I too had a rough year. Tough year teaching, one of my heros, my wife's grandma passed away. I gained about 25 pounds in one year. I've figured some things out and am going to be successful this year

I was just wondering if its water weight because I do not want to do things unhealthy. I was planning for two pounds a week, hoping for one. So I am not going to expect to keep this pace up.

I am 377 now, so yes a lot more weight to lose. I logged for 21 days before I changed anything and then I made a small change to exchange some things I was eating for other things. I still eat cheese and ice cream and other things I love.

Great job man. This is pretty close to the transformation I want to make. Started at 390 looking to make it to 225.

10 pounds in a month is great. Don't get in a hurry just keep moving forward. 10 pounds turns to 20 then 30. You got this. I added you so we can cheer each other on.

Very well put, as a serial starter I can tell you that it can be very intimidation for someone especially those not comfortable in their skin to go to the gym. They are paying to go and just because you have been going much longer they have all the right to be there. Gyms are not Exclusive

The problem I had in the past was I would guess how much I was eating and not measuring and weighing all of the food. I took three weeks, not changes to diet or exercise.…

For 21 days I tracked everything I ate no matter what and I learned a lot. I was able to see when I was eating the most, what I was eating, and exactly how the food I was eating made me feel. WOW! You really have to eat a lot, and not just any food, you need to eat a lot of crap to not only maintain 370 lbs but gain. I had…

First day and I realized I have 1000 calories left and I was full all day. Really eye opening exactly what garbage I have been eating to have been maintaining or gaining so much weight.

I'm a dad of three also a teacher... Eating at my desk most days. Also at my highest weight.

Good work.

I'm in 390 now. I want to get to 225 ultimately. I'll shoot for 299 for this year

boil a whole chicken and the meat falls off the bone, mix it with some homemade bbq sauce or other sauce and throw it on a sandwhich. Better than lunchmeat.

Thanks for the kind words, I am learning about calories and after Christmas I am going to begin making changes one at a time. No more jumping in head first.
