Still finding the activity feed to be a massive, empty hole.

  • easier path: make sure you’re set on Apple Watch.
  • ….ironically several other apps had complaints that their social and friends aspect wasn’t as good as MFP. 😮 And the two apps that most my angry MFP friends switched to when Newsfeed got killed off have a litany of bad reviews for……wait for it……putting bar code scan behind a paywall. 😂 All apps I looked at had tons of…
  • sorry, didn’t mean to turn this into the bellyache thread, but it’s like the iOS app is crumbling. Had another major issue crop up yesterday, but there’s so many I can’t even remember what it is now. Only half my steps are syncing, which is making me seem less active, which is throwing off the negative calorie adjustment…
  • slug burger? 😂 This reminds of a family favorite we had every Halloween. Beef stew, mixed with sour cream, baked with drop-biscuit dough dolloped on top. I took the leftovers to work, and a coworker said “yuuuuck! that looks like barf!” so Barf if was, ever after. We used to test the girls boyfriends two ways : #1:“we’re…
  • just curious. How many of you are using iOS app, website, android app. I solely use iOS app. And by any chance, how many of you have crossed a time zone lately? If so, did your problem with dates start around the same time?
  • hi @lexikanaar Welcome to MFP. This question gets asked every couple of days. Go to your search function in the top and enter “smoothie”. You get more recipes than you can eat in a month of Sundays. I forgot (aka too lazy) to make ice cream mix last night, so we will enjoy our favorite smoothie after dinner for dessert. 1…
  • on IOS, go to your daily log and swipe left. OR select edit at the top and use the intuitive path to delete either the whole day, whole meal, or a specific food.
  • have deleted, rebooted and reinstalled. It errored out multiple times during the reinstall, presumably because of the lengthy user history. New glitch, as of today, it’s refusing to add steps, even though I’ve tried syncing several times, and have closed out and restarted several times. As a result of being so “inactive”,…
  • roasted pork tenderloin basted with lemon balsamic, butter lemon marmalade, sharp mustard, and herbs de Provence. Wild rice cooked with low sodium chicken broth. Spinach, if I can get off my bottom and get to the grocery store. Otherwise simple mixed greens and tomato salad.
  • I’m that weird person who loves salad. I always said, if I ever won the lottery, I’d hire someone to make me fresh salad (and slice watermelons for me! I adore watermelon but hate hate hate cutting one) every day. So my go to is usually an interesting menu salad, with two added servings of grilled chicken. There’s a…
  • a lot of people left here and went to Lose It because they had free barcode scanning, but more importantly, they still had a (sorta) Newsfeed. The free scanning is now behind a paywall. I tried their feed but it was more like a Reddit type format of nested answers and responses. I find that very confusing, plus I liked my…
  • edit started working for a day, and now getting this again: Sorry, as much as I’ve cheerled for MFP, I feel like I’ve got the right to post some bitchin’. I’m at my wits end. It’s like watching the app disintegrate before my eyes.
  • if you want an eyeful, check reviews in the App Store. Sort by most recent. Holy cow. Some poor soul has been put on the “apology response” circuit.
  • Premium membership cancelled, expires in 45 days. I’m not just blowing smoke this time. I’ll be experimenting with some of the other calorie counting apps in the meantime, while crossing fingers MFP gets their *kitten* together.
  • yall, I am not renewing my subscription to MFP. until the kinks are worked out. My daily diary is so beset with problems of every stripe, I can’t get a handle on it. Last night it subtracted 6 or 7,000 steps, which affected my calorie account by 100 calories or so. This morning my today’s step count went DOWN during…
  • PS lest I sound a little whackadoodle complaining that steps this morning dropped from 67 to 42, my point is, there should be no way MFP is recording “reducing” steps. Step count should only get larger. Since those step counts affect daily calories, backwards count shouldn’t even be possible.
  • @Lady_Magenta I’ve followed your posts for a while. I don’t know how this devolved into what it did, but I think you’re doing wonderfully well, and am as proud as any random Internet stranger can be for you for hanging in through it all. It’s clearly been a challenge, and you’re still determined to win. Good job! Hang in…
  • that’s a lovely first board post! Much continued success!
  • I’m sorry. I went “no contact” with my family several years ago, and I’m old as dirt. It’s hard at any age, but sometimes it’s the thing you have to do to allow your own self to heal, especially if you’ve been (or have placed yourself in the position of….) handling everyone else’s problems for them. But OMG was it…
  • pleeeeeeeease tell me “baby face” isn’t going to be the new clickbait. Otherwise I’m gonna induce fat loss @nossmf style.
  • if it’s come on recently, consider any late day food changes you’ve made. I just realized my very video dreams the last few nights started when I changed my evening cheese for cheese and crackers, and in fact, haven’t been sleeping great at all since having cheese and crackers after dinner, period. May move them to the…
  • ….and on the plus side, I treat myself to new clothes every so often, because I deserve to look nice. I thank myself for doing it. I pay attention to what feels better than it used to. I’m grateful for being able to jump up on a whim and take the dog out or enjoy a solo walk, schedule a last minute yoga class, or feel the…
  • yes. It’s harder than the actual loss, isn’t it? But it’s well worth it. I don’t ever want to be one of those people posting “back again!” I gave away all my larger size clothes so I don’t have any “cushion” to fall back on. I keep the same foods in the house I did during the initial loss. I’ve accepted that I’ll weigh and…
  • I had to run a mile once a year, from about ages 10-13, in the 1970’s, as part of the required President’s Physical Fitness test. Needless to say, it wasn’t pretty and I couldn’t finish it. I would get horrible, hit the ground painful, stitches in my side. When I’d hit the ground, PE teachers would yell at me, and other…
  • occasionally it will reset itself, but there’s no rhyme or reason to it. Best bet is to do as @Alatariel75 says. Go in and review your Goal settings every so often to force a reset. And then keep an eye on it and make sure it stays reset.
  • yeah, I’m going to subscribe to a weight loss plan where even the grammar is sketchy and smacks of coming from Asia, as are those subscription ingredients, most likely……but then again, I’m old and that still matters to me I'm not naming names, but while I was deleting and redownloading MFP over breakfast to kill a new…
  • same here. MFP is deducting hundreds, sometimes a couple thousand, of steps per day versus Apple Watch. Started about a month ago?
  • same issue. It’s also affecting my 7-day average, which is totally cattywampus, and now I can’t copy meals from “yesterday” because there’s multiple “yesterdays”. I am usually pre-logged 7 days ahead, so this is a problem.
  • @babydee29 I absolutely love love love the part about Loving yourself thin!!!!! changing my inner choice of words was huge for me. Someone on another thread was talking about “forcing themselves to do this and so”, and my immediate reaction was, I’d have been so hostile to myself for requiring “forcing” I wouldn’t have…
  • yeah, I was going to say, give Ms Ann the Nice Award today, and not even mean it sarcastically.
