I just don't worry about what I'm eating as opposed to needing to pay quite close attention. My long runs are always Saturday morning, so Saturday night my husband and I watch a movie and eat lots of chocolate! As a side note, it is only sort of surprising how quickly I can work my way through those extra calories!

I work at an elementary school, so there is ALWAYS food around, and yesterday was no exception. When offered a scrumptious cookie first thing in the morning, I took it, but saved it until after lunch and logged it and was within my calories for the day. Yay!

This for sure. This has saved me many times. "I'll just see what that does to my food diary" has more than once lead to "Are you bleeping kidding me! I'm not eating that!". Great tool!

No. 1840 calories is what MFP thinks you need based on your input to maintain your current weight. You must have indicated that you want to lose a pound a week. It takes a deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound of fat, which averages to 500 calories a day over a 7 day period. That takes your recommended calories to 1340…

Just did this exact swap myself. Although, now I can see that my iron intake is very low. Guess I'll start working on that!

I'm the secretary in an elementary school. This is a desk job but often involves rushing around the school. It isn't as sedentary as my previous job, but there are A LOT more snacks. And they are all in the staff kitchen. Which is right next to my office! I like many of the previous responses about snacking. The habit I'm…

That was a good initial loss! That often happens just after starting weight loss. But getting stuck is so frustrating! You can do it! You can stick with it! Log your food intentionally and drink lots of water, which ironically helps you to get rid of water weight :) Best of luck!

My husband offers me lots of food after dinner (how he stays a manageable weight, I still don't understand!). Fortunately, he can tell when I'm serious about managing my own weight because he offers once then not again. It's up to me to say no. While I wish he didn't offer it to me, I'd also be more irritated if he got…

It's not an intentional choice for me. I roll out of bed, get straight into my workout clothes, and hop on the treadmill. If I eat much more than a stroop waffle before I run, I feel nauseated, so it's just easier to go without. To echo a previous poster, however, if I'm running longer than 45 or so minutes, I will eat a…

I spend the weekend with adult friends with no kids (I have a 7 year old at home) and didn't go crazy with food or alcohol. I didn't track, but I was aware of my food intake and didn't overdo it too much. And I even got up both mornings for a run!
-
So, June started great from a social perspective, but not a health perspective :) I got to spend the weekend with some friends I haven't seen for a while and loved every minute! I'm proud to say I did get up for a run both Saturday and Sunday morning, and made fairly good choices about food, but didn't log a single thing.…

This is a big one for me. I may not be MOTIVATED to log food and exercise, but I am DETERMINED to do it anyway. It is Determination and not Motivation that will keep me going.

Hi! I'm Jessica and I live in a suburb of Houston, TX, USA. I'm the secretary at an elementary school and my office is right next to the staff kitchen which always has food in it! While that is not the only factor in my weight gain, it certainly hasn't helped. I lost 75lbs about 4 years ago on MFP and maintained for about…

Your thread title says it all for me as well. Someone told me, and I have to keep telling myself, that motivation wanes, so don't depend on it. Instead rely on determination. So DETERMINE that you want live a healthier lifestyle. Then follow through.

Well done! A Half Marathon is no joke! I ran two earlier this year, but am unhappy with both times, most of which are tied to weight I've put back on in the last two years. I've just started logging again, and hope to be ready for January half marathons at a better racing weight. Again, well done to you!

Hey, all! I'm Jessica and approaching 50 at light speed. This is my second day back at MFP after regaining way more of the pounds that I lost previously than is acceptable. I run every morning, although many mornings I only get through a mile (I'm on a streak since 1/1/19). I want to do other exercises but am struggling to…
