  • Donuts - sugary fat bombs Most restaurant meals.
  • Do they have Chico’s in the UK? I go to their outlet store for 3/4 sleeve cotton tees in lots of colors. They don’t pill and hold their shape. And because it is the outlet, they aren’t pricey. I also think LLBean carries them. Sorry, I’m not familiar with UK based stores. That is all I wear on the winter. I Get way too hot…
  • To break the 210s. This morning I was 212.3. My current mini goal is to get to 209. I’ve been plateauing throughout the 210s. This was my weight range for many of my adult years, but it has been since 2012 since I hit it, for just a few days. My bigger goal is 199 by 12/31.
  • I finally tried a protein drink (pre-made) and it actually was pretty good. I don’t like smoothies and thought protein powder was a waste of calories. But I’ve come to realize that it is a helpful tool, and now I’ve found one I am willing to drink a few times per week. For me, this is a big win. 😀
  • You are really strong! Way to go. All of your “firsts” are very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
  • I agreed with using it anywhere you would normally use ground beef. My mom uses it in spaghetti sauce. I use it for taco meat. My family is so accustom to it that way that when I used ground beef, they didn’t like it. On the web there are lots of recipes for stuffed peppers that use ground turkey. Some use bell peppers -…
  • Thank you for posting to this thread and bringing it back near the top of the Success Stories section. I know that there is a relationship between clutter in the home and my body “clutter”. I’m committing here to go through the stack on a card table that was suppose to be a temporary solution but has been there for at…
  • I went horseback riding for 2 hours yesterday. The first NSV is that I did it! A friend gave me a gift certificate for my birthday 4.5 years ago and because of some health reasons and some procrastination, I never went. The second NSV...although I was stiff getting off the horse yesterday, as I walked around, I loosened…
  • Well, I can certainly see the difference! 😋 Lockdown made a huge difference for me too. Logging has been key and I’ve had more time to cook and experiment with new recipes. You go girl!
  • @AwesomeSquirrel - Thank you for your post. I want to compliment you on how you are working through this. I believe that your observations of yourself and reflection on discomforts will help you in maintenance. I too am not interested in discussing my weight loss at length with most people. I’m not doing it for attention,…
  • My motivation is heart health. Cardiovascular disease runs in my family (later in life). COVID has been a huge motivator for me to get to a healthy weight and take care of my health by being active. In the beginning the news kept saying what made someone at a higher risk and obesity is a huge risk.
  • Smaller jeans fit! And a cute pair of yellow capris. 😀 I have boxes of smaller sizes in our attic, and my DH brought one down on Friday. Not everything fits, but I’d say I’m definitely down a size. Hooray! And I’ve bagged up the larger ones to donate. They are getting to be too baggy/droopy.
  • What a great perspective to have. There will always be bumps in the road, but the goal has to be to stay on the road! 😋 We can do this!
  • Those are fabulous NSVs. Way to go!
  • Your story is inspiring. Way to go! I try and remind myself regularly that consistency and determination over time will get me to my goal.
  • Way to go! I am at a loss of words. What an amazing accomplishment.
  • For me, I am finding it better to go to restaurants rarely. Covid changed the habit of going out a few times per week to less than once a month. It has helped me be consistent in my weight loss journey. I meet friends to walk or we do brown bag lunches/dinners, sit outside at a social distance I think with practice you…
  • Do you want ideas for foods you can bring with you or cook before you go in? I’m thinking to bring with you. Greek yogurt is a great way to get in more protein. Add some fruit and chopped nuts. A sandwich with some cut up veggies and fruit. If you are wanting something warm, make a big pot of Chili with beans, or a stew to…
  • Why don’t you call or email the company and ask them. It’s worth a try. I just heard a story on the news that there is a pumpkin shortage this year because of all of the excess rain in the southern states. I’m pretty sure they were referring to Jack-o-Latern pumpkins, but it probably hold true for the varieties we eat.
  • Does anyone remember the wax lips? (Not candy just a Halloween treat.) My sister and I loved finding those in our bags when we were kids. And of course the wax bottles with the sugar liquid in it. Fun! I loved Bottle Caps but here is yer another candy that changed it’s recipe at some point, so they are only so-so. For…
  • This! I also think that the the term morbidly obese, or even just obese, really freaks people out. I also think friends where I now live are use to seeing me around this size that this is what my normal is to them. I agree with a previous poster about accepting compliments, and I do. I have always been a very open and free…
  • I was looking for this thread earlier and couldn’t find it. Because I really needed to vent today! Every time I see a friend of mine she tells me “You’re so skinny! You’ve lost so much weight.” Today I told her that I had a lot more weight to lose that I am morbidly obese. She kept insisting “no you’re not”. (This is not…
  • Holy crap!! Way to go. I’m cheering you on.
  • It’s frustrating to lose weight and regain it. It sounds like you have made your schedule more manageable, and that will help. Stay focused. You can do it. We all can!
  • I love roller skating but I haven’t been a long time. I grew up skating outdoors but where I live now, I go to an indoor rink. I believe it has opened back up. I’ll have to see if any friends want to go. 😀
  • I think the way that you are thinking about it makes sense. Down the road you may want something more concrete. If what you are doing is working for you, stick with it! In the past I have self-sabotaged when I got too caught up with the numbers, whether it is the number on the scale, total amount lost, too many comments…
  • I aim for 40-60 min of exercise daily. Quite often it is walking outdoors, but I also do water aerobics, walk on the treadmill, or an exercise video. I miss the gym and their stationary bikes. Additionally I use resistance bands or do body weight exercises to build muscle. I have my weight loss goal at 2 lbs per week in…
  • Wow! Great minds think alike! Baby carrots and hummus, cheese stick and whole grain crackers (I like the Reduced fat triscuits), apple slices, 1 oz of almonds, nonfat Greek yogurt with or without berries, a banana always fills me up. I do not eat hard boiled eggs but I know those can fill you up or at least satiate you. My…
  • You prove it can be done. Thank you for sharing. It’s great to hear it was through consistency and finding what works for you. And MFP! 🤣
  • Way to go! You are a great inspiration for me. How long has it taken you?
