I'm 5'2" and some days 1200 is not enough for me and I'm hungry all day. I can't even imagine doing sub-1200 with 6 extra inches of height to feed!

Do you have a TV in your bedroom? I ask because I cannot sleep with a TV anywhere where I can see or hear it; it just keeps my brain on high alert. You should remove it from where you sleep posthaste; it's been proven that noise, light, and movement will keep your brain in a heightened state at bedtime. I have a similar…

Gradually decrease the amount of creamer every day? It's how I weaned myself off of it. I drink my coffee black now and enjoy it.

Remember that your body is taking a LONG-TERM AVERAGE of your caloric intake and exercise levels to determine whether to lose fat or not. It's normal to stall out while your body "waits" to see what you're going to do. Stick with it, do not give up, and do not beat yourself up over "cheat" days as long as your weekly…

god why are some people so awful! My ex told me I was fat, ugly, stupid, and that no one would ever love me. Now I'm hotter than his new (younger) wife and about to get my professional doctorate degree. WINNING

I know it sounds bad, but using spite as my motivator has been extremely effective. It also helps me bring up any residual emotions and sweat them out while I work out. I'm a calmer and more well-rounded person after I exercise.

Spite! LOL. Want to make my ex eat crow. Also, I want to be the kind of parent who still wins footraces against my kid until she's taller than me. And I want to keep my amazing dog in shape so he lives as long as possible--lots of outdoor running and hiking to keep him fit.

The way measuring with a tape would be accurate is to choose the same time of day (right away in the morning is best, in my opinion), just like you do with a scale. Right away in the morning, you've probably just relieved yourself and haven't yet begun to consume food or beverages for the day, so in my opinion that's the…

Simple/processed carbohydrates are far, far, faaaar worse for you than cholesterol could ever be. It's true that plant-based diets will likely reduce your cholesterol levels, but keep in mind that many types of cholesterol are both protective and necessary for normal hormonal/biological function. Cholesterol is also the…

For example, my regular dumbbells I lift with at home on a daily basis are 20#. Not those little 3# or 5# things.
-
I agree with lawmomathome. Also, she said to "lift light weights" but I would encourage to lift as heavy as you can. It's a myth that lifting heavy weights causes bulk; hormonally, we're just not cut out for bulk. I find the more and heavier I lift in a week (in addition to focused aerobic exercise, not just keeping up…

I eat mushrooms but you can't deny they taste like fluffy, mossy dirt.

So the control group lost 4.4% with a placebo, while the test group lost 6.4% with the real pill. I'm...underwhelmed? I suppose that's why they qualified it as needing to be used alongside diet and exercise.

awesome! They do look delicious.

Yes, Zombies! Run is a fantastic starting-running app. Really fun!

We're having tacos tomorrow at work and your post is getting me HYPED

OP, have you made this recipe? Pics? How did they taste?

Hi everyone! I'm late to the game but trying to celebrate the little wins and join in the fun. I used to be ~115-118 lbs about 4 years ago and felt and looked AMAZING. I want that confidence back! I only set myself a calorie deficit on the level of losing 0.5 lbs a week, but I've found now that I'm paying attention to what…

I feel your pain. What I've found is really effective is allowing myself to sample the treats. I cut myself 1/3 to 1/2 of the donut/muffin, really savor it, and congratulate myself on compromising (it's nowhere near as harmful as bingeing due to the complete denial/breakdown cycle). Everyone deserves a small treat, and…

I'm not trying to negate your entire viewpoint here, but this is false information. All recent peer-reviewed research has pretty much unanimously shown that LDL cholesterol is NOT a causative factor in heart disease. Cholesterol is a basic building block that our bodies use to create active compounds, such as Vitamin D and…

Here's us running a dogs-allowed 5k recently:
-
My dog Gryffin and I like to run and hike together! We also recently got into agility and he seems to enjoy learning it! Someone in one of his first agility classes told me "old dogs can't learn new tricks" (Gryffin is almost 10) and we're here to prove them wrong.

Wow. You know zipper merging is the recommended and correct way to merge, right? It keeps traffic flowing faster for everyone behind the zipper merge point. People who get butthurt over someone correctly executing a zipper merge are my pet peeve.
-
But like...why? Idk, I just do not understand the outrage over people just driving faster than you (general you, not you specifically) choose to drive? Like you said, just let them by and then they're someone else's problem.

Ticketing brake checkers definitely happens in my state.
-
I mean, if you want to potentially get cited for reckless driving and/or failing to maintain distance between vehicles in the event that you brake-check and cause an accident, go for it. Tailgating and brake-checking are both potentially illegal actions.
-
I always try to remind myself that I have no idea what's going on in that person's life who happens to be tailgating me. There might be an emergency, an appointment they need to get to, they might be having a much worse day than mine, etc.
-
I am the tailgater :D I mean, j/k, I'm not actually that close or tailgating. But I do tend to drive faster than the speed limit. Just let me get around you, I'm not actually trying to make your day worse--you're barely a blip on my radar. I can see the road ahead for miles because we're driving through farmland so I know…
