Age 66, SW 233, November Goal 227 I have been doing this now for a couple of weeks and my appetite has decreased and I am more active. I was 20 pounds lighter pre-pandemic and wanted to lose 20 more then! So I have a long way to go. Definitely will enjoy treats on Thanksgiving but want to avoid overeating. 2022 - trip to…

Hi everyone! Now at 237 so I would like to be at 225 by Jan 1and to keep it off. Even better I hope to lose 20 more pounds in 2022.

Same weight as pre-pandemic, but at least I didn't gain. Feeling cautiously optimistic. 5'4" 66 years old. SW 240 and hope to get below 200 finally, however long it takes. Actually walked today for 30 minutes and want to repeat that every other day if possible. Usual pattern is to slow down and eat sweets in the Winter,…

Hello again, I would welcome anyone who wants a fitness pal!

New here. I almost got down to 210 last year but then did a lot of stress eating plus had to take Prednisone for an autoimmune problem. So back to 245 (!) Have been on a 1500 calorie a day plan for two weeks now. I hope to be in the 230s by the end of the month.

Thanks! You are an Inspiration.

I believe that varying the daily calories can help free you from a plateau. If you are consistent with a low amount of calories, the body adapts and thinks we are in an environment where food is scarce (as if we are still Hunters and Gatherers). So our body will slow down metabolism to protect us. Eating a little more…

Yes! So many times I have done well losing weight for a couple of months, then there is THE DAY that is so stressful or a celebration with great food and I am overeating again. I had a day like that recently and I am still coming back from it - hopefully today I will be able to keep the calories to my daily goal. Excuses -…

Hello and welcome to our new people! So the weather is getting colder and that means for me struggling with feeling slowed down. I used to get depressed in the Winter but have figured out ways to cope. But it feels like my body is trying to go into hibernation! I have urges to eat a lot of carbs and take naps. Logging…

Hi, I have not been below 200lbs for 20 years but I am going to get there and stay there! Height: 5'4" SW: 238lbs CW:215lbs GW:195 Love this group! Best wishes to all.

@bluffgirl67 - amazing that you still logged after 6 hrs in the ER! Please be gentle with yourself and feel better. And to all of you that have to deal with lots of cheap candy and treats at work - you have my sympathy and admiration for your willpower!

Yes please, a November challenge! Here comes the Holidays.

@bluffgirl67 I will try focusing on the swim and enjoying the warmth and movement rather than how I look in a bathing suit. And so agree with not giving up specific foods - for me, if it is forbidden, it is so much more tempting! Indulge in those Vegis and Beans. You can handle those stresses in a healthy way!

I am starting a swimming class twice a week but I have not been in a group activity like this for 10 years! Hopeful it will help me feel stronger and increase my metabolism. Worried I will get lazy and not go - or get embarrassed that I am the biggest person there.

Thanks for your support Alicia! I love your positive approach and hope I do as well on my trip to Denver (first time to CO!). And good advice about making food choices. I am most concerned about travel days when I will be ultra anxious about flying. And mmccloy, may you reach your next goal soon! I also learned the hard…

Hello, I am going on a vacation to Denver next week, SO looking forward to it. BUT I have to deal with having less control over my food choices. I worry I will not only overeat, but then when I return I will have trouble sticking to my goals. I do have the App for myfitnesspal on my phone, so I am going to try to keep…

Welcome Alicia, feel free to add me as a friend!

Size 16 is now the average size of a woman in the USA. This may not be ideal and it may be too much weight for many, but you are not obese! Keep up the great efforts!

So I have lost about 20 pounds since I started about 2 months ago, partly due to a medical illness. But at 215, Onederland is in sight! So I am going to do this - it may take until Spring, but I am committed to this goal now.

You are stronger than the pain, but remember to be kind to yourself too.
