Kombucha - it’s not for everyone, I didn’t try it for the longest time and then I loved it once I tried it. There are a lot of variations..
I find strawberry glow kombucha to be my sparkling wine substitute. I like elderberry juniper as well.
There are so many varieties!Let us know if you try and whether it’s really an unpopular opinion. lol

My overall point was generally speaking, people do IF mainly because they would rather not track…

I think more people do IF because it's hyped widely than for any other reason.
Maybe those who stick with it do it so they don't have to track, I dunno.
I think a lot of people do a lot of things in pursuit of weight loss because they're hyped, because they might somehow be magic, and yeah, sometimes because they don't want to track.
Tracking isn't necessary for weight loss. Calorie counting, too, gets hyped some, I think in part because a high emphasis on "calories in, calories out" drives them that way. It's not necessary to count calories to eat fewer of them than we burn.
People lost weight before tracking was practical, and I'm old enough to have seen it happen. Tracking, when reasonably well done, just makes weight loss more predictable. That's why I started doing it myself, when I'd already lost around half the weight I wanted to lose. I wanted to understand it more, make it more predictable.
I think there are probably some unpopular opinions mixed in there. 😉

I think people turn to the hype because it seems easier than having to track. And in most cases it is. And it also can work. Most people don't want to be bothered with tracking…

RD started our series of sessions with tracking to understand calorie needs and how much food to eat - tracking enables understanding for sure.
As I thought on this today, realized that understanding how much I am eating is truly 1 of my essential needs/goals.
However, learning/understanding how much I need and then eating that amount without tracking is perhaps my 'ultimate/desired?' goal - if possible.
I find tracking tedious, but helpful for understanding, and a good system for quantifying amount.
Hope to learn and do it with tracking when needed but not the tight tracking we started with. I don't know if I will ever be able to eat free range as desired - that 'see food, eat food like it's a feast' did not work well for me.
Something inbetween - enough. Understand and stop at enough... So, imagine 'some' tracking for a reality check may remain an essential tool, along with other tools - like food choices in a 'myplate' format or guestimating using exchanges or hand/object estimators.
I just want it to be no big deal, like using soap in the dishwasher as a tool for clean plates, using silverware and plating food so it looks nice so I can appreciate and enjoy the food.
Then put it away and live life doing other things until I ought to eat more, at ease that there will be more later… not to fret any of it.

my unpopular opinion today is……
gentlemen need to arrive on time for stretching and stay for cool downs following muscle madness cardio classes.Don’t talk about how flexible the ladies are when you’re intentionally arriving late, and packing up weights, mat, steps and leaving the moment cool down has started.
Never fails.
Guys can be flexible, too, if they try. To wit: my hot yoga fellows. Or should I say, my hot, hot-yoga fellows? 😮

Only semi-related tack-on: I'm baffled by people who say "I'm not flexible enough to do yoga".
People, people, people: To get more flexible is a REASON to do yoga.

my unpopular opinion of the day:
“What should I eat for breakfast” posts are low effort and drive me nuts.
….all dozen of them every week on repeat typically by one post wonders who will never come back anyway…. In their a society out there that can bring awareness to grocery store options?
Don’t get me started on the 30 different threads every other week about “menopause and dieting”

I’d throw money at you for these particular Unpopular Opinions, if that was an option here.
The one thing I never heard was that menopause was out to get me. So I never even thought to factor it in. Had I done so, it would have been a powerful excuse and I might still be sitting on my steadily spreading butt, scarfing M&Ms by the family sack.
My Unpopular Opinion is that menopause is a weight loss blockade only if you choose to let it be.

Menopause is definitely one of the big marketing fronts for diet and exercise programs these days, and they need us to believe that we can't possibly lose weight, gain fitness or improve our health post-menopausally unless we buy their secret supplement, diet, or exercise program. It's no surprise that lots of people believe it. Repetition will do that.
Same as age, hypothyroidism, and various other things: It's a roadblock if you think it's a roadblock.
In my view, if something is a roadblock, the only point in thinking about it is to focus on how to get over, around, through or otherwise past it. Anything else is a waste of time and energy.
Human behavior suggests that's an unpopular opinion. 😉

These and "I need high protein recipes" or "I need low sugar recipes" - like, a little context, please? Coz "A steak and salad" fits both those things.
I really do feel like Google and now AI has really created this mindset that someone can put the smallest amount of effort into a query and expect big effort back.

Here’s one which might get some people energised - true adrenal “fatigue” is a medical crisis and requires immediate medical intervention. Feeling tired is not adrenal fatigue. A special tea or diet will not fix adrenal fatigue. Lowering your stress will not fix adrenal fatigue.
(Yes being in a chronic state of stress will make you feel burnt out and ill - a special tea or massage won’t fix that either.)
Yours - from someone who lost one adrenal gland to cancer and whose adrenal function has to be checked regularly. For ever.

People who post asking for advice, many users take their own precious time to respond, and OPs never even bother to come back.Rude!!!!!
Part of me is tempted to post “Still fat.? Still hopeless? How’d that fad diet work for you?” on all those threads I’ve answered and bookmarked.7 -
Apparently this is an unpopular opinion: I don't particularly get discouraged when people don't reply, or post things that have been posted a zillion times before, or post questions without enough context.
If I did feel that way, I don't think I'd keep posting? I expect people to behave like humans behave.
People are bad with technology or typing. If they're semi-new to weight loss, they don't know what information is relevant. If they're new to MFP, they don't know what's been asked before, may not know how to use the search, plus may ask an innocuous, non-embarassing FAQ-type question just to dip a toe into the Community, see if people are nice.
Maybe it's that I spent some years doing help-desk stuff in my job. People are going to people, which includes asking basic questions, and asking the same things over and over. (Sometimes the same person asks the same thing over and over. One that amused me was a guy who needed to use one of our systems about once every 4 months. Every single time, he couldn't sign into it, and would come in person to our help center and say he'd never ever signed into that system before. Every single time, we helped him sign into that system . . . repeatedly. 😆)
I can touch-type (fast). I'm decent with technology, though not superstar. I know MFP fairly well. I want to help people. I can tell people are reading because I have roughly 3 times as many click-reactions as I have posts. Every once in a while, someone tells me they appreciate things I've said on threads they've read but where they didn't post. Good enough for me.
I do get discouraged when people explicitly comment that I'm mean or otherwise negative when someone asks for advice and I offer advice. I try to be nice, mostly, at least as a starting point.

if you’re going to group cardio, you don’t need to be parking in a handicapped space.
There’s only six, and the folks in the rehab classes, who could only wish to be as mobile as you, need all of them. Have a freaking heart!

Expanding on that thought, @springlering62 , if you're at the gym to jump on a treadmill and walk/run for a while, you have enough mobility to park in the outermost row of parking and walk to the gym door, it's only an extra 10 seconds of movement and can count as extra warmup/cooldown. Yet every day at the gym, people drive around looking for a closer parking space, instead of just taking one further out. Spending minutes driving around to save seconds walking before you exercise by…walking. 😶

Second the thought above - you are going to a GYM, why are you searching for the closest spot.
Add to it, the motorcycle person that puts his bike right outside the entrance instead of an actual parking spot (have a concrete pad between my gym and the Boot Barn next door - it's not designated as parking.)
I work out at Planet Fitness, and see a lot of people with mobility issues there - using canes, even wheelchairs. I'd rather park in the back of the lot and leave the closer spots to such people. They are trying to regain function, and need a little help in the short term.
