Is the Peachtree City Classic your next race?

I am probably a 1 though I wear the same style shoe. But I have 6 pairs. I save one pair for races only so they’re nice and comfy and I rotate the other 5. The Saucony Kineta Relays are really only good for about 250 running miles- I don’t log walking so they’re probably at the 300 mile mark when I toss them. I also have…

Any chance your sister lives at a higher elevation than what you are used to running at? I was down in Mexico City a few months ago and didn't realize the elevation was 7300' where I was staying (I live at 900'). Totally destroyed my runs.

I hope everything works out for you.

@ContraryMaryMary @PastorVincent Thank you. I checked out the page and it gave me some numbers. I wanted to make sure I was in range and not running too hard or too slowly though the summer heat and humidity make the runs feel harder than really what they are. 8.02: 7.0M Long Run (7.0) 8.03: Scheduled Rest Day 8.04- 8.10:…

@kgirlhart @zamirasoni @shanaber Thank you for the well wishes. I finally started feeling better this weekend. I had to skip five runs from August 4 to 9 because I was sick with strep throat. That puts me 23.5 miles behind on my monthly goal. It was also week 2 of a 12 week 15K training plan. Anyway: 8.02: 7.0M Long Run…

I don't have regular access to a pool so I can't join you in your challenge, but I agree, with building a plan to get you to swim longer distances. I guess to give your muscles a break while swimming, jogging in the pool could be your "walk" breaks and the swimming could be the running part of C25K? I guess you would have…

I have strep throat. Everything hurts, I don't want to talk or walk, much less run and breath heavily, and Gatorade and OJ are the only things I want to eat. This sucks. I'll catch up with all your posts tomorrow. Who the heck gets strep throat as an adult in the summer? Maybe it's my punishment for diving into that hotel…

It is!!

I'm in for 105 miles in August, Training plan calls for 109 but I had to run tomorrow's run today (July 31) due to an all-day work commitment so I'm not going to punish myself for having to rearrange my days. I signed up for a 15K on October 19. I am also trying to lose some weight. On top of this, I will be traveling for…

Good speed work. I think last week I made it from my bedroom into the bathroom in 1.74935 seconds. Feel better.

Where is the Groundhog Race? It’s my favorite day of the year. Would love to run a Groundhog Day Race.

@katharmonic Great Race! I love the 15K/10M distance!!!

@Tramboman @Scott6255 @PastorVincent @Teresa502 @katharmonic Thank you! The race is always fun. I'm sort of bummed I don't have another race coming up to train for, but also sort of relieved that I don't have an excuse about having to train and therefore can't be in a caloric deficit. 07.01: 3.0M Taper Run (3.1) 07.02:…

Hi Everyone! Happy July! I'm sorry I disappeared the second half of June- I moved some work shifts from July into June and then was sidelined with a stomach virus at the end of the month. July is always a "recovery" month for me since my A race of the year is July 4th (The Atlanta Peachtree Road Race) so I'm setting a nice…

Planning on being Alcohol Free all month except for July 4 (my A race of the year), July 11 OR 12, July 23, and July 24. My Birthday is July 23 and a lot of our friends are social drinkers so there will be dinners to enjoy and afternoons at the pool. My best friend's birthday is July 24 so we will also celebrate her…

I was planning on only drinking June 7, 14, and either 28 or 29 (depending on my work schedule) but I won a running race on June 22 so I had a bellini to celebrate. So I skipped June 28/29 and instead drank on June 22. So in the end, still only had alcohol 3 days. I ended the month with a stomach virus, 4 lbs heavier…

Hello!! I'm sorry I deserted you all the second half of June. Work got busy and while I kept up with my running for the most part, I didn't keep up here. Then I was lucky enough to contract a stomach virus that kept me from leaving the bathroom June 29 and 30. Anyway, I finished the month with 70.8 miles logged. I entered…

Got my 5.5Ms in and now just having a quick lunch. Run wasn't the greatest but the heat index was hovering around 91-92. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday (or Monday for those a day ahead)! :)
-
Alcohol free every day except Friday June 7 and 14 as planned.
-
Skipped two runs last week because I didn't feel well at all. Never got sick, but I was tired, my legs felt heavy, and had no desire to go out and run. So I gave myself a pass for a few days and will pick up where I left off this week. I have a 5K race on Saturday and a 10K on July 4th. I'm hoping whatever funk I'm in…

Alcohol free every day in June except June 7 as planned. Even made it a night in Vegas with a Diet Coke.

Still on a work trip. Came down to my hotel’s gym despite having no energy from a poor night’s sleep and made it a whopping 1.5M before throwing in the towel. Heart rate was 180-190 according to my FitBit and Treadmill when I cross checked it and I was sweating like a mad man. I have no idea what happened. Yesterday I ran…

What a treat today! I came out to Missoula, MT for work and my run was along the river here. What a perfect day, sunny, 70, 24% humidity with lots of birds, blue sky, green trees, and snow capped mountains. My 5.5 miles took me 52 minutes but it was so incredibly pretty. I was bummed the trail was gravely and rocky so I…
