  • I eat casein protein mixed in with greek yogurt. Casein is a nice slow absorption protein.
  • I'm 6'3", 175 pounds, and 44 (now). I started in 2019 at 218 pounds. My life changed following Coach Greg Doucette's Circle Diet (Anabolic Diet). I own his cookbook (and Remington James' cookbook). My biggest passion is cycling. I've always been a mountain biker, but I took up road biking when the gyms shutdown during the…
  • Google search ridiculous brownies. Made with diet coke; eat the entire pan without the guilt. You're welcome.
  • I started on MFP Jan 19 and it helped me shed 40 pounds. I picked up road cycling during the early months of the pandemic and was quickly addicted to cycling. Last year I set a personal goal to hit 10% body fat at 43 years old. I accomplished the goal and mfp was a large part of the success. I wasn't able to use the app…
  • I've been off the platform for about 9 months, but I'm back. I lost 40 pounds doing CICO and being very active. I'm always looking out for my friends. Feel free to add me.

  • I'm going to attempt single digit (not a long term goal) just to see if I have the discipline to get there. I use a pair of fat calipers for now. I'm planning to go get a DEXA scan here soon so I have a more accurate baseline.
  • I lost over 40 pounds in 8 months when I started my journey back in 2019. I've managed to keep it off all through 2020. I haven't missed a log day since I started. Feel free to add me. I'm very active in my physical fitness and I'm on here every day.

  • Without jumping too far down the rabbit hole eating in a deficit will result in weight loss. How much weight loss is based off a lot of personal factors and whatever your weight loss goal may be.
  • Legs: squats, weighted lunges, deadlifts. 62 mile road bike ride. It was a good leg day.
  • If your goal is weight loss you need to calculate your TDEE (online calculator here - https://legionathletics.com/tdee-calculator/). When you are filling it out be honest about your activity level. Once you finish and hit calculate it will give provide you a baseline TDEE (it's not going to be exact). If you want to lose…
  • You should not eat back exercise calories if you are trying to lose weight. As already stated earlier, it can be very inaccurate and potentially derail your weight loss goals (assuming that is your goal). The easiest technique, and one I used to drop 40 lbs, is to calculate your TDEE. Once you have that calorie number…
  • I hit the weights Mon, Wed, and Sat. Tues, Thurs, and Fri I cycle 25-30 miles. Sat is my "Gran Fondo" day. I cycle anywhere from 75 - 100 miles. Sunday is my recovery ride day; I usually do around 20 miles. Occasionally, I'll change some days around if my legs are tired. Rinse and repeat.
  • Click Premium > Different Goals by Day. Under Set Custom Daily Goals click Add Daily Goal. From there you can tailor your caloric intake by day.
  • I'm 43. Lost 40 pounds over a year and a half ago and kept it off. I've managed to stay lean around 12-14% body fat just changing my nutrition and workout intensity. I'm always looking for team mates.
  • Not true. I gained 14 pounds on a clean bulk w/o protein shakes. The key for me was meal planning; I knew what I was going to eat for the week and made certain I would hit my goals.
  • I used a personal trainer at a cost of $900 a month for 5 days a week one-on-one coaching (roughly $45/hour). The key for me was finding a young trainer who was starting to grow his business. All the established trainers I looked into were $80-$100/hr. I don't use him anymore, but the things I learned will stick with me…
  • Budget and invest more.
  • 1000 calories of French Toast goodness. This is my typical weekend breakfast before I head out for an 80-100 mile road bike ride.
  • I ran a clean bulk last year. It took me 13-14 months to gain 14 lbs doing about 100-200 calories above maintenance. I started at 176 and got to 190 just as the gyms were shutting down. I'm back to 173 since I started cycling 5-6 days a week; it was tough to keep up.
  • IMO calculating my own TDEE and eating under/at/above (goal dependent) is the easiest way to do business in MFP. When I was eating in a deficit and gained weight I'd knock off 100 calories and go another couple weeks. I kept all of my data in an excel sheet and after a few months I was able to really zero in on my TDEE.…
  • My weight fluctuates by wide margins since I cycle a lot. For example, 14 Sep I weighed in at 178.1 pounds. On 18 Sep after a 102 mile ride I weighed in at 168.7. The morning after the ride I was 172.6. This morning, 21 Sep, I weighed in at 175.7 (My normal weight range). I wouldn't worry about your weight fluctuating +/-…
  • 43 here. I radically changed my nutritional and activity goals January 2019 and haven't looked back. I'd say that I'm in better shape at 43 than I was at 23 or 33. I exercise 7 days a week (sometimes twice a day). That includes cycling 100-120 miles a week, strength training, HIIT, or just flexibility drills. The best…
  • Feel free to add me. I'm 40, motivated military, and lost 36 pounds using MFP. I'm on here every day.
