I am kicking myself for not buying an ez curl bar in January. It's one of the rare times that being afraid to spend money has not worked in my advantage.

I've gained 6 lbs in 4 weeks since being off work. And this is with me never once taking a day off weighing and logging my food. I still do my normal cardio and strength training, plus I'm now going for daily walks. The gain must have to do with me not getting on a calorie burn from moving around at work and just a general…

Shucks. What's the point of having a body fat measurement on a scale if it's not going to be accurate? Atleast now I don't have to take off my socks anymore and freeze my tootsies when getting on the scale. :D

Argh I had a long reply but lost it. Short answer is to look up Bret Contreras and search for hip thrust variations. Or find his Glute Lab book at a library. It has a variation of the hip thrust where your upper body is supported by the end of a decline bench. I have chronic neck and back pain amd this was a real game…

I just had a weird experience where the app showed all my logged food entries from yesterday, but the website didn't.

Stepped on the scale (after a hiatus) and was shocked by the number. No wonder my body has been feeling like crap lately. Goal is a little aggressive only because I expect some water weight to come off. April start wt: 200 April Goal wt: 185 April 1: 200 April 8: April 15: April 22: April 29:

You look so perfect. I'd see you on the street and would never imagine you ever had a weight problem. Thank you for sharing your story. I really needed it today.

Sweet peas are my #1. Sometimes I'll add sauteed onions, corn, green beans. Also zucchini is nice.

It'll take some experimenting. In general, higher protein foods are supposed to be more filling. Fattier foods maybe if it's in your calorie budget. Me personally, I like those lentil and chickpea pastas. They're very high in protein. I mix them with veggies and vegan cheese and bake in the oven. Comfort food.

6.2/10. Hadn't planned on running today, but I found an old pair of my son's Altras. They fit and I always wanted to try them out. Very cushion-y and like that there's no removable insole. Heavier shoe, though.

@marisap2010 13 minutes off and with hills to boot...what an all-star PR!😛

4.85/10. Surgery knee feeling good. Only strange thing I had was a bit of pain in the center of the kneecap. I went to prod/massage it, pain went away and now there's an itchy sensation. Remembering what the surgeon said, I'm hoping it's a sign that my knee is still healing, even though it's been 2 years since the surgery.

I weighed myself this morning after a month of avoiding the scale. I had gained 9 lbs between xmas and new years day and managed to tack on yet another lb since then. So stupid, but I had stopped counting calories after my food scale died. Kept meaning to get new batteries. Kept forgetting to buy them. Thought eyeballing…

3/10 miles. Cutting down on biking from 20 miles a day to half that and giving myself 2 days of rest between runs has helped. Actually ran today for 16 minutes straight and it was over a mile. Started walking to cool down, but was too giddy and ran for 10 more minutes at a slightly faster pace. Yay for itty bitty progress!…

Back at it again. Fell short of my insanely low goal last month (5.2/10 miles). But I found THE pair of shoes and my knee is feeling pretty good. Goal this month is 10 miles again.

Most of my shoes are men's because of the wide width. I've noticed some vanity sizing going on recently, so if you can, try them on in-store. I went from being a size 9/9.5 in men's to a size 8/8.5, and it's absolutely not because my feet have shrunk (don't I wish, though!). The brands I bought are New Balance and Nike for…

Couldn't do a multi-quote and didn't want a bunch of posts littering this thread, so here goes with the running shoe response. I will check into getting a gait analysis. So far I've checked out some websites of nearby running shops (closest is an hour away). Some don't even list a gait analysis service on their sites. Also…

Ran a half mile, walked a bit, then ran 2/3 of a mile. 1.5/10 Wasn't planning on running today, but couldn't resist trying something new with footwear. I've been running for years in vibram 5 finger shoes, but saw a YT video about arch support helping with knee alignment. So in the hopes of not doing anything to jeopardize…

One good thing to come out of this experience is I got to try some new dishes and have tailored them for home (minus the tons of calories!).

Wow, that is a lot of calories for a small piece. Sounds like it was worth it though. I somehow managed to gain 9 lbs over the course of a week and that cake of yours gave me a realization. I had stopped logging, but kept eating my usual foods at home (though portion sizes surely were increased) and kept up my usual…

The day after Christmas, I stopped logging (because I was doing so well, so why not take a break? ugh, little did I know). Gained 9 lbs in that short time. Seriously hoping at least half of it is water weight. Lesson learned; I need to log intake to manage my weight. My appetite is no match for intuitive eating. Kind of…

I prefer to skip breakfast and save those calories for later on. Some people insist that eating breakfast boosts metabolism or will curb hunger later on, but I've never found that to be true for myself.

I'm excited for you--life without glasses, yay! My mom offered to pay for me to get Lasik a few years ago, but the doctor said I'd have to wait until my vision got worse. It sucks being in this odd state where I only need glasses sometimes (I'm nearsighted). Half the time I forget to bring my glasses (I don't carry a…

I stretch religiously after exercising. Forgot all about the foam roller. And lol it's been sitting on the floor next to the treadmill.☺ Thanks for reminding me.
