  • I've been using ON (Optimum Nutrition) powder. No problems with it. I've tried walmarts body fortress as well and it's not bad but i've been using that mostly in recipes like just_Tomek's low cal protein cheesecake recipe from that section of this forum. For general use the ON I prefer the taste/resulting texture better.
  • December to date: 2 - 6 minutes total 4 - 6 minutes total 8 - 7.5 minutes total 9 - 1 minute total 10 - 8 minutes total 15 - 10 minutes total 16 - 2 minutes total To date: 40.5 minutes. I thought i'd be further than this in time into planking by this time of the month but i've been adding and mixing so many exercises in…
  • Been a bit since I updated. I've been making continue progress but considering after Christmas Eve until the week after new years I won't have access to a pull up bar success by end of year seems slim as we're headed south for a family vacation. I'm sooo close though. My negatives are rock solid and my normal pull up is…
  • I agree! I'd go so far to say as men's sizes are almost 2" below actual measurements at this point from what I see. My waist measures a 36" at 6'6" and about 1/2+ of brands I can reasonably fit in a 34 waist. I've also seen inseams of 34" be as short as the same brands 32" inseam, and 36" long being less than other brands…
  • I started using it to assist in exactly your described problem. I've dropped over 120lbs so far since January (aiming for 125 by end of year) and around halfway into the drop I noticed muscle loss becoming a problem so I upped my protein intake. I found it hard to hit goal numbers as well and although try to eat as much of…
  • 40lbs this last month? That math doesn't add up. If you lost 40lbs in one month, your not at any plateau your body is literally in utter and total confusion and probably doing some emergency shut down systems thing because that is not healthy at all.
  • Challenge starting weight- 259 10/23- 258.7 10/30- 252.9 - I would assume that has to be some water weight drop because the weekend prior to the 23rd wasn't my greatest showing of self control around margaritas lol, probably realistically closer to 3lbs. My average has been 2-3lbs a week so that would make more sense.…
  • Welcome to MFP! I started with a goal of losing 75lbs is myself and ended up that I'm on track to lose 125 in 12 months by the end of the year without setting foot in a gym, so don't worry about that it can be done! Definitely get the exercise in, I didn't do a lot of cardio (some limited routines from apps/youtube videos)…
  • I actually was really finicky with the scale numbers until I started doing some weight work, then I realized how much the aesthetic gains were exponentially greater and the scale slowed down so I started measuring and found that as much if not more rewarding than the scale numbers. I'm 10 jean sizes down in 12 months, that…
  • The challenges are posted up by sponsors and normally have prizes raffled to the winners. It's not like a community challenge kinda feature. I think the only challenge thats currently active is the "Health for the Holidays" one, everything else is closed.
  • I can see why Motorsheen reacted that way though. I mean, that sure sounds like "playing hard to get" to me. "out of nowhere and random" seems more like looking to be appeased to many guys, myself included. If I can't say how I feel all the time i'm simply not interested in that dynamic.
  • I have a dirty mind, because I didn't look to try to figure out your gender and the second sentence is not where I thought that was going LOL!
  • Cold. So freaking cold... all....the....time. I used to be a shorts/tshirts in the winter kinda guy... now not so much.

  • Put something of known weight on the scale and see how it reads.
  • I just find the closest thing or pick through ingredients if it's a simpler dish. Just remember you won't be in weight loss forever, so find a program that you can stick to when you get to your goal!
  • Humans are creatures of habit. Unfortunately we often have bad habits. We like to say "I can't stay committed or consistent" when the reality is you are committed and consistent to your old habits. It will feel forced at first but set a routine and force yourself to do it. Make it part of the daily routine. Even if time is…
  • Woah, did a google on that and tried it. Really a weird feeling. Made my shoulders feel kinda funky but in a good way. Definitely will try to include this more often!
  • Literally the quote of the person I replied to said "As long as you maintain a calorie deficit you can eat and drink whatever you like."... Did you catch that part or were you just looking for a debate?
  • And you'll also feel like hell if you eat 1000 calories of Candy on a 1200 calorie diet... come on now... This isn't 100% about weight loss, there's some health considerations to make.... To OP: Just eat balanced, but you dont have to remove treats/rewards for yourself but it's worth it to be conscious of your decisions.
  • Just so I can be one day be "that dad" when dropping my girls off at school and activities :D :p Some of the posts here aren't very "petty" I don't think? Feeling attractive is definitely a self confidence thing and very important for example. I'm not sure anything that can drive a person to make a lifestyle change is ever…
  • Took the weekend off since I didn't have a pull up bar on the weekend away family trip for the holidays. Came back last night and gave a hearty effort from a dead hang. Still stuck on that lower transition. A jump the upper 60% is definitely attainable for me. Negatives were very solid for all 5 reps. It's going to be…
  • Sent a request, In my 30's with a 6 (turning 7 next week) and 3 year old daughters
  • I missed this challenge last month. I'm in for December. I’ve been using the “Plank Workout” app for anyone wondering where my routine will come from. I'll come up with a better way to summarize this log. December 1 - Day 23 of “Plank Workout” - Intervals of this day varied 45s and 30s. Knee Plank - 00:50 Straight Arm Knee…
  • Congratulations on that massive milestone!
  • Really low cal? Not really in my opinion. Its basically TDEE - 2lbs and try to stand in a deficit on this number (try not to go over at all and rarely do) a week from a calorie standpoint for someone who was over 100 lbs overweight and in the high side of the obese scale. To your defense I don't really eat in for workouts…
  • I started my journey this year on a very strict Keto style diet. I've since re-introduced carbs on a more balanced macro balance. I can speak for myself and say I lost from 350lbs last fall/winter and 335 in March to 237 today and low carb balance played a role. Is the end result involving calorie in/out, sure it is BUT I…
  • I hear ya! I think a lot of users here are or were in a similar boat. I was 290ish and got down to 245 purely based on running and not changing my lifestyles and then ended up at 350 a couple years later... now at 237 and dropping. There's lots of good posts about how to change it and your habits/lifestyle decisions. I…
  • Decided to step out of my comfort zone with my haircut and change it up with my "fresh new me" mentality. Started at 350+ last fall/winter 335 in March this year. 237 currently and goal of 220-225. Went a little more "adventurous" than my normal comfort level and trying to account for a more appropriately structured face…
  • That's probably pretty accurate. I started at 350+- (6'6" tall) last fall/winter and am currently 237. Size 44/46 to 36 right now. Some brand 36's I try on are a little snug while others I could almost fit a 34. Either way the 110lbs has swung my waist a similar amount. I did buy a fabric tape and started measuring the…
