If that's your photo in the avatar I would think you'd be below 20% based on muscle definition.
-
I just tried this calculator and I got 15.5% which is pretty much the same.
-
It depends on what you mean by junk food, some people might consider what I eat junk and others not. I eat dark chocolate everyday, I also eat croissant with butter, homemade milkshake with added sugar etc.. I don't if those are considered "junk".
-
In the morning before I eat, 2-3 times a week. My weight stats mostly the same.
-
Ok and have you noticed that I lift my legs at the end of my repetitions? Is it bad, should I keep my legs straight if I want to work my back muscles more? I heard it shifts the focus to the abdominal muscles when we lift our legs.
-
I don't know what this is, but a 30 inch waist at 6'2 is highly unusual :D
-
Yes so I lifted weights for 10 years from 15 to 25 years old before I suffered from a chronic shoulder tendonitis, due to my job but also because I was doing risky exercises such as the behind the neck press, upright rows, bench dips (with 200lbs on my knees). I was reckless to say the least. To tell you a bit about my…

@Chieflrg Do you do critiques on bodyweight exercises like pull ups? Gyms are closed and I can only do bodyweight exercises right now and I would like to have your feedback on the way i'm doing pull ups.
-
Same for me I have a 34" waist and i'm pretty lean, at least people around me say so.
-
I'm not interested in being extremely lean, i've experienced it in the past and it felt terrible. To me 12-14% is the sweet spot. But I find that I have a bigger waist than most people who are at my weight and body fat level. So i'm wondering if it's genetics. At least i've heard that it may be genetics. I actually have a…

Are you really suggesting that top level sprinters and NFL athletes are natural? You are a very naive person, and they are most likely 8-12% body fat not 6%. You get down to 6% and you tell me about your sex drive and energy levels, get back at me.
-
6-7% body fat is not healthy at all I don't know why you would want to get down that low.
-
The lowest ive ever got my waist was 31 inches and I was borderline underweight. Thats why im wondering if some people are just born with a bigger waist.
-
I can do that, it's not very easy though. It's easier when I raise my arms in front of my body. I was looking for ways to improve hip flexibility. What's the best way to increase flexibility in your opinion?
-
Yeah I just noticed the movement known as "jolting", no wonder I felt a lot of tensions in my elbows and forearms. I will start doing this exercise with the low handle and see how that goes. Cause I don't think i'm ready for squats yet. My brother has the same problem, he has hip impingement. I don't know for sure what I…
-
Sorry for the double post but here I was lifting 170lbs, which is exactly my bodyweight. I couldve done a lot more but i want just want to familiarize myself with the exercise.
-
@Chieflrg What do you think of my form on the trap bar deadlift? I haven't done this lift in 6 years, and I can't squat effectivly because of hip tightness. Just want to make sure i'm doing it correctly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzA-iD0YpRc

Can you even build substantial muscle mass with manual labor? I've worked pretty tough jobs, none of the people I worked with were particularly buff. Unless they did some type of training on the side.
-
Lifting weights :D ? Recently I started training again and to to gain muscle mass it's inevitable you will gain body fat as well. In fact the only times I got really fat in my life was when I was bulking and force-feeding to get stronger in the gym. Otherwise I don't struggle to stay relatively lean.

Don't you take into consideration fiber and the potential health benefits of phytic acid?
-
From what I saw phytates are antioxidants and have many benefits, i'm skeptical about limiting grains and other foods high in phytates. But for the vegans it may be a concern, and it seems they aren't told that a diet high in foods containing anti-nutrients could be detrimental. And then we have “health experts“ who…

I highly doubt you are 20% at that weight and height. I suggest you measure your waist, first thing in the morning. If the measurement is half your height in cm or inches you're good and probably below 20%.
-
If you look at construction workers in the United States for example they are more likely to be overweight and obese compared to white collar workers, even though they move a lot more in their daily occupation. I think nutrition is the biggest factor, and other factors have to be taken into account like socioeconomic…

This reminds me of an article I read a while back, it says that the average American man in the 19th century weighed just 137lbs or had a bmi of 20.5. It's crazy to think about. Now the average American man has a bmi of 29 or something. https://www.rehabs.com/explore/mens-body-image-and-bmi/

Im guessing you dont need that much testosterone, my brother was in the lower range as well and he was making decent strength gains. He was deadlifting over 400lbs and doing weighed chin ups with 45lbs.
-
Yes you're probably losing weight too quickly. I also had a drop in libido in my early twenties when I was in a fat loss phase, it's because I was cutting too quickly. If anything your libido should increase cause a high body fat percentage is detrimental to testosterone.
-
I lose weight faster when I eat carbs because foods that contain carbs also have fiber which is very filling maybe more so than protein, at least for me. I eat 50-60% carbs on average.
-
I don't know for sure what is my body fat %, I have a 34 inch waist at 5'9. I'm carrying body fat mostly in the lower back region. My brother for example is more thin but doesn't have visible ribs.
-
I always did it with the fingers forming a triangle. it seems I could lift more weights that way. At the end when it got really heavy I had to place something on my feet so I don't fall back with the dumbbell :D

Many years ago I had very severe body temperature issues at a bmi of 21, I was cold just staying in my appartment. And that's when I wasn't training or doing any physical activity. If you're cold all the time and have body temperature issues it's a sign you are not at a healthy weight. It can be misleading to say you are…
