Happy Sunday! I'm reading all the posts while the OH is watching the Super Bowl. I've never appreciated the loud brouhaha of American football. Most sports, actually. Attending a game of some sort can make a difference but it's a rare day when I'm a spectator at a sporting event. I've had 3 days in a row taking a walk…

@jugar CW: 181.1 Step by miserable baby step…slowly down to the next lower decade (again). I know. Trying to stay on the positive side. I walked down to the pond around the neighborhood loop with Sarah this afternoon. It was so warm! It’s not normal to be close to 50-degrees on February 11th! At any rate, I’m practicing…

The sun was so nice for a few hours today. I felt elated by the brightness and the fact that my Ortho person is thrilled that my shoulder is doing so well. She said that I have no restrictions! Of course, I'm about as strong on the left side as a first grader but hey, I'll keep working on that. I've been going a little…

Happy Wednesday! I feel more awake today than I have in a week. I'm sure the blue sky and visible sunshine is a major contributor. It also helps that Mom has been re-tested for Covid and is now negative. She only had 8-9 days "isolated", which meant she couldn't use the Cyber-cycle in the gym! She was still able to go…

@jugar CW: 181.3 The groundhog died right before Feb 2nd. Must be a sign! I'm glad you have snowshoes down there in MA. Borrow a charger for your Fitbit, perhaps (or get a replacement to keep in the car). @PlaneMonkey My daughter and I have IBS and have a new book called, "The beginner's guide to LOW-FODMAP" by…

I was about to ask if *that* was how you keep your OH in line?

@micki48 thinning out all the things. well done! I'll try not to "find" those things any more than the few pounds the past 2 weeks! Argh. It's discouraging to visit the former "normal" decade but, what the heck. My clothes still fit fine and my health is good. No major issues so, steady on and get back to it now that we're…

Happy Tuesday! I'm visiting my older daughter in Winooski, VT and plan to go home tomorrow. It's been nice to keep her company and do some crochet and embroidery projects. We're going to do a little browsing for snow pants in a few minutes. I used my 6'2" spouse's snow pants last year and found that folding up the hem the…

@jugar CW 179.6 Happy weekend! Sorry I was late getting this in. It’s wild we’re so close to the end of the month. Good grief! I have some catching up to do and will try to get more walking in this week.

Yup! Sorry for the delay. Please carry over my weight from last week. My scale needs readjusting before I believe it. It’s possibly time for a new battery since it told me one amazing number (6 lbs down) and then, 10 lbs higher a moment later. It’s too cold to sit up and type but tomorrow afternoon, I’ll get on to report…

Tiny triumph: While my OH ate a large serving of Tiramisu, I ate 2 pieces of deli turkey, 1 piece of deli Swiss, and 6 triscuit crackers. My serving of tiramisu was 1 serving spoon on a very small plate. The size of the dish always helps me feel full sooner than a small serving on a big plate or bowl. Psych tricks are fun…

@kellie_erin the SAD "sun box" I have set up at my desk is called, "Caribbean Sun" or something like that. It's bluer than my daughter prefers so she "enhanced" it by adding strips of yellow and orange filter paper. I still appreciate that it helps me adjust to the lack of sunshine during the winter. Whatever you decide to…

@jugar CW: 179.8 If there was a way to put in a "sharp", I would have. Suffice it to say that I'm too close to that previous "decade" than I want to be. This too shall pass. I believe I need to add to my water consumption, decrease added salt (again), and add 2 more servings of veggies each day. I'll let you know how it…

Hi! I live in Windsor, Vermont with my OH, adult daughter, and 3 cats. My weightless journey started in late high school when I *thought* I was heavy (138 lbs & sturdy, short German-Irish-Swedish build). I experimented with various food regimens including Macrobiotics 9-months after my 1st daughter was born in '82. It…

I had rotator cuff repair (left shoulder) in August and know what you mean about the sleep issues! One thing I found really helpful was listening to the guided meditations on the "Balance" App. There are several topics including pain, nap, sleep, back to sleep, etc. Check it out. It's free for the first year. I hope it…

