I’m not sure why, but complete strangers keep telling me how great my hair is. I have long hair, but many complements over the last 2weeks. A colleague also said “have you lost more” I said yes 45 total....he said “impressive” :) it was 10 more than he last asked.

Since you asked ---- Set up some eating rules. Ask yourself (what should I not eat, and when should I not eat - write down the rules). For me it is potato chips and licorice, and I crave them all the time (less so now, but the chips for sure). I don't eat them except maybe 2 times a month in a 1-2 portion size only. When…

What do you want to achieve

Wow, that's a lot of running. Congrats on the good bill of health.

This is why we don't notice when it creeps up, and others don't notice when it creeps down. I hadn't seen someone in a year, and they were like - oh you lost a little weight - I'm like ya a little (over 40 actually, but I didn't say how much).

We will have to disagree somewhat. I'm not saying you can't burn in a general deficit, I'm saying during training, 30 minutes really won't cut it and your body starts to actually take energy from your stores past that. I for example, do not have a lot of calories to work with, so I will have to turn up the training.

So I was trying to think "What does a lb of fat look like" I did some searching and found this to be quite reflective. Our fat has a density similar to olive oil....Sort of a motivator to me to lose.... I'm taking the answer from another blog post online: ________________________ Mark Hahn Mark Hahn, computer guy Answered…

Create a back-up snacking plan. Pickles helped me a lot.... . Recommend scheduling exercise at peak snacking hours, or change your evening routine since it triggers a bit, if you watch TV at night, don't, maybe instead read a book where your hands are busy turning pages - ask your girls if they want to go for a walk, take…

Suggestion: Make a note of what is authorized to watch (and or social media time), post a list of what that is, set a timer, then get up. create couch rules if you will.

I'm told (by a mentor of mine recently (athlete who has run for decades), that the first 30 minutes doesn't really burn the fat, but you have to add 30 after that at least) - to jolt the system even more. I'm planning a longer water jog, if you want to see more results, try to up the 30 minutes. Maybe 1 hour 4 times a…

Take it - a loss is a loss, and move forward. That's good results.

Focusing on the calorie intake will get you more results even if you reduce the exercise. Consider working out 4 days a week only, and reduce the cals. If the working out makes you extra hungry, as you have suggested it is counter productive. I don't know your weight -so I'm unclear on your current situation, if you are…

Not so bad, most of it is likely from extra salt while eating out - that should zip down within a week or so after you get back to your routine.

Check out local facilities that might allow an occasional or one-time or weekly rate (maybe instead of a reoccurring membership, every other month or in bad weather you do a week at a gym, to change up your routine. If you have friends with access to gyms, they might be able to get you the occasional free pass. Focus on…

(5 lbs less than my July 01 weigh-in) GW for August is 194 August Goals: Work on stress management which can be a trigger for eating, continue to log, check in with nutrition coach. 10 day mini boot camp 05 August to 15 August - means uptick in workouts each…

Over 300 isn't ridiculous unless your calorie count is set to high - do a reassessment of current goals.

Hi Sarah - how long did it take you to gain it? If it has been a temporary gain maybe shorter (like had a baby, surgery etc). Its taken me a year to lose 42 lbs, and since making a greater effort 36 since November. It depends on your metabolism. I don't exercise a great deal other than in the water, but water jogging 3-4…

For the final comments just above, we've been rolling forward each month - the group leader will post in this thread what the new month is named so you can search for it.

When I get a craving I eat it (but a small amount). I’d recommend getting up and having 1/4 cup of cereal with 1/4 cup of almond or low fat milk and be done with it. Your body could be craving a nutrient. I focus on calories, slight redux in carbs and try to reduce sugar. You should find an eating habit that works for you…

A lot of people gasp at 1200, but I've been doing that for about 6 months ranging between 1000-1400 with the exercise. I've learned my metabolism is quite slow - I'm also in my 40's. Anything over about 1600 I gain weight. I've lost close to 40 lbs over 7 months, have logged every day - I work with a nutritionist, and get…

Before you can lose you absolutely have to stop gaining. You suggest you have a new job - that is one possible change to your routines and activities. For example on my longer commute days, it is hard for me to work out because I'm too tired. First thing I would suggest is cut out all drinks with calories. Up your water…

Well yesterday I finally hit onederland, today it stuck! I have met my original July goal (my birthday month). HW in June 2018 242, SW in November on MFP 236, CW 198.8 - I also had measured in May (which was only about 7 lbs ago), and retook my measurements today - I dropped 1.5 inches in my hips and .5 inches around my…

I set up mini challenges for myself each month. I made May a no alcohol and no chip month, you could do the same for the rest of July and all of August?

Completely avoided processed food on my last shopping trip. Felt good too.
