  • Contrave? Really? That’s to treat obesity. No doctor in their right mind is going to even consider prescribing this drug OR play around with any anticonvulsant off label... just to deal with 20lbs. OP, start from the simplest likely culprit; accurate weighing, logging and staying within your calorie goal. If you don’t have…
  • Um yea no. I won’t do it. Daily weighing is work enough to keep in perspective. No chance of finding me on there after breakfast. Lol yeah. Just no.
  • Well, I don’t know if you’d call it small steps but at the time I’m trying a little harder to avoid making things I am no good at moderating myself with, like the things I baked at Christmas. Since New Years I’ve been trying to log even after I’ve gone over my daily calorie limit. This is improvement because even though it…
  • It’s a significant change. That’s what’s intimidating you, I think. The setting itself is not as scary as the change that it implies or comes with it if it becomes a regular habit. It’s actually like going to the store; everyone there is focused on getting what they want and in a hurry to get out of there. The changes,…
  • I also have a mean sweet tooth. I regularly work certain sweets into my calorie limit during the day and do pretty good most of the time. However there are specific deal breakers i like just too much and I won’t keep in my house or make because moderation is impossible. Thats about the best I can do short of caving.
  • Yeah, I’d be wary of the hidden ingredients, hidden calories, over-servings and sodium content. Suppose you could ask for some of that information as well. Definitely would be a yummy week for sure, though.
  • Strangely enough, my 5lb gain over Christmas Eve, Day and day after is now down to previous weight, plus an extra pound. I am shocked, and truly baffled! My husband says he’s not surprised, as I’m on the go all day long but geez, I ate like a horse those couple days, was sure I’d gained at LEAST a pound. I DID get back on…
  • Right on :) yesterday was sort of a tough one for me too. But once I got there and got started, my body and brain did a 180 and was ready for take off! Made me very glad I tried rather than write it off so I know how important it is, and how good it feels. Keep up the good work
  • God bless you! And I hope you enjoyed a joyful Christmas as well ❤️
  • Routine (eating schedule, pattern, food) helps me stay on track. I consider these days “normal”, in where my menu/daily schedule is planned and outside interference is minimal. Of course not all days go according to the usual plan; parties, holidays, eating out. Even on those days, if I eat according to my calories and not…
  • Tamales, beans, my moms famous potato salad, sugar cookie & chocolate fudges, couple of deviled eggs and Mexican wedding cookies.... ate to my hearts content. Today, grazed. There’s without a doubt SOME damage, but nothing that won’t come off with my normal routine. Lastly, I’ve known since I started this weight loss…
  • This is great - what a body transformation! A lot of hard work truly paid off, great job and congratulations :)
  • I can’t even tell you how I’ve managed to do it so far, just have. I do plan on having me a tamale this Christmas Eve though. Or 2 or 3. Or 4. Just round it up to 4.
  • Wow I didn’t see yours. Does she make hers with cake mix too? I made the quickie kind with the cake mix, haven’t tried them but they look and smell awesome
  • Found this beautiful classic at Costco, took everything I had to just leave it there. But I ended up buying two bags anyway.
  • Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies, because....because Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies.
  • I wish I could keep it down to 6 cookies. You do rock.
  • Hi. You’re a premium user so I’ll answer your post. Just kidding. Your question is pretty much unanswerable, premium user or not. There’s plenty of us here with diabetes that are managing it with the help of MFP. But nobody here can prescribe you a specific program (and don’t listen to anyone who tries), only your doctor…
  • Eating out at the smaller, private restaurants used to frustrate me because of this particular issue, the calorie estimating. It gave me food anxiety, to the point where I would have plenty of calories in my day to enjoy a meal out but would decline and eat something at home I could weigh lol. Silly me. Calorie estimating…
  • Too many variables. It really would depend on what it is I have, how severe it is and what I need to recover. Sometimes I can work out straight through without a problem (headache, allergies, PMS, etc). Couple other times I can recall this year, I needed the rest. If it’s contagious, my first priority is to avoid spreading…
  • Banana Nut Bread Oatmeal M&M/Walnut Cookies Soft Christmas Sprinkle Cookies Tollhouse Marble Square Bars Pecan Brownie Bars Oreo Truffles Dipped Marshmallows Rice Crispy Treat Pops I do cake pop orders year round, these are also something I have to just abstain from lol. here’s a few from different occasions, haven’t…
  • When my babies were small like yours (4 ranging from newborn to 7yrs), I literally incorporated my exercise into my daily routine with them. I lost 151lbs that way. - I walked the older ones to and from school most days. - I made sure all my house chores were completed by the end of the afternoon and I moved quickly. A lot…
  • I do get it. For some reason resisting isn’t a problem, it’s in moderating that I run into trouble. I find it enjoyable, almost therapeutical. I’d post more pics of what I do but I don’t want to make temptation harder for anybody, it’s already everywhere right now.
  • I think those would be questions for them. I run a pretty tight ship, keep it simple on here. I log, track, skim the forums if I got a minute and back to the grindstone.
  • The ones in the picture, I made :) I run a small baking business through the Fall (breads, cookies, bars & cake pops) and these are always a big seller. Don’t ask me how I manage not to eat up what I bake. But these in particular are really hard to moderate, so most of the time I just don’t go there with these lol.
  • These babies. They have many names, depending on where you’re from but I know them as Mexican Wedding Cookies, or Polverones. Light, lovely, pecan, buttery, powdered-sugary mess.
  • Agreed. I’m not seeing the point of these discussions other than “some with health conditions” should not have it. Even that is untrue. Even as a full on diabetic who needs to limit my amount of sugar intake (because I can eat a whole cake, of course), it wouldn’t be wise of me to fully eliminate it. I have non-diabetic…
  • Okay I’m caught. And cakes. I like cake, too. With sugar.
  • I’m not a big fan of fruit. But I will sneak a Reese’s peanut butter cup into my diary once in a while. Or a few...
  • Yes! Believe it or not, as of this morning I’m back exactly the same weight a week ago before I totally went haywire. I really, truly thought I’d gained at least five pounds on thanksgiving and even the day after. Side note; I really appreciate all the help you give people on here with your experience and your knowledge. I…