@jugar CW: 179.4 Alright! I am may not have gone down as much as I’d hoped, but at least I stayed in this “decade”! I like how someone else said they didn’t go up to the “round”. That’s like not saying “Hamlet” when on stage (or one has to run out to the street and twirl around 3 times or something). Happy last day of…

@jugar CW: 178.8 Lost a day after shopping on Thursday! Merry Christmas, everyone. We have a 1/4” layer of ice all over the cars and roads - pretty! Em & M drove back to E’s place over, around, and through the slushy, icy, nastiness but made it safely, even if only using “all seasons” instead of “winter” tires. It can be…

Happy Solstice-almost-Christmas week! It was great to catch up on the 100+ posts. I spent several days in Winooski, VT visiting my older daughter, baking coffee rings, gingerbread cookies, and watching the British Baking show and Marvel movies. We were both well intentioned couch potatoes. It occurred to me that asking for…

@jugar CW: 178.8 I know the steps that got me to a higher weight…some of it because I haven’t had as many steps outside! I’m going back to my smaller plate servings. That helps me feel satiated sooner than eating the same amount in a bigger plate. I baked some lemon shortbread last night and caught myself “tasting” the…

@jugar original PW (nov/2019): 198 CW: 178.6 I want to be at or below 174 by January 1st, 2022. I’m recommitting to NOOM as well as F2F. I drove my younger daughter to the older’s apartment in Winooski yesterday in order to help with some basic tidying and cooking so the elder (wedding photographer) could get the last…

As in TOO CLOSE! Poor things. I'm sure they're impressed by your balance, though! At the tail end of the summer when I was cat sitting for Em, she and M were heading out for an evening walk - until the other side of the car where there were two fluffy skunk escorts. Ha! They opted for indoor exercise on the mini-elliptical…

@Yinxfed Circling you up with hugs from Vermont. I have no doubt that your sweet Edie will visit you every so often to lean against your leg and let you know she loves you. I've enjoyed catching up with everyone's posts. So many celebrations! I hope you're feeling more yourself today, @micki48. Every time I start feeling…

The part of my comment that disappeared was that my 2 kitties really *love* meat but not so much salad greens - this helps my digestion system function better, too, so it's a win-win-win! well, maybe not for the poor kitties who adore the wee slices of fat I cut off and toss to them in the kitchen, but I digress!

I use my larger bowl for salads (romaine, julienned green beans & carrots - leftover, and sliced flank steak). For dressing I use my favorite; apple cider vinegar and gomasio (roasted sesame seeds & sea salt).

@jugar CW: 177.1 It's time for more water, less salt, and more walking. I'm happy to report that my shoulder is making great improvements and my PT and Ortho nurse are both pleased with me. Tweaking my diet will help me make some more nudges downward. I've been inspired by those of you who have gotten into the 160s and…

This list includes a few more than 5 things, for sure! 14 times to India? Wow - I only remembered a handful of those. I guess I was in my own wee world for a few decades. My five things: 1. I wanted to go to India with the meditation group leader years ago to help establish schools and outreach clinics for women. 2. I…

@jugar CW 175.5 Happy Friday! Not that a day of the week makes any difference to me these days. Brief intro time: I live in Windsor, Vermont with my 3rd spouse, adult daughter, and 3 cats. I’m recuperating from rotator cuff surgery (8/23) and attempting to get a job which I can do from home, if at all possible. In my…

@jugar CW: 178.6 Little by slowly...good to see the scale nudge in a downward direction again! Heading out for a walk right now. It feels good to be inspired. Yahoo!

As is said in other places, "He's got his own higher power and it's not you." Quite right. My OH is 6'2" to my 5'2" and is a cook. They're also on female hormones (Transwoman) and the weight has begun to be difficult to lose...for them. It's *always* been hard for me to lose the darned stuff! At any rate, I've been losing…

@jugar CW 179.4 I know my normal day was Wednesday but I think I’d like to change to Fridays. OH put together ramen from a “kit” the other day, added veggies and home cooked chicken and supposedly “1-spoon of miso”. It was the saltier than the freeking ocean! Holy gazoly. I asked them to read the ingredients and couldn’t…
