  • I am going by what the machines told me after inputting my age and weight, so if you think there’s any exaggeration perhaps put it in that rather than accusing me of over exaggerating as that’s what you’re coming across as. Anyhow, that was the one and only time I have ever done such a long session in the gym. I hover…
  • Wow, I never knew that was a thing!!😳
  • Not quite sure why you see it as unhealthy? I kept within my physical limits and didn’t push myself to the breaking point, but rather prolong that one gym session. I didn’t feel exhausted afterwards either.
  • No that was not me exaggerating. 1 hour treadmill (15th incline, 5.3 speed) 1 hour X-Ride (8th level) 1 hour stationary bike, medium pace.
  • Just finished my 2 hours at gym today and feel in a better frame of mind today. I think I’d like to just eat 100 calories less than my daily goal for the next week so it balances out the damage from yesterday.
  • Thanks everyone, means a lot to have such a supportive community. My cousins funeral was today which was abroad and I wasn’t able to go. My grandad is also very poorly with lung cancer , I’ve booked flights to go back home to see him in a few weeks and I just hope he can hold out. Partner and I also had an argument due to…
  • Thank you! The amount of exercise is nothing new to me, I’m used to it :) No I can assure you that it’s 2 hours exercise every day, I’m fully committed to it. And I’ve become obsessed at logging everything I eat 😂
  • Then I really do not understand why the dietitian is telling me to keep within 1800 calories including all the exercise I am doing. She absolutely knows the amount and frequency of exercise that I do.
  • So lets say my daily calorie limit is 1800 (that's including 500 deficit), and I then burn 1,100 calories through exercise, is my daily calorie limit then 2800-2900? I've read somewhere on the forum that you're meant to eat back the calories burned through exercise, is that correct?
  • I've been doing it for 2-3 months now, although the first few months was using my own older exercise bike at home. I've only recently included it as part of a weight loss plan, as I wasn't really bothered about my weight until recent.
  • I usually do a mixture of exercise bike, cross trainer, rowing machine and treadmill. Today it was 1hr 15mins on cross trainer and 45 mins on exercise bike, cross trainer said 800 calories and exercise bike 300 calories ( I didn't input my weight, for some damned reason it won't let me, so may be more than what they stated)
  • Because it tells me that if I wanted to maintain my current weight to have 3,454 calories per day. If I take away 500 that's still 2,954. It then also says the amount of calories to reach my goal should be 2,763 calories per day. The dietitian I saw told me to stick to eating within a range of 1500-1800 per day (although…
  • I clock on average 16,000-18,000 steps per day (that's not including anything I do in the gym)
  • Would you eat back the calories that you have burned during purposeful exercise? I thought the purpose of exercising was to not eat back the calories..? If I need educating please do so .
  • No not at all, I just enjoy doing it. I find it really satisfying. Exercising isn't a problem for me, rather calorie limitation is what I need to improve upon.
  • Yep I already have used a TDEE calculator but I think it seems a bit high (see below):
  • Oops so it does... I'll go and put the dunce hat on LOL.. but even if I take 1000 from that, that's still 2454, which is 800-1000 more than what the dietitian said to keep to. Can I safely go with the 2454 and still lose weight, even if it's 1lbs per week or thereabouts?
  • It does include the exercise according to the above picture
  • *Side question* If my TDEE is 2622 calories, but I've been told to stick to 1500 per day. If say I exercise and manage to burn 1000 calories through that, does that mean that I can safely consume more than 1500 in that particular day whilst still being in deficit?
  • I have been doing that amount of exercise for a few months now, except that was at home on a rather old exercise bike. I don't feel weak or burned out, I find it really satisfying at the end of a session. It's somewhat addictive really. Re the exercise, I did mention this to her straight away, and initially she said stick…
