  • "fellow rebuild"... I like that! I had hoped my surgery could be done keyhole but was too complex over a large area. Glad to hear that your recovery is going well though. So many stories of bad mesh outcomes it's always reassuring to hear about the good.
  • Thanks. That's good to hear.
  • Thanks for the advice. Guess I'm just impatient. I like to have targets to aim for. I understand avoiding lifting but I'll talk to Dr again about walking targets. So far I'm only at 10 minutes.
  • Chris here from Thurrock! Been off community following surgery but slowly getting back into good habits! Lost 2½st before the op now hoping to lose 1st more as soon as given the ok. Could use the support & chit chat!
  • Thank you both. I am only 2wks post op so still having to wear binder. Four hernias were repaired and a full abdominal wall reconstruction performed. (basically I had everything taken out & was repacked with 4 individual mesh repairs. Then the excess skin that had stretched after 12 years was removed. All this left me with…
  • Thank you all for your replies. The softener arrives today so hopefully relief will soon follow. I've never taken anything like it before so fingers crossed. Yes you're right about my being scared to eat. I may be over reacting but I'm not sure how to overcome this..
  • I believe its intestinal. bruising as well as the pain meds. I'm only now being able to read what was actually done seems like they played tetris with tubes, a full "repacking" but at least everything is where it should be now. x
  • I'm in the same situation. My weight over the course of a week varies by 6lb! It's demoralising! (which then makes me think what's the point!) It then puts me in such a bad mood. I'm sticking with my calorie count limits every day but it's been the wrong type of calories... No breakfast & an orange for lunch so I can have…
  • Before lock down I was running on the treadmill every day... Then my sons college was closed & hubby was furloughed. I haven't used the treadmill since. It sounds silly but I get really anxious when people know I'm on it! I really don't know why but having them at home is really putting me off! The idea of running outside…
  • Third time lucky posting I hope... My replies don't seem to be registering Thanks for the link to YouTube stretches I've been trying to keep my stretches going since my frozen shoulder but a year later they are still only 50% where they should be... Sorry I couldn't find a link from your profile... Got meeting with…
  • Oops thought my reply posted but apparently not! I don't know what caused the costochondritis, it was only diagnosed after I had been taken to A&E 4 times thinking I was having a heart attack. Each time they would test for heart attack then send me home with painkillers as the tests came back clear. One Dr there however…
  • I've heard of that, will have to get a copy.im aware diet makes a difference but I worry that I'll end up having to prepare different meals for the whole family though. Saying that I did cook a turkey saag that I added baking soda to & didn't have reflux after! Dr has changed me back to omeprazole but twice a day now so…
  • Thanks to all that replied
  • Have found an Rd in the next town so shall be booking in ASAP! £100 an hour but I think will definitely be worth it.
  • I've told hubby & son today that there will be no meals on the sofa anymore. So far I've learned that one coffee is my limit of caffeine (I can manage decaf after that) and but I had a salad for dinner with a little red onion a couple of Slices each cucumber, dill Pickle & tomato and I took a rennie tablet & although I had…
  • Rice Cakes! Flavoured with sour cream, marmite, salt & Vinegar or dipped in dark chocolate... I can't get enough! 😂
  • Lorrpb beat me to it. I always weigh before I cook & add for amounts of oil/spray as well. My recipes section on here is full of my family faves that I have calculated calories using each ingredient.
  • Rice Cakes with cream cheese! Granted its a low fat cream cheese but I get so stressed if I don't have a few rice cakes (4 on a good day 6 on a bad) They satisfy my need to crunch & the sour cream flavoured ones are amazing! But I can't stop!
  • OMG why have I never thought to do this before! Sounds yummy! 😋
  • Apullum Thanks for the info.
  • Kimney I've heard of things like plant stenols can help lower cholesterol in a matter of weeks (if you believe the advertising) & I know Lecithin is sold as a fat metaboliser but I want to get things cleared with the clinic before I supplement. X
  • Kimney72 His concern over the low hdl was due to my having fatty liver & that even with 2st loss it has not increased. Tests have shown that my liver is working well but it "could do with a bit more help" I'm on 1200cal daily don't smoke & haven't had alcohol for a few months. He's approved my walking as he knows I was…
  • Hollis100 Thank you so much. I have looked online but I'll admit to being overwhelmed and confused by it all. My diet has changed for the better less prosessed meat (barely any now) I've replaced minced beef with soy protein for chilli & bolognese meals and increased pulses & vegetable intake & have lost 2st. The weight…
  • And has the unfortunate side effect of bloating with its own affects! Lol The Injections seem to have helped & the rash that appeared within 2 shots is now receeding but I'm going to research the sublingual drops for in-between shots.
  • Hi all I've finished the 6 loading doses & will now got another every 12 weeks(I may be able to get them every 8wks but that's dependent upon gp UK) The IF test was inconclusive but its my understanding that about half these tests are incorrect anyway. The receptionist let it slip that a b12 test in 2007 showed me as…
  • It's very rarely in the 30s here & when it is its usually short lived! I'm used to low 20s & the highest I'll usually go out in is 28. We've tried going earlier in the morning but it's still pushing my limits! Looks like it's back to indoor step aerobics with a fan! Lol
  • Thanks for the hugs all. I have been to dr he's the one who put me on propranolol as I had an episode while talking to him. He said they are for the immediate calming effect & only for a month then we can talk things over & find another non medicine way. The tests I had at the hospital proved my heart was OK in fact he…
