Large pockets, that was funny.

Shaving your back and shoulders maybe, but legs? It's a bit weird. But I notice that the generation Z is very much into removing body hair.

Even barbend, the website that was linked here is saying that the dumbbell deadlift is more suited for hypertrophy. I also linked an article earlier that everyone should read. https://barbend.com/dumbbell-deadlift-benefits/

I'm also 5'9, i'm curious as to why your goal weight is 160lbs? What body fat percentage do you think you're going to be at that weight?
-
According to who? You can read this article as to why the barbell deadlift is not particularly great for hypertrophy : https://www.rntfitness.co.uk/deadlifts-overrated-muscle-building/

The deadlift is far from being the most effective exercise for your glutes. You don't deadlift for the sole purpose of training your glutes.
-
You don't need to deadlift at any age, the question is why do you deadlift and what is the goal behind it. If you want to train the movement just lift two dumbbells it's much more natural.

The duration of the study was 8 weeks not 3-10 days so it appears they aren't talking about the same study. Also it is well known that protein can decrease the sex hormone binding globulin SHBG, i've seen doctors talk about it on youtube.…

When I eat a very high fat meal and also high in protein it feels like my testosterone drops to zero afterwards. It's the contrary when I eat a high carb meal. Iv'e seen some studies saying that a higher carb intake can reduce cortisol and increase free testosterone.

I used to be that guy until the janitor who worked at the gym confronted me 🤣. And yes I agree, my life was not in order at that time.
-
I just dislike the gym in general nowadays. If you can have a home gym I don't know why you would not want to train at home. More freedom, less distraction, better concentration.

Great book by Doug Brignole, questioning the dogmas in the fitness industry.

For me, dairy and dark chocolate are the culprits. I've read online that too much calcium could cause constipation. I don't know what it is about dark chocolate but it makes it harder to go to the toilet.

I don't even know how to look at other people's diaries but mine is public.

It depends on how hard you push yourself, if you lift really heavy you will get some injuries it's almost inevitable. If you squat and deadlift with minimal weight sure you might not get injured, but why squat and deadlift in the first place if you don't plan on going heavy.
-
You can do a trap bar deadlift with dumbbells like this, it's much more of a natural movement : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdyp97SLrpI Just need two steps and dumbbells.
-
Just do a hack squat instead of smith machine squats. It's much better at targeting the quads if that's what you're looking for. Also why even deadlift? Everyone should ask themselves why they do certain exercises.

I don't like lunges or barbell squats. I prefer step ups on a bench, hack squats and dumbbell deadlifts.

3 days of heavy lifting, 1 day of supplemental work to target weak points.
