I own a restaurant. There is one place in the restaurant that gets a little tight when we're full. I want to be able to comfortably maneuver through that point without worry about what part of me might touch what part of them.

Hi, Annie. I have no opinions on carb cleanses, at least none I feel like expressing, but I know you're here in good faith, looking for help with your health journey, and that you deserve kindness and respect. Some of these responses seem smug and rude, whether truthful or not, and I hope you're feeling okay.

Why feel bad about yourself? You're doing everything right. Even if you weren't, that doesn't mean you shouldn't still be kind to yourself. Any self-esteem you get based on a lower number on the scale can be taken away just as easily as it's given, because that lower number will never feel like it belongs to you. I've also…

I do that too, higginbr, err on the side of overestimating.

If you're miserable at 1200, you should eat more. Of course you aim for good choices, and think of nutrition, but this is your life. Be happy AND healthy. What you're doing should not be or feel like a punishment. As the tortoise said, slow and steady wins the race. ;)

For some people, it works the other way, they do better knowing others can see it. I'm not temp This is similar to why I will die in the zombie apocalypse ... I will close my eyes in the illogical belief that if I can't see them, they can't see me.

I'm 51, literally just rejoined the gym a couple days ago, and went for the first time in 4, maybe 5, years tonight. I live in a small town, where I own a business, and so I kinda feel a little more seen than I consider ideal. :) But I live in a place with bitterly cold winters, and so I know I have to get used to the gym…

Cool, the only issue is Google ads sometimes cover sizes, so you have to remember values. Enjoy growing a virtual garden!

Well, yeah ... Golden Corral. Only been to it once, and I discovered candied bacon.

Thick crust, with the crust carmelized. Sauce goes on last. Brick cheese.

I use Plant Nanny too!

Stepping on the scale when you haven't for a while can definitely be an education, and I know it must be frustrating to not be able to be as mobile as you would like, all that means though is you have to have more patience and trust you're headed in the right direction. Practice good habits, do what you can, so that when…

Believe it or not, those work great for me since all I ever want is a little of what looks best to me. Do I end up overeating? Yeah, but not by much since I love veggies so those make the cut, and I walk out with happy taste buds.

Hi, tried to add you on Fitbit, but it told me the user name did not exist.

Getting my brain in the right groove was my most important thing, and keeping my brain from going to a dark place keeps me going. And supplements, which I know is controversial, but I believe they helped me get out of my depression and anxiety. Now, what helps are simple goals, like 250 steps minimum an hour, and 10,000…

Literally, my main thought on any vacation is what I'll eat. A vacation where I don't sample the local cuisine and relax does not compute. I'm literally taking better care of myself, so that I can travel more, so that I can try new (to me) interesting food ... so I can live! If you're stuffing yourself, and not really into…

Start by starting. Focus on you to the point of deafness when your husband gets like that. Background noise. The sound of teachers talking in the Peanuts cartoons. At a good moment have a heart to heart with him. My suggestions, which are not in any way the only way or choices: Maybe start with water. Your weight, divided…

My husband has started making Detroit-style pizzas for our restaurant -- we're from the Detroit area originally. Sometimes I have to go for it! :)
-
Yeah, the weigh-in in the morning was fine. :) I honestly knew it would be. *** Oh, Pip, so sorry. I can tell how treasured she was and that you were a wonderful family to her.
-
I strongly suspect that you're also married to my husband.

I have gotten Bleu Cheese dressing on a salad that comes with Bleu Cheese crumbles. No regrets. I grew up on Limburger cheese sandwiches on onion rolls WITH sliced onions and Miracle Whip. Mic drop.

Hey, that definition worked for the cave people. I mean, trial and error. ;)
-
Ever had Detroit-style pizza?

Assuming you went somewhere amazing, with great dining opportunities and foods you cannot get all the time, in your place I would take the suggested, you're on holiday -- well, vacation -- approach. If you do this, it's easier to move ahead healthily. If you blame and regret, you steal from yourself great memories, and…

Dunno if this helps, but I found: On June 1, 2015, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed SB 339, which allows the use of cannabis oil that is no more than 0.5% THC and at least 10% CBD for the treatment of intractable epilepsy. The bill requires patients to get approval from two certified specialists. Governor Abbot stated:…

Are you drinking all your water? Does that help with appetite? As a nurse, you probably really rack up the steps, do you know what you average?

The most likely scenarios are that: 1. People are living their own lives, and not actively thinking about your health goals. The top 10 things on their mind are about their worries and needs. And a couple are probably debating over whether THEY should have a second piece. 2. People do know you're working on your health,…

I know, it's scary. A lot of this stuff is scary. One day at a time, though, and work to get your head in the right place to believe you can handle, whatever, and make lasting changes.

Welcome!

I could have written this myself!
