  • Hi! Thank you for your reply. I finished using the app only a little bit faster maybe like mid way through week 8 but only because I was running 5k by then and the app was really distracting. My running wasn't very regular due to work. I work long hours so Im not able to fit running in those days do I would run everyday…
  • Hello! Thank you for the replies. So there's a little update. I went for my martial art class yesterday and as soon as I started the class I started having bad stomach cramps. I was drinking throughout the class thinking it my be hydration related but it made no difference. The cramps started to ease off when I finished…
  • Thanks again everyone. As I said before, I sometimes run fasted or sometimes a few hours after food but that depends on what time of the day I am running, which can also vary greatly. I sometimes run first thing in the morning and sometimes after an hour of cardio or strength and conditioning class and I never had a…
  • I do martial arts and a lot of cardio training during the week so maybe that's why I managed to progress so fast🤔I was quite surprised myself. I know I sometimes push myself maybe a bit too much but at the same time, I listen to my body and when I feel I'm overtrained I will rest, sometimes for a good few days. Will try to…
  • Hi everyone, Thank you for all your replies! I can't remember what I did food wise for my 8k but for the 10k I had a pasta lunch around 3,5-4 hours before the run. I admit I didn't drink while running cause I didn't expect to do 10k. I think I was hydrated OK for it but I generally drink less than an avarage person because…
  • I agree with @ketsuban25 and @heybales and really no fitness tracker can give you a 100% accuracy however, I think it's still more accurate than the generic MFP database :)
  • Garmin vivoactive 3 music smarwatch/ fitness tracker. I got it in April and I love it! Tracks your calories burned (pretty accurate), your sleep, has a GPS for your running, cycling, etc. It's waterproof so you can swim or shower with it, you can store music on it so you can listen to it while running or cycling with…
  • Similarly to a lot of people I aimed at my weight from when I was younger which I felt comfortable with. I haven't reached it yet but now I just want my fat tissue to decrease and I'm going to go by what I see in the mirror and not necessarily what the scales are showing.
  • I'm not very experienced in the subject of fitness, weight loss or gain for that matter, but even I know you have to take a rest day! I myself have quite an active job and I exercise 5-6times a week (calisthenics, martial arts, obstacle course training) aiming for 6, but I have days where I feel completely deflated and…
  • @igfrie thank you for your amazing posts! You have been super helpful <3
  • Thank you! I am actually weighing all my food as well as drinks in grams and ml and I'm also using a fitness tracker so I am getting a more accurate estimates of my calories burned than the generic MFP database. I guess I maybe am just a bit impatient 😅 thank you though
  • Thank you everyone for your replies! This is extremely helpful and it would seem I have loads to read up on! Here I was, thinking that weight loss is just as simple as eating less, but in actual fact this is quite a complex process with a lot of science behind it... Or at least more than I anticipated 🤓🙄 it's also great to…
  • I use garmin and its synced with MFP which means all my burned calories get transfered from my garmin to MFP. I think garmin is also more accurate than MFP because it estimates your burned calories based on your heart rate during exercise, while MFP has a generic calories assigned to an exercise.
