  • Several of you are mentioning macros. What does this mean? I think it has to do with the fat vs. protein vs. carb ratios? Are these ratios the same for everyone?
  • I totally respect your desire to loose weight. I am 5’4 and 142 and trying to get back to 120 and many people on MFP tried to say 142 is healthy for my height. On my body frame I can assure you it is not!!!! I’ve never been this heavy my whole life and it’s showing all over my mid section.
  • Okay TMI but I’ve noticed constipation since I’ve started counting calories. I’m drinking a lot of water. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. The only good thing is that once I go, I loose a good amount. Until then, nothing much and an uncomfortable tummy. Have you figured out what it is?
  • A sweet lady suggested I join this group, so here I am! January 1: 146 lbs CW: 142 lbs Feb 14 GW: 135 lbs UGW: 120 lbs I am only 5’4 with a very small framed body. The weight loss has been slow and steady so far. I’ve never been in the 140’s except pregnancy so I’m dying to see the scale in the 130’s again. It’s been a…
  • Keep up the good work! I was hoping for 2 a week and I’m learning fast it’s going to be closer to one pound per week. It’s hard to be so patient with so much sacrifice. Like you, I started the challenge at 146 January 1. Aiming for 120 by June. I am 142 currently.
  • It looks like it’s set to 2 pounds per week.
  • I am 5'4 and 141 currently. I was 146 on January 1. I have been 120-130 my whole adult life until the last six months from a family situation leading to depression. I have a VERY small body frame. I know some people can weight 140 and be fine at my height, but on my body frame, this has lead to a lot of extra fat in my…
  • I've always heard that you notice weight loss first in your fingers and your face. I've only lost five pounds since actively trying and have noticed my ring looser for sure. I'd also like to think my face looks slightly thinner, but I think that part is in my head haha.
  • Thank you all. MFP had suggested 1200 calories based on my numbers, so that's what I had trusted. I will have to reevaluate if my BMR is saying 1428. I have been losing the last 12 days, but sounds like maybe 1200 is a bit too drastic? I am guessing that though I have been aiming for 1200, I am probably not being exact…
  • What is TDEE? Man. I have a lot to learn! That is where I was confused, then. I thought that if your BMR was 1428 then that's what you need to sustain where you are. But I need to lose. So that's not right?
  • My BMR is 1428.15 so to lose weight, I would certainly need to be around 1200.
  • I am not sure I understand the macros thing. Is this it? It looks like I am OVER on fat.
  • No I am 20 pounds over weight. I have a VERY small bone frame. I have been 120-130 my whole adult life and due to some depression issues the last year, spiked 15 pounds. Trust me when I say that the 140-146 I am at right now is not appropriate for me. Lot of extra fat around my midsection right now.
  • SW 1/2/19 146 CW 1/8/19 143 GW for Challenge by 2/14/19 136 Final GW 120 by June 6 (DISNEY!)
  • Thank you for explaining. I guess this is what I mean. We have been eating in and healthy every meal the last seven days. I was hoping for a cheese quesadillas from our local Chipotle-like Latin restaurant. This is not something I'd usually eat when eating healthy. But if the equation really does just comes down to…
  • Many of you are suggesting that the 140's is "normal" for my height of 5'4. I should add that I have a very small frame (size 4 ring finger!). I have been 115-130 my whole adult life and been "normal" at these weights- never skinny. I can assure you that on my body, 140's is NOT right. I would share the pictures but my…
  • I am only 5’4 so 1200 is acceptable. I only do like exercise such as yoga or maybe a 10 minute cardio video at max.
  • Out of curiosity, what is the “tare” feature???
  • I am aiming for less carbs, too. I actually recently made a post about this, too. I was informed by some helpful members that carbs are not horrible as long as they fit in your calorie goal. But I think that I am having so many carbs and not enough protein that I am left hungry with carbs thus eating more which IS leading…

  • I have a condition where blood makes me faint. I once saw meat being cooked and linked it to the body/blood and now the thought of eating it makes me want to be ill. I fed meat to my husband and children. It's just mental for me. I've lived 18 years like this, so I don't think anyone can convince me otherwise haha.
  • When I say carbs, sadly I am referring to pizza, bread, potatoes, all the BAD carbs. You are right, I do need a more well rounded diet. I am not vegan, so I do eat eggs regularly as well as tofu etc. A healthy weight for me is 118-120 and somehow since stopping nursing after doing it for six year (two kids at years each-…
  • I am late to the party it seems! Not sure I can do the whole 10 pounds by February 14th but I am going to try! Hoping a few of these pounds were water weight from the holidays. CW: 146 lbs GW: 120 lbs I’m only 5’4
  • Thanks for posting this. Misery loves company, I guess. I finally weighed myself for the first time since Thanksgiving for this very reason and I am ashamed to say I am heavier than I ever have been. I had done so well this summer and the cold season does not do well for me. Here’s to new changes.
