That's lovely, margaretturk

Hi!

Machka9, I'm so sorry about your husband, and about what you've lost, and how much has changed. I'm glad he has made better progress than expected. Life, however it works, is complicated, with lots of variables, and telling someone to whistle a happy tune, when you're not in their shoes -- even if you're in similar shoes…

I love tomatoes in or on a sandwich of almost any sort -- not PB&J.

I am so sorry about your friend! I live in Ely.

I pretty much pulled it out of the air, with some vague notion that it's the upper limits of where I've felt okay in the past. I don't expect it to really be where I end up. Kinda think it'll be somewhere between that number and my lowest weight, and I'll trust my body to settle where it wants to be.

Good luck, nics!

Yes, it's a thing. I can speak with authority, because my restaurant has grilled cheese in the name. :) You can actually use mayo instead of butter to brown it. I grew up dipping it in ketchup, and my husband thinks that's gross. He grew up using Miracle Whip inside, and just assumed everyone did.
-
Yeah, that's it, trucker! I visualized my husband too, or at least the qualities he would have, and then took years to make note of his arrival. :)
-
Okay, grilled cheese with or without mayo or Miracle Whip, and dipped in ketchup or no?

I love tight denim jeans with no stretch or give or slimming panel that no one's first description of involves the word "mom."

I like pizza with pineapple, I sell pizza with pineapple, I get why some people do not like it, so I also sell pizza without it.

Welcome! How do you like the pea protein powder? There's a product I'm curious about that contains it, but the words pea protein are off putting to me. Does it have a taste?

All these points are really well taken. I read a book called, I think, The Downside of Positive Thinking, and it clearly and eloquently made clear that positivity can be toxic, because it drowns out empathy and support, and pushes away people who you consider a bummer. For instance, disease support groups that only want to…

I picked up what you were putting down. ;) *** DanSanthomes, I didn't woo you, pinkie swear, but here are my thoughts. :) Most people have a list of foods that are "worth it" to eat, at least sometimes, even if we are super health conscious. No use judging someone else's list. It's like household budgets -- everyone is…

You don't even want to know how I mistakenly read that last sentence.

Yes, this is really about coping with anxiety and triggers. I left shelter work because of anxiety and depression, but I still have a deep connection with rescuing. I named my restaurant after a puppy mill survivor I adopted. You knew volunteering in the shelter was not a good match, and so you foster, which is incredible.…

Please know I wasn't attacking you, or ascribing to you bad intentions. My comment was more societal than personal, but I know it probably didn't feel that way. I'm sorry. We all bring our baggage to these discussions, and women's baggage on this matter tends to be ... a lot. I think we unintentionally fall into a trap of…

Oh, wow, that's freaky. I had a similar thing! I wanted to move to my grandmother's hometown in Northern MN and was really doing the Law of Attraction thing without any concept I was doing it. I was in a good place emotionally, physically, believing it would happen. On our next visit, we went to look at houses, and I…

Ugh, sorry for misunderstanding ... again. It's always sooner than we'd like. One of our cats got his nightly taste of whipped cream from my husband, jumped into a chair and curled up for a nap, and slipped away. That's kinda as good as it gets in terms of being spared a heartbreaking decision. I think it's…

I get it that the advice was well-intentioned.

Persistence will pay off. Sometimes your body has to figure stuff out, sometimes it takes a little for you to figure out your body. At a week and a half, your body is like, "Wait? What?" The gain could be water, a normal fluctuation, your cycle, your body reacting to the changes by temporary hoarding, a result of being…

I had the same reaction to the self defense suggestion, Sammi. I know it was coming from a good place, but ... Women default to spending their lives managing men as a matter of course, and men -- even good men -- are oblivious to this. Women are aware of the things others think they should do, and the things they'll be…

Love it! I ended up working at a humane society where I started out as a volunteer. Eventually, after years, the emotions got to be too much and I burned out, but volunteers are crucial! Even though working at the shelter took a toll on me, I still miss it, and think it's the best thing I've ever done.

Oh my gosh, I didn't realize all the pictures of the gorgeous dog were a memorial. I'm so sorry, Pip!
-
Congratulations, Kimberlina, on your success! Ugh to the rest. We live in a really toxic time, not that it was ever great in terms of unsolicited opinions and attention. My only advice is not to let the *kitten* get you down, they don't deserve to interfere with your life.
-
I'm so sorry people aren't letting you *be* in peace, and I'm sorry they made you cry.

My pets keep saving me.

There are lots of Pomodoro apps. They're nice. :)

When I was a teenager, my best friend and I would celebrate weight loss with juicy hamburgers of baking cookies. It was a completely logical, productive way to act. (It was NOT a completely logical, productive way to act.)
