Very helpful guys! Looks like the best things I can do would be lots of weighted conditioning, making sure I properly prepare when I get out there, and give myself enough of a time table to properly assimilate to the elevation.

I live at 39' compared to Boulders 5328'. I've never been to anything remotely close to that long term. Years ago I did a cycling trip from Vancouver to San Diego, so I rode down the West Coast but I'm unaware of any elevation I was at that would be comparable.

I weight the raw ingredients and make note of them. I then weight the finished product and put that for total servings amount as if it was a recipe. For example if I make a chili and the finished batch is 2k grams then I label it as 2k servings. I then enter all the raw ingredients into it.

What I've been doing is weighing the finished product and putting that as the amount of servings. Then I just measure it out when I'm grabbing some. So in other words, if I make chili I weigh the chili at the very end. If the Chili weighs 2000 grams, I put 2000 servings. It makes the process much easier for me.

I'm always looking for new friends!

I want a huge serving of buttery shepherd's pie with several pints of Guinness and a bowl of Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream

Definitely Nice

Not a gal, or in Seattle BUT if you're looking for new friends in a new city you should check out the app Meetup. Super handy for meeting new people with similar interests/goals. Congrats on the loss and keep up the good work!

Hey Josh! Feel free to add me, I'm aiming for the same goals. I'm a New Englander

Never seen anything like that, but found a thread on reddit discussing almost the exact same thing (pork rinds that had the same disclaimer). Copy and pasted the most useful comment I saw: "From the FDA: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfcfr/CFRSearch.cfm?fr=101.9 7) "Protein": A statement of the number…

I'm a big fan of left overs, but in the past I've made veggie/hummus wraps and I've also pre-made burritos. I used to make about 20 burritos and then freeze them (wrap in paper towel and then foil). Switch it to the fridge the night before and lunch is ready.

A turkey stir fry that will continue to serve as lunch for a few days. It includes: ground turkey, a cucumber, bell peppers, jalapenos, asparagus, onion, garlic, and carrots. I'll probably add cayenne, chili powder, black pepper, and maybe some cumin.

As a bearded man, I approve of this entire thread.

Waiting to leave work and researching a new workout program.

Congrats! I've been logging on here for about 2.5 weeks now, I haven't weighed in again just yet but already have gone down a belt loop and feel like I'm progressing! Just need to stay consistent and I'm sure we'll both reach our goals.

It posted the above comment twice and I couldn't delete it... only edit it...

My plan is while I'm working on reaching my goal weight (CW:215 GW: 180) use this body weight program to build some relative strength, tone up, and try to maintain some muscle. I think once I hit the goal weight I'll switch to a weight program like P.H.U.L.

Yeah! I'm going to do a run through of the routine this week and see where I fall on some of the progressions/what kind of modifications need to be made.
-
The only person you ever need to compare your running to is yourself. Your pace doesn't matter, what matters is that you're getting out their and grinding. Keep up the good work!

I'm loving all these responses! We've got a bunch of impressive stuff here.

Thank you for the insight! I've been thinking of doing Crossfit to help build the process a bit. I was looking at a May date so hopefully it wouldn't be quite so cold!
-
I was thinking of doing the Sprint to begin with. I couldn't track down the training plan on their site, I'll have to check again. How did your first Sprint go? I saw the mileage can range from 3-5 mi.

I could always use new friends!

Feel free to add me! I'm about two weeks in and always looking for accountability friends/support!
