@BCLadybug888 i just ordered the correct gum and a set of serrated spoons I have no idea what to do with all the xanthan. I doubt the food pantry would want it. I feel guilty throwing it all out, but thankfully I only paid like $9.99 versus the $50 of it they shipped by accident. They’ve done that before and when I try to…

Yes yes yes and more yes. I wanted something else after dinner last night. I was too darn lazy to get up and blend the ice cream. So just went without because couldn’t think of anything tempting. No chios, crackers, cookies to fall back on, and all my chocolate was frozen rock solid. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sorry typed in calories wrong on that sushi. Spicy California roll 340. Avocado “sushi” wraps are 90 or 100 each, including sauce. I always eat both.

I started to say,”I feel ya” but that comes out all wrongheaded, doesn’t it?! My gym same way. You want to start something, especially in the pool, take a photo. I don’t dare ask my husband to take a lats or biceps photo. I’d never hear the end of it. Heck, I’ve even asked him to take regular photos just because the…

You can take existing logged meals and use the three dot save option to save them as recipes. Will save you the hassle of finding the ingredients again. Personally, I like having the list of ingredients. It makes it easier for me to adjust on the fly if I use less or more (or not at all!) of a particular ingredient without…

If you’re not up to prepping, many large grocery chains carry Zenshi prepared sushi. You could have a nice spicy California roll and a pair of vegetable avocado wraps for about 650 calories. It’s not super high protein but you can eat some, stick it in the fridge and come back to finish it up easily without tainting the…

My goal at that time was 2340. I ate 2351. I am set at “highly active” but that day I wasn’t. I usually average 18-20,000 steps but that day I didn’t, due to plantar fasciitis. Got in less than 10,000, trying to rest my foot. I earned about 650 exercise calories, but MFp recognized that I was well below average and wasn’t…

Just a reminder….. don’t flip out when you get home. Long flights cause large temporary weight “gains”. Cabin pressure, sitting still for enforced lengths of time cause water retention. I can easily gain 5-6 flying to Europe. Flying to Japan will be a much longer trip. It flushes out within days. It’s not “real” weight you…

Yay! I googled how to peel a mango and knocked three out in no time this morning. Game changer- and less likelihood of losing a finger. Think I’ll invest in one of those serrated grapefruit spoons to make it even easier. Boo! Amazon accidentally shipped me a partial case of xanthan, instead of the single bag I ordered. I…

@Fursian your idea of cherry-picking people’s movements…..what’s interesting to me is asking my trainer “why?” Why do I do flies at this level and not that? Why do I angle bicep curls this way? Why do I squeeze here in the gym and there in yoga? Why should I look up on pull-ups (the desire to see what my feet are doing is…

Felt less swollen this morning, and stomach wasn’t as bloated. Tried a really “skinny” pair of leggings and they fit great. I honestly don’t think they would’ve a few days ago. Privately thought “Ok, wee bit a progress”. Worked with my trainer and halfway through, she said “your inflammation is down. I can see it in your…

I can’t fathom how they can begin to be accurate. How do they know how many ounces of chicken are mixed in all my vegetables? How do they know if I used low cal honey ginger balsamic versus a heavier sauce? Does it know that I “stir fry” without using oil? That the stuff under the bottom of the pile is cauliflower rice…

PS. I don’t know what you read or what ads you see, but there is no magic weight loss through shakes. Or pills. Or magic exercise plan. Or soups, vinegar drinks or anything else. Weight loss comes down to simply thinking. It’s our brains, and the desires our brains think we have or need, that hold us back. Tell your brain…

I don’t think English is your first language, so I’m trying to word this as kindly as I can. Starting anything is scary. Starting anything as a senior, which you’ve indicated elsewhere that you are, is even scarier. We’ve developed comfort zones and are frightened to leave them. Looking at your past posting history, you’ve…

Yesterday 151.00 This morning; back to reliable and consistent 152.6. Probably because I scraped the bottom of the popcorn bowl to rake up the last tidbits of truffle salt. 😂

Six feet. Mind blowing.

Thanks for the tip. I was reading that Oofos are supposed to be great. Went bundling over to DSW. Not impressed. And especially not at $60 bucks. I ordered some xanthan gum to experiment with using in homemade ice cream instead of sugar free pudding. Amazon accidentally sent me five bags. One bag was torn, and the fine…

Annoyed. I bought a premade salad. Just opened it for lunch. It has about two cups of lettuce and NOTHING ELSE except flavored tortilla strips, sesame sprinkles, and dressing. 🤬 Won’t be buying this again. Should have looked at it closer.

Impressive. 👍🏻 @AnnPT77 not intending to take away from the other thread, but that is a ladies thread. The lats convo was coed and someone idly suggested making it a thread . 🤷🏻♀️

That’s wonderful! I always picture what certain weights would be as a shopping cart full of roasts, bags of potatoes, or a giant bag of dogfood etc. You’ve offloaded a whoooole lot of merchandise there! 😅

@sollyn23l2 i pointed out to the podiatrist that yoga incorporates most the foot stretches on the Plantar Fasciitis handout and asked if I should modify. He told me no need to modify, yoga is one of the best things I can do for it. So I’ve got a license to yoga, am taking full advantage of it, and let me tell you, I’m…

Day 11 of no sugar substitutes (other than a wee bit in a necessary vitamin). Everything that follows is anecdotal, since this is too short a time to draw conclusions. I feel clearer headed. To my surprise, even though I’ve gone back to “regular” bbq sauce, Hersheys Syrup, etc my 7-day average sugar consumption remained…

You used to be able able to share them via the friends newsfeed. Alas, that is dead and buried.

151.00 Major crochet project with hundreds of hours invested is aaaaaaaalmost complete. Has helped me avoid many thousands of calories, in all likelihood. Hoping to model it for ya’ll shortly. New “calorie avoidance” project is raring to go. All supplies are now at hand.

From my perspective, do it now. I WISH WISH WISH I’d had the smarts to do it at 43. Jeez, if I had it to do all over again…..

Yes, 2310 to lose half a pound a week. I wasn’t losing and was frustrated- til I reviewed my diary and saw that for the most part I was averaging well above that, so duh, no wonder no movement. Are you very short? How did you get to 1200? 1200 is awfully low. I’d be clawing the walls and snarling at everyone within…

I’m just happy for you that calculating this is a problem in the first place. It means you’re getting off your bottom. Good for you!!!’ Welcome to MFP, @hazelm92024

I’d also suggest reframing. Don’t “hate” weighing and logging. Instead, “need to weigh and log to improve my health”. “Get to weigh and log to be there for my kids and family”. Anything you frame as punishment, is punishment. Take the punishment words out of your vocabulary.

Check out this woman’s thread. She started with numerous health problems. I find her very inspiring. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/comment/48405819#Comment_48405819 @kiteflyer105

Welcome to MFP @marie062399 Maybe we could help your break this down into bite size chunks. Trying to start everything all at once is overwhelming. Maybe think of yourself as a train picking up steam. What could you start today that would be an improvement? Switching to diet soda or seltzer water? Setting a goal to walk X…
