I looked it up and google says PF offers free pizza once per month and likewise for bagels. It doesn't seem logical that members would be in it only for the free food if it's only twice a month.

Whey protein does not agree with my stomach at all. Gassiness cleared up after switching to pea and rice powders. Also, did anyone else think of 'Walmart shart' when reading the title? :D

What great deals! There are only two major second-hand stores near me. One's a Salvation Army and is very expensive. It's ridiculous that they want upwards of $10 for shirts and pants that have holes/stains/pilling on them. The other store is very reasonable with its prices and has better quality clothing, but they use…

The daily and weekly fluctuations on the scale have been stressing me out lately, so I created an Excel spreadsheet this morning to keep track of calorie intake (daily, weekly avg, monthly avg). I also included my weight for the 1st of each month. This is helping me see the bigger picture and not be so stressed about what…

I went to change it to 2 lbs per week and saw that exercise calories are not included with the total allowed calories? That's confusing to me because the diet/fitness profile page asks how much exercise a week you do. I thought the calories for exercise were already included. Does this mean with my new calorie target of…

MFP has me at 1,680 calories a day to lose 1 lb a week.

Wow, a whole month and nothing. That sounds rough. Glad it turned around for you. Poker and variance. Will be keeping that in mind. Thanks.

LOL at the 'buttercup' comment. After writing my original post, I arrived at work and was thinking, "suck it up, buttercup."

Thanks for all the advice. Yes, I do have a chart tracking weekly weight loss/gain. Guess I am just afraid because my weight is going back up the past few days. It's super easy for me to gain and have it 'stick'. I will try my best to think in the long term. I like the idea of 3 month blocks. I started weighing every day…

I know I'm in the minority, but I wish I had saved my bigger clothes the first time around. I had lost the weight and was maintaining easily, but got in an accident and could barely walk for nearly a year. The weight came back scary fast. I couldn't afford to buy a whole new work wardrobe, so had to make due with thrift…

Peanut butter. I don't like goopy globs of it and have always used a thin smear for sandwiches. Thought that was a serving, but no.

Onedownchic, happy to hear you're figuring out some stuff. Remember that weight loss can come in spurts. So if you're weighing all your food, doing the CICO, and the scale/measuring tape isn't going down, don't let that defeat you. Keep on going, knowing that you're doing all the right things, and eventually the weight…

5 months is a very long time to go with no weight loss while eating 1,200 calories a day. I'd be a raging bull on so little calories. One thing to make sure of is if your logging is accurate. Are you weighing all your food? Once I started weighing even the packaged food I eat, it was a HUGE eye-opener. So much of the…

OMG, I had a whoosh! Eight weeks ago, I made changes to lose weight. First 3 weeks, lost 3 lbs per week. Awesome. Then the 4th week, I gained a lb. For the next 3 weeks, my weight stayed put. I weigh myself this morning and somehow dropped 5 lbs. And I'm in one-derland. Maybe I should play the lotto today. :D

Talk about success! How you do manage the weight training with the disc degeneration? Every time I get serious about training, my back goes out. It's like once I reach a certain poundage, my back isn't having any of it. I increase weight slowly and warm up first. Don't know what else to do.

I'm stealing this for my refrigerator door. :D

I hear you. I haven't lost anything in nearly a month. I hope we both get out of this slump SOON! Are you tracking food with a weight scale? I noticed that even the pre-packaged items can be off by 30 or more calories, which is weird because why would a company make the mistake of putting more food into their package?…

It makes sense on the surface. So then if that's the case, only farming practices that deplete the soil would change nutrient levels. I know next to nothing about farming and wonder what would cause that. Certain pesticides? Not switching out crops properly? I should really learn more about something so basic to living.
-
If our soils are depleted to the point where the nutrient level in produce is affected, wouldn't that also mean grazing animals aren't getting in those nutrients? And therefore, our meat products are lower in nutrients?

Beans, nuts, seeds. Those are my go-tos for protein.

I don't know how to do a multiple reply, so here goes about my skincare routine. It's very basic. I shower twice a day and that's when I wash my face by scrubbing with a wash cloth under running water. I rarely use soap on my face, just once or twice a week. I moisturize every morning because oddly my face is dry, even…

I drink a minimum of 8 glasses a day. I could try drinking more, but it feels like I already use the bathroom too much (especially at work).

Still no change in weight (or clothing fit). I have to keep coming back to this thread and re-reading all of your comments when frustration hits. Amazing how freaky fast I can put on weight, but it won't come off at even half that rate. I appreciate all of your advice so much!

I'm so in! (Better late than never, right?) My weight hasn't dropped in about two weeks and it'd be really nice to see some improvement on the scale (or tape measure, clothing fit) soon before I get too discouraged. SW: 204 lbs GW: 190

Having all that junk food in the house can be hard to deal with when needing to losing weight. I had the same problem as you. My solution was to not bring most of it into the home anymore. Ice cream? Nope, not in my freezer; the kids can go with dad to DQ for a special ice cream treat. Brownies? Nope; unless someone wants…

Another food to try (if you're not already) is beans. I find them to be very helpful for satisfying hunger. And it's not like I'm straight up eating plain beans. My favorite way to eat them is either in chili or as baked beans. Also, you mentioned nuts haven't helped with hunger. Have you tried seeds, like sunflower or…

I am reading the links you all posted. Will read more after work. I will soak up the good info. Thanks!

I was going by this new BMI calculator. It's supposed to adjust for short (and tall) people better. Plus, I used to weigh 108 at my fittest (running daily and lifting heavy) and still had unwanted fat on my thighs and didn't look skinny.
-
This is good info to know. I almost want to start weighing in just once a month to avoid seeing these weekly fluctuations.

Chili is the bulk of my fiber intake. Also good for protein, iron, calcium, etc. Recipe lasts a few days, is easy to prepare, and has a lot of kick. - 2 cans of Amy's black bean chili (13g fiber per cup) - 1 can of hot chili beans (10g fiber per cup) - 1 can of diced tomatoes (2g fiber per cup) I also like to add…
