Have you seen _Brittany Runs a Marathon_? I found it inspiring because it shows someone making changes for herself and sticking it out when it gets hard.

Way to go!!! I got a similar notification today saying I'd just past my half way point. Can't wait to see the notification that looks like yours!

What strength of character you are showing by finding the beautiful beginning. Well done and all the best as you continue!

I'm 51 and in the throes of perimenopause. About 7 years ago, I lost nearly 80 pounds using MFP! Sadly, through my own lack of discipline, I gained nearly 40 of that back. I'm back down 20 pounds since September 2020. It's slow going but that's because I'm choosing that journey. The hormone fluctuations during this period…

Honestly, just getting that next pound. I'm losing VERY slowly, so I'm focusing on each pound that is lost. When my weight goes down only by increments of .1 and .2, every .0 is a new victory!

Yes to all that you said! I know ALL the rules about what's supposed to work and what doesn't. And I mostly follow them, now that I'm back on that wagon. And I'm mostly sanguine about the non-linearity of the scale. But flippin' heck it's annoying.

I ate half a donut this morning. That's a big deal! Let me tell you why. This morning I took my daughter for donuts. It's what she wanted as a reward for a really good report card (we can talk later about using food as a reward!). She got a regular glazed donut and a small kolache. Since I was in the shop, I bought myself…

I am frustrated. I've clearly found a maintenance level as I haven't lost anything significant in almost 4 weeks. My NSV is that I know what is happening, and I can take steps to change it. I'm not giving up. I'm not throwing up my hands and screaming "WHY?!?!?" at the heavens. Instead, because of the great advice from…

Over here! Turned 50 this year, have been working on losing weight since September-ish. I do feel tired and cranky quite a lot, and while some weeks the weight loss seems "easy", there are other 2-3 week stalls. I'm in for the mutual support!

I've been using Noom for about 6 weeks. MFP helped me a lot in the past, but I'd fallen WAY off the wagon. I know all the math rules of CICO and weighing and measuring everything. But Noom has helped me figure out why I was eating the way I was and gives tips on moving forward. I suppose I could have learned that from a…

That's the way to do it! Get back on at your first opportunity; don't wait for tomorrow! Well done!

Yes! Specifically Manishewitz with butter and salt. So good!

Hostess Swiss Rolls, which sounded so good, but was really just chocolate flavored waxy sadness, for 410 calories. It was a moment of weakness on a road trip, and I regretted it almost immediately.

Decided to set my expectations to maintenance for the week and actually maintained! I made mostly goal-oriented food choices, but didn't pass up food I LOVED (hello, southern-made buttermilk biscuits!). My only food-based regret was some gas station Hostess Swiss Rolls which were 410 calories of wax and chocolate flavoring.

I found some trousers in my closet with the tags still on them. No idea when I bought them or why, but they are a size down from where I started. I can't say they look super cute, but I can button and zip them and can breathe while wearing them. So I'll count that as a win!

THIS! This was an eye opener for me. I may make a t-shirt out of it, giving AnnPT77 the credit of course!

That surely is discouraging. To stop it, you need to get to the root of WHY. And while you're discovering it, try to manage each micro decision. I don't have an issue with binging in general, so I can't totally relate. But I have had moments of what another weight loss program calls Storm Eating. You come in at the end of…

Amazing effort and so much to show for it! Well done!

Someone told me that each day offers a set of decisions, some big and some small. With eating, literally each bite is micro-decision. So if you make a few less-than-optimal decisions, your next decision point is right around the corner and on that one you can make a better choice.

Not only does my husband burn more calories just sitting there than I do, he also exercises A LOT more. He's only 2 inches taller than me but can probably eat about 1000 calories more per day than I can. AND when he dishes up food, he's afraid to seem unfair so tries to give me the same amount that he's getting. So, I dish…

PB2 Chocolate on Ak-mak crackers. So weird but so tasty good.

I have NOT let any current stressful situations derail my health goal. Rather than eat my way through the left-over Halloween candy, I brought it to work to let other people enjoy it.

Well done you! We celebrate with you!

I fast-walked 7 miles yesterday in 2 hours! Now, this may not seem like a big deal, and even to me it seems sort of small. You see, I've run 2 marathons and multiple half marathons. But a year ago I had ACL replacement surgery and have had to slowly build back up, so to me, it's a big deal! Of course, I'm VERY tired today…

We unexpectedly went to Fuddrucker's for lunch on Saturday. Rather than freaking out or throwing in the towel I had a turkey burger instead of beef, ditched the bun as too many not-worth-it calories, added extra toppings to make a pseudo-salad, and only ate about 3/4 of the tater tots. The meal could easily have been twice…

It seems to me that the smaller the size, the smaller the weight range within that size. So an size 18 will accommodate 20-30 pounds range but a size 10 will only manage a 10-15 pound range. That range seems to apply both directions, going down and going up. Does that makes sense?

For me it isn't even calorie creep. It's the mindfulness of knowing that I *will* track it that keeps me on the straight and narrow. When I don't track, it's a lot easier to just eat ALL THE FOOD because I can lie to myself that it isn't that bad.

It's a scalar NSV  My first week (I've just started week 4) was great! The scale showed that I lost a few pounds, and I knew it was water weight, but it was nice kick-start. During week 2, and the scale bounced - up a pound, down a pound. I could blame it on my menstrual cycle, and I knew I was sticking to my…

I'll second this one! I even have a treadmill, but the Leslie Sansone videos are a lot more fun and interesting than just walking on the treadmill. She has 30 minute, 45 minute, and longer videos to fit whatever you're trying to get in.

Last week's goal was to add a fruit to at least one meal for 5 of 7 days - and it was met! Yay! This week, my goal is to replace my 2x per week boring (and not particularly useful for me) stationary bike time with an exercise video that challenges me more. My other weekly exercise will stay the same with 2 days on the…
