  • Thank you for this thread. I have had a decreasing heart rate for the last few years, not knowing when it's going to stop. I'm 76, have had the heart monitor and cardiologist telling me there is nothing noteworthy to worry about. I don't have any of the symptoms for bradycardia, so I must be ok. My only problem is when my…
  • If I'm not sure about the item in list I will go to my grocery store website and look up the product and check out the nutrition label to get the proper numbers.
  • Tip I was given for the pin prick. Do it on the side of the finger top instead of the pad. A marked difference in sensation.
  • I love my scale, and I greet her every morning with a positive attitude. The majority of the time it pays off, other times it reminds me that I didn't get enough sleep. If I am up a lb or even 2, I know I didn't eat enough to gain that much weight, that it is fluid and I'm ok with that because a good night's sleep will…
  • I started at 272 about a year and a half ago, I am now down to 220 the most important thing for me was sleep. In order for me to lose at a steady rate was to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night. If I didn't then I would stay the same. Losing water gain overnight will let you see actual fat weight loss on scale.
  • It depends on where exactly you will lose your weight first. My first place is the upper chest area, around the collar bone. If I were to take a picture even months after starting, there would be no change in my image or mind. It actually took me a year to finally notice my 50 lb loss. I can see a difference in your back,…
  • I cross stitch. Have you thought about taking up a hobby to pass the time. Any craft can be found on YouTube to get you started, to show you how to do etc. A hobby is a great way to keep your mind and hands busy and takes you out of the boredom mode. What I also found that helps me a lot, is to get enough sleep. You can…
  • I believe when it says if you ate the same for 5 weeks you would weigh this amount. What it is referring to is the amount of calories. Also, if you log 1000 or less it won't give you anything because it is programed for 1000 plus because anything less, in their logic, is not healthy. That's how I see it anyway.
  • Thanks, I'll check it out.
  • I just discovered the very same thing. A friend had noticed my weight loss and I said, look the fat that is here now is all squishy as opposed to hard. So, definitely a sign of losing fat in my opinion.
  • You will not know the difference with Lakanto Monkfruit with erythritol, granulated sugar substitute. The only downfall is it is expensive, and not so easy to find. It replaces sugar completely for everything, including baking. For me, in Canada, it cost $20 now it's up to $27 a bag, weighing 1.76 lbs = 800 grams. I'm glad…
  • I went from NASH to Cirrhosis. The only advice I got was to eat more healthy, lose weight and quit smoking. All the usual stuff you get from doctors. So, I gave up my potato chips, pastries, pepsi, take out foods, and sugar. However, I do whatever else I want within reason, vegetables, meat, chicken, fish, fruit, and the…
  • For me, if I don't get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep a night, I will show weight gain. The reason for this, even tho I ate my minimum calories or less, I have retained fluid. For me, fluid buildup is a problem. Now that I am sleeping better the fluid is gone and therefore I can focus on fat burning instead of fight fluid…
  • For me, soda keeps me from eating, especially at night. I drink store brand diet cola and I will only pour half a glass at a time, I fill the glass with carbonated water. 1 or 1.5 cans will last me through the day and night.
  • I got over my hump by making sure I got at least 8 hours of sleep a night and I also stopped eating after 8 pm. That's when I started to lose consistently, be it a few ounces over night, it all added up to a pound or more a week, which was my goal. In little over a year I have lost almost 50 lbs. However, I have a lot more…
  • Hello, I have been quietly in the background too shy or not knowing enough to post. But I have been thinking about this very thing a lot. So, this is my chance to ask. In my mind weighing raw gives you more calories than you ingest, if I am wrong please comment. I know it has been written when weighing raw it is mainly for…
  • Hello, New to the group. I had to discover in order to see the latest posts, I need to go to the last pages not the first. My name is Florence but you may call me Flo. I have lived in Nova Scotia all my 74 years as of the upcoming date of June 14. I have been overweight all my life and it never really bothered me so much.…
  • New to the community and I was wondering, why does one need to eat the calories lost through exercise?
  • Hello, my name is Florence or Flo if you prefer. I really never knew there was a community, as all I ever used was the food tracker. I'm glad to find a group of like minded people. I was exploring the site and discovered when I signed up, it was a year ago and at the same weight I am today. I guess I gained all that I lost…
