  • @springlering62 OMG I love you!!! <3 37 years WOW!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!! To be clear, he kept this board when he was first divorced and yes, it creeps me out in a way too but he got rid of it as soon as I expressed my feelings about it. He truly loves me for me but I do know and he has admitted he would be disappointed if I…
  • @coryhart4389 Thank you for your thoughts! I do enjoy peanut butter! It's delicious but I don't enjoy the feeling of hiding it. There is something more going on there for me to figure out! @al0481113 Thank you for helping me to feel as though I am not alone in this behavior! We are all so precious! I need to remember this…
  • I totally know I am not going to balloon up, nor have I, but I do see that it is not allowing me to progress to the next level, not to mention, I feel ashamed of the fact I do this and would like to stop. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
  • No he does not body shame me. He's super supportive. He did have this pinterest board before we met of super fit women who he admires and I think I still feel like that is his ideal and I will never measure up so maybe I am self sabotaging? It's not his fault. I definitely have some body dysmorphia type thinking at times.…
  • The initial weight loss--I tracked macros and realized I needed to eat MUCH more protein, which has made a huge difference! I also started weight training and THIS made ALL of the difference in my body composition. I am strong and fit now, which is the look I love, and while I am still very much wanting to improve more, I…
  • I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts, @newzane15 however, I definitely will be doing more than 2 leg exercises. I did used to do a squat variation as well as leg extensions in my training and just felt like I needed a break from squats. This may sound crazy but squats push my body hard which makes me cry! It's a…
  • My arms are actually bigger than I’d like...if I stick to higher reps, lower weight will I be able to maintain what I’ve gained? As you can see, my lower half is what I’m desperate to improve!
  • @LadyDaenerys I am in a very similar place as you except I have much more muscle in my upper body and midsection which I have obtained from heavy lifting. I definitely think you need to eat more calories which will help you lift heavy which will help build muscle and shed more fat. I am SO SO hard on myself as well when…
  • Thank you @newzane15 !! I just decided to try a bulk and cut cycle....but now I’m reading what you wrote and am questioning this decision along with my fear of gaining fat. Thoughts? Would others offer their opinion as well? I’m really on the fence!
  • @cupcakesandproteinshakes How much have you gained so far? What is your height? How many calories are you eating and what’s your training like? How do you cope with not liking what you see in the mirror?
  • I’m going to go for a bulk and cut cycle. Given that I want to build my legs and booty and I’m happy with my overall leanness and physique, I’m going to give it a shot and see what happens!
  • @steveko89 Thank you!!!! I have been lifting for almost two years and think I’ve maxed out on my newbie gains. My bf was measured as 15% through in body but I don’t think it’s that low honestly. Looking to build my glutes and legs so going to try bulking. I’m scared because I don’t want to gain fat too much but feel…
  • Going to take a leap of faith and try bulking for my first time ever. I am excited and nervous both! I am lean and vascular in my upper body and mid section but my legs and glutes need to grow I think and then hit the fat loss more. What advice do people have? I have been in a deficit from my TDEE for almost a year and I…
  • First of all---AWESOME! This is AMAZING progress and you are doing so many healthy behaviors and habits. I am not an expert but I will share that my guess is you are actually eating too few calories. I am eating 1700 calories and I train hard and I am a 5'3" 43 year old female who weighs 131 pounds. I also think you would…
  • @JamesyPaylor One of the most incredible benefits of challenging yourself to grow by weight lifting is that your mind and confidence are challenged and grow as well! If you add in deadlifts, I would suggest trying a hex or trap bar if you have access to one. The deadlift was a tough movement for me to learn personally and…
  • Thank you so much @talan79! If you are able to share your weight, that would be great! Feel free to private message me. How heavy do you think you are lifting? What are your goals now? I wonder if I should increase my calories some....I will have to read about reverse dieting. This is something I am not familiar with. I…
  • @Talan79 I am really thinking I need to do something different with my nutrition. I have been consistently at the same weight for the past 1 year. I definitely see my legs changing, but I am wondering if I ate more if I would build muscle but maybe not gain fat? Do you weigh every day? I also had an InBody that measured me…
  • @sijomial FANTASTIC !!! I can't wait to watch later! Thank you for sharing! Curious if you have any other thoughts on how to progress in general? Thanks~~
  • So crazy someone flagged my picture when I am essentially wearing what is a bikini! OY!
  • YAY for you! How did you succeed? What has been your biggest gain from this journey?
  • @coryhart4389 @JBanx256 @AnnPT77 @batman4121 thank you all so much for your most recent info! I have to say...I have made progress on the total body workouts so far! I increased my bench FINALLY and reached 95 pounds which I know isn't super monumental but for me, it was a target of mine for months.
  • Totally love Mike Matthew’s also! His company is Legion Athletics and he has a podcast Muscle for Life that is great. Consistency is key-just keep showing up and get in the groove and things will fall in place. Know that changes WILL happen though not nearly as quickly as you might like. Nutrition is key. Once I started…
  • @AnnPT77 and @davew0000 i really appreciate you both weighing in! I’m not sure I have it in me to bulk and cut! Unless someone tells me I need to try just to see then I think I’m going to try slow and steady! 🙂 I’d love to hear other thoughts/opinions!
  • For those that disagree-what advice or thoughts do you have? I can’t see who disagreed
  • Any estimates on my body fat percentage? Not that it really matters...more curious. You can see how right until after my waist, I’m fairly trim but then you get to my hips and boom-I’m all there 😊 @Chieflrg @batman4121
  • <3 Agreed with the other thoughts here. Consistency is THE single most helpful thing! What is one thing you can work on changing? Then nail that. For me, I started with developing an awareness of how much protein I was (or really wasn't!) eating and then increasing that dramatically. I then started just committing to going…
  • @Chieflrg OMG right--reps would help! Anything with RPE of 5, 7, 8, 8 is 12-15, 10-12, 4-6 Anything with RPE of all 8 is 12-15 Patience...TOTALLY I have come SO far and I know I am still improving...I think I might just have to accept that my lower body is just going to trail my upper and may never look the way I hope for…
  • I ordered Isopure creatine monohydrate :) Will keep you posted! Excited to try it! Thank you all!
  • @Chieflrg Here is my workout: Day 1: Flat Bench (alternate DB and BB) x4 RPE 5, 7, 8, 8 Lat Pull x4 RPE 5, 7, 8, 8 Hack Squat x4 RPE 5, 7, 8, 8 Shoulder Press x4 RPE 5, 7, 8, 8 Bis/Tris Day 2: Hex DL x4 RPE 5, 7, 8, 8 Front Raises x4 8,8,8,8 Lateral Raises x4 8,8,8,8 Close grip Lats x4 RPE 5, 7, 8, 8 Lunges (usually…
  • @batman4121 Thank you so much for your help as well! No I am not competing-this is strictly for me. Helpful to know you don’t think I need to eat more. I think extra cardio is going to help and maybe lifting heavier but I feel like I have good lifting and go hard-will post those a little later this am when I’m able. Maybe…
