Yeah, a lot of it isn’t necessarily new, because she specifically is encouraging people to bring back lots of old movements many of us have given up as technology makes us more comfortable.

I’ve only lived in Australia. I spent a lot of my life barefoot, but the past decade, I’ve rarely done it at all. Reading up on Nutritious Movement has really made me reflect on how I’ve been living and thinking about why I’ve been stuck in certain habits, and where I’d like to make changes. Katie talks about how cushioned…

Thanks for your replies. I definitely agree that anything that raises your TDEE is a good thing. Basically, the founder. Katie Bowman, coined the term, ‘nutritious movement’, because she wanted people to think similarly to the way we view diet: the foods we eat in a day. So, she started thinking about her exercise ‘diet,’…

Yep! Endometriosis here.

I would let her know that weighing foods and counting calories is simply for the purpose of scientific accuracy, and not an indication of your mental state.
-
I agree. You need the app.

I’m 46 and have been peri for the past 4-5 years. I cannot wait for menopause.

My skin looked a little worse when I first reached goal, but I think it settles over time, somewhat. I’ve also started using tret, and that helps a lot. For the most part though, it’s worth a few wrinkles when I feel so much healthier. Ageing is a part of life.

I have endometriosis and lost the weight I needed to, and am in maintenance now. Hi everyone!

I found a really good chair yoga series on Prime Video, so that I can safely do some exercise during my current endo flare.

I echo the sentiments about the importance of eating in a deficit. However: pumpkins are a fantastic food. For starters, if it’s getting you to eat more vegetables, that’s always something to encourage. Pumpkins have lots of vitamin A, and are a good source of fibre. Yes, they have some carbs. We need to eat carbs! Carbs…

I think, you haven’t been feeling your best lately, and your coworkers have noticed that and have conflated it to your weight loss. They aren’t doctors. People need to understand that even skinny people have moments when they don’t feel great or get sick.

They’re the same.

I think it’s fantastic. I would love to eat it, but I am on the low FODMAP diet, so it wouldn’t suit me personally.

I haven’t found any dvds that teach Kundalini. I did see loads of books about it on Amazon, if that helps. I don’t currently do Kundalini yoga, so I haven’t tried any of the books, yet. But I plan to try it down the track.

I have chronic pain. I exercise when I can, and if it’s too painful, I give myself a break but continue to eat within my calorie budget.

Yesterday, I played on the flying fox at the park with my kids. Last time I used it, I was overweight. This time, at a healthy weight, I felt like I was flying, and I thoroughly enjoyed the rush.

No, I don’t think they should. It’s not in the children’s best interests.

If we had a law that only factual information about weight management was allowed to be posted on the internet.

How would I feel? Brilliant.

I’m on the fence about it. I think it sounds great for people with epilepsy and similar issues. Whether or not it helps you to lose weight depends on whether or not you’re in a calorie deficit. Personally, I’m not interested in eating that way, so there’s no point. I’m in an endometriosis group, and some women in there…

I remember another one: when I was 18, I was trying to eat more healthily, but my parents did all the cooking. They used to drown everything in olive oil because they believed it was healthy. I asked if we could start cooking the meals with less fat. My dad said, ‘oh, there’s no fat in our food, we always use olive oil and…

Years ago: a friend was trying to lose weight. I mentioned she was eating a lot of chocolate for someone wanting to lose weight. She said, ‘oh, it’s fine. This gives me energy.’ I asked her if she knew the measure of energy. Blank look. ‘Calories. If you want to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories, which is energy,…

Could you challenge yourself to find new ways to relax and celebrate your time off? What about hanging out at the beach or pool?

Such a great way to put it.

I’m 5’2. During weight loss, I started on 1200 calories and towards the end, was given 1,100 (different app to this one). Now I maintain at 1,530 calories.

Another thing I do to keep my head in the game is I look at my new clothes and focus on how much I’m enjoying wearing them. I keep up the good work so I can continue to fit them.

I have been a healthy weight, overweight and underweight (when I was a low income student). When I was overweight, I got fat shamed by one person, ONCE. When I was underweight, I had family members gossiping behind my back saying I was anorexic. I knew I was underweight, I was trying to gain weight, but didn’t have the…

It’s definitely a fantastic cardio exercise. I lost all my weight with this as my favourite workout.

I remember all the hard work it took to reach my goal weight. It’s easier to keep it off than to have to go back and lose it again. I know I’d be really upset with myself if I threw all that away.
