My body mechanics has me maxed at a 255lb bench. Anything above that and my shoulder pops and grinds or my wrists begin to sprain.

+1 this post. I can run a 20k at a good pace, but I simply can’t break through 20k at pace. (Not to mention an ultra!) There is a guy named David Goggins who decided to run an ultramarathon without really training. He might have even placed. It is a pretty neat read.

Do a muscle-up. It requires months of training or peak physical fitness.

I’m a big guy (6’4” and 220lbs), lift hard 5 times a week and I also run half marathons. The key to success for me was to stop the squats and leg presses and do long runs instead. I’ve recently incorporated hill sprints as well. Squats were burning my legs out to the point that I could barely do a 3k without my legs…

I work out hard for 6 six days, and rest and blow out my calories on the 7th day.

Thank you, Runnergirl!

“Relationship will too” Yes, that ship did sail a few years back.

I deleted Facebook last year! No more daily doses of cats, politics or ads! 😂. I’ve really enjoyed MFP though!

This is how I feel about squats. I hate, hate, hate squats.

As mmapags said, your legs are rockin’! They look great! 💪😎

Remember that if you are new to exercising, your body will build muscle quickly (newbie gains)! The weight will come off, just give your body some time to adjust to the new routine 💪😎

The hill sprints were brutal, in a good way. Thank you for that. I consider myself to be in pretty good shape, but my lungs and legs were BURNING. I collapsed after the second set.

Unfortunately, a lot of it is just genetics 🧬! No matter how much I work on my chest, my shoulders grow and my chest stays the same. lol.

Just keep logging in miles. I’d slowly try and get your 10k under 60min before making the next mileage leap. What worked for me was doing 3x 5k a week and 1x 10k a week, with a focus on trying to get a slightly better (or even) time each week. Just keep logging those miles! You are doing great!! 💪😀

Squats, squats and more squats.

Hill sprints today. Thanks for the advice.

Okay. I have a very challenging hill near my place. I will try to intensify my runs while climbing it. Thank you! 🙏👍💪

Hi Claire! 💪

I’ve done IF for a while and it does work. 1st week or two your body has to adjust, after that it will start burning fat like crazy. Needs to be combined with strength training and a slight caloric deficit.
