In 12 Step Programs this is called a drunkalog. Widely regarded to be unhelpful.

When you have drippings from a roasted chicken, turkey or beef dish, simply put them in a measuring cup and let them separate for a few minutes. Then see how much is in the "fat" layer: 1/4 cup? 1/8 cup? And log that at 2000 calories per cup. All fat and oil is about the same. 9 calories per gram 2000 calories per cup.…

Alcohol makes every decision involving self control more difficult. Or, maybe I should say less difficult.

Fried fish fillets. I love Spam. And, the butcher cuts thin (think 3/32nd inches, sirloin steaks that fry up in 30 seconds. Use Worcestershire sauce and pepper in the skillet.

Salt is your electrolyte absolutely essential. But, can cause water retention which can fool you into thinking weight loss is not occurring.

Folks like me, who can cook and have every kitchen tool and ingredient at hand are oftenof the opinion that many people waste endless money on junk and take out. But, a visit to the digs of a truly disadvantaged person will often show no pots and pans, no condiments, no fresh ingredients (because the grocery stores cannot…

Salads are a good way to see that calorie counting does not have to result in crap food. I saute shrimp in a tiny bit of sesame oil (7g) 10 shrimp, spicy seasoning, cool it down and go with mixed Spring greens.

Uh, I was trying not to say that it is not all about you.

Well, I have to agree that expecting stupid people who have in the past made a fundamental mistake, to correct it without a glitch is wishful thinking. But, the database is so bad and the fix so simple that I'd have to take the chance. I think an adolescent could write the code to drop the bottom least used 10% of entries…

The database is a mess. All they would need to do is drop off the unused database entries and let nature take its course. The most obvious stupid things people have posted are rarely used and they would be gone. But, they are not. So a new user can go on and see a cup of milk as 1 calorie or whatnot and get confused.

Not the best way to start out. As noted throughout this forum, this is calorie counting, not Atkins, Keto, Grapefruit, diet, etc. You count the calories of everything you eat all of which is entirely up to you. Concentrating on the "forbidden foods" and the "healthy foods" is what gets people here.

You outta move to the rust belt. Everything is cheaper here.

Did someone say they stock up on Progresso Soup when it is on sale? Its regular price here is $1.68 for a 19 oz can. I can't imagine how much cheaper it would need to be.

Thinking about food is not eating food. Dangerous obsessions are ones that result in uncontrolled acts. Not thoughts.

Shrimp is on my plate at least 2 times per week. At 25g per hundred and only 100 calories, it is hard to beat with anything good. I typically saute the shrimp in Pam with crushed red pepper flakes, but, when calories are available a pat of butter is also good.

OK, all this soup talk causes me to give my actual formula for Progresso Roasted Chicken Noodle. Whole can. Add 3/4 teaspoon Better than bouillon Roasted Chicken Base. Add 1/2 Jalapeno pepper finely minced

I think the term "clean eating" is just another disguise for food shaming. For my part, if a person fits Doritos and Spam into their daily intake, they are doing just fine

Chicken is hard to log. The reason is that chicken has a lot of fat. And, if grilled, a lot of that fat ends up in the pan or in the fire. At 9 calories per gram, 120 calories per tablespoon, it affects the calorie count almost as much as the chicken does. Further complicating matters is that one usually does not eat the…

Salt does not enjoy its popularity because of food processing, WOF or damp dog hair. It is universally relished by populations the world over for centuries, conspiracy theorist, Moss's view to the contrary notwithstanding. And, MSG is not a dirty word for a billion Asians. It is a beloved food. American vegetarians think…

Sauteed sea scallops in butter and toasted sesame oil with 200 calories of Basmati rice.

Progresso chicken noodle l ow sodium is the best. For me, it needs a little spicy seasoning.

There are your mistakes. The salmon is not 400 calories, you can't get 14g of oil to stick to a salmon fillet and what is shown in the photo is not 200 grams of sweet potato. But, its your diary.

^^ I hate to stick my nose in but no way that is 850 calories. 650 . . . maybe. Salmon 240 + retained oil maybe 70. Fries 200, green beans 50.

Desert: Bananas sauteed in butter over ice cream.

There is no answer. The amount of oil at 9 calories /gram that is absorbed and retained in the food depends entirely on the temperature at which it is cooked and the breading, neither of which you can know anything about. Assume it is KFC and call it a day.
