What's your kryptonite?

My kryptonite? Gluttony, period. A big ole unhealthy unattractive and woe is me gut, butt, triple chin, a big ole HUGE head with tiny beedy eyes, all swollen looking/flab/fat and yuck all over my mind, body and soul. SERIOUSLY. When I was obese and overweight and out of control in a lot of areas in my life, but especially eating and drinking all kinds of stuff, from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep. One of the reasons I was all obese and UGH was bowing down to/obeying that kryptonite-ish desire/feeling I had all the time. I wish I could name just a few things, but everything sweet, fatty and everything in between WAS my kryptonite. I had NO self control in my eating and drinking AND thinking at all.
Fast forward to now/today...what's my kryptonite now that I'm slim and trim? Water...ICE water and lots of it--THAT'S MY KINDA KRYPTONITE and even that--I'll not over-do it in that area either, why? because I'm in control of myself, period. I now eat ALL of the things that used to hold me it's unwilling SLAVE for more, more and some more. The only difference is when that "Master" calls and commands me to eat more and more or lies to/deceives me and COMMANDS and TRICKS me to eat/drink more and more of (fill in the blank) Cons me into believing I MUST eat more of (fill in the blank) because I'm it's SLAVE and have no control over (fill in the blank). I rebuke it ( I take control and don't agree with nor go along with that impulse/feeling of helplessness) and remember what life was like having a triple chin and a big ole bloated/swollen/flabby/hurting body, being all obese and feeling all gross and ugh and if that "voice" starts calling me too tough or making me feel "some kinda way", I'll totally deny myself on purpose to what that "kryptonite" is trying it's d@mnest to be influencing me to get outta control of myself and tell myself, I'll not have any of that today (take THAT kyptonite)and purposely not have that and make myself have some when I'm not all outta control and feeling all greedy/gluttonous about it, period. It may be the next day, week or month, but I'll have it when I can control myself and portion control, period.
Some may say...FOUL--that's not normal, that's not cool, that's a bummer, that's not fun--perhaps, but I just wanted to post for someone who feels a total slave to their kryptonite. I'm a living witness that you can kick those "feelings" kryptonite to the curb with real POWER of self control when (not if, but when it) lies to you and tells you you have no control, you must have more. It's lie, period. You can kick kryptonite's butt and have control over any/everything you want--it's a CHOICE, it really is. I no longer bow down to "kryptonite" and you don't have to either. You can have one or two or some of what you like and STOP, because you can make yourself remember what obesity/overweight/flab/fat/yuck looks and feels like--that alone will make that Kryptonite bow down to you and obey you with respect (well...it does to/for me)--that's what self-control does to kryptonite...for realz!9 -
My husband has started making Detroit-style pizzas for our restaurant -- we're from the Detroit area originally. Sometimes I have to go for it!1

Salty, crunchy food: potato chips, fries, corn chips, tortilla chips.. I’ll grab a taco shell and break it up, add salt when I’m desperate!! 😬😬😬1

Peanut butter, nut butters in general. I buy the Walden Farms peanut spread when my craving is relentless. I doctor it up, add sugar free powdered almond butter or sugar free powdered peanut butter. I also make a cup of Waldens with plant protein powder. I want VOLUME when it comes to nut butters!0

Chocolate. Or chocolate and peanut butter. Specifically Reese’s big cup with Reese’s pieces. I found them highly addictive. Always had to have 3 of the king sized ones for a meal. Haven’t had them in about a week luckily. I haven’t broken my chocolate fixation yet. I’ve been eating Hershey bars but not that many and they are being accounted for on here 😊1

Pasta in thick, creamy cheese sauce. Put a high quality plate of mac n cheese or fettuccine alfredo in front of me and I'll polish off the whole thing. No calorie regrets either, those are worth it.2
