  • Don’t understand. Sorry.

  • I’m using the default but am going to switch to lower carbs for health reasons. I’ll “give” the reduction to protein.
  • I work 50+ hours a week at my regular job (teacher) and 20+ hours a week at my side job (dog trainer). I just took on a third obligation (pet detective) that has me out and about a lot and watching certain social media platforms. Oh, I also teach classes (not counting my teaching job) at local shelters. I teach a 5 week…
  • Why?

  • If you aren't using a food scale--this is probably where you are going wrong. You might be eating more than you think you are.
  • OP: I noticed that you haven't responded back. What were you hoping we'd say? I can eat for a week of a bag on dried beans and some ground beef. Do you cook? Most economical meals involve some preparation.
  • We have no idea of what you like (and just a tiny bit about what your family likes). We have no idea how much or little time you like to spend in the kitchen. We don't know what your cooking skills are; what appliances you have, etc. We don't know if you/your family have any food allergies or strong dislikes. I could spend…
  • I eat a very small breakfast (coffee with creamer--130 cals) and small lunch (protein bar or drink--200 cals) and a very large dinner of whatever I want (800+ calories). This works for me. Dinner seems pre-diet normal and that helps me feel full and satisfied. If I'm way under on calories after dinner I have a beer or wine…
  • I'm going to drop my weight loss expectations down to 1 pound/week after a week of a diet break/refeed in August. I started with a weight loss goal of 85-90lbs, so 2 pounds a week was reasonable. Now that I'm at 185, it's "aggressive" and I intend to ease up a bit for the remainder of my weight loss--after August 8th. I'm…
  • Plug in your stats and see. I'm 5'6" and weigh185. My stats say that if I eat 1200 calories a day the most I can lose is 1.8lbs/week. I started in March at 225lbs. I was losing 2-3lbs per week in March and April on 1300kcal/day. I dropped down to 1200/day when I "only" lost 5lbs in May. June was -5lbs while eating…
  • It sounds like you are on a good path. Just make sure what you are doing (both diet and exercise) is sustainable forever. It's a grind for sure and it gets boring after a while. Do things to keep your palette, your mind, and your body feeling loved and satisfied.
  • If you don't have a digital scale with a flat plate, ability to weigh in grams, and a tare feature then go buy one right now! Then start by weighing every solid food you put into your mouth and then logging them. Weigh or measure every liquid with calories and log them.
  • Welcome! Wishing you continued success.
  • I gained my weight fairly quickly--about 80lbs in a year. A lot happened in that year: I was hit with a surprise divorce that I didn't want; I lost everything in that divorce; I wound up nearly homeless; I picked out a series of horrible house mates; menopause hit; and I was pretty depressed and sorry for myself. Then I…
  • Weight loss is weird. I started in March 2019 and lost 10lbs in March and 10lbs in April. In May and June, I lost about 5lbs each month. If I keep doing what I'm doing (and my body keeps doing what it's doing); I'm on target to lose 15lbs in July. I did drop my daily caloric amount about 80kcal/day last month. I have not…
  • It seems to me that you are trying to convince us (and perhaps your medical team) that you are a true metabolic anomaly that gains weight while living like an air fern. I noticed that you pick and choose which posts you respond to; you seem to be ignoring the questions and comments that come from posters whose input is not…
  • I can trim my toenails without wheezing for breath and taking breaks between each toe.
  • I am also a sweet treat fiend! I quit them all together at first, but I do go to a monthly get-together with friends and there is always cake. I limit myself to the one piece of cake per month and I relish it! Now that I've been dieting for a few months, resisting is more the norm than the exception. My cravings have…
  • I'm having success NOT using it, so I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing. No disrespect to those who find it helpful....
  • Bread and fast food. I didn't have either frequently before dieting and have even less now.
  • Don't like it and don't eat it.
  • If it works for you and yours, then YAY! I do most of my own cooking for evening meals and just weigh out the amount that fits into my caloric budget.
  • I think you need therapy and a registered dietitian way more than you need suggestions from random Internet strangers.
  • I add a tablespoon or more of finely chopped, roasted habenero pepper to a small jar of peach preserves and use that to season my salmon (I like it on pork too). Salmon is a fish that does well with sweet and/or spicy seasonings. If I don't want the added sugar from the preserves, I use MCCORMICK® GRILL MATES® SMOKEHOUSE…
  • I rarely drink soft drinks, but when I do I drink diet if my calories can't support regular; and regular if my calories can support it. Edit: I never developed the "taste" for sodas, so when I say I rarely have one, I mean once every 3-4 months. I do like Topo Chico as a change from plain water and have one of those every…
  • I'm going to read the thread asap, but wanted to post first. I started dieting on March 11 and have lost about 36lbs. Just this week I've noticed that I've been super hungry. It hasn't happened until recently. I'm going to try to hold off until August 1st for my break because I'm going on a week long vacation. I'm trying…
  • To me the healthiest version of me that I can be--and to be able to get up off the floor without using something to grab on to.
  • We have no idea of what you like, what you are able and willing to make, what you dislike, what's available in your area, etc. We don't know what your goals are or anything about you. YOU are the best person to use Google to come up with something sustainable for YOU. I could spend hours making you a weekly plan that…
