Great news, Brenda! Back to slayin it! 😄

Oh, yeah. Being busy helps heaps! I think that’s why weekends are tougher for me. So much of my leisure time revolves around food! 😄

Ha! No, I’m in marketing in a healthcare company. And the travel is a challenge but it’s totally worth it. Today was good! A successful fast without any hassles other than tummy not settling down, dammit. Anyway: tonight’s dinner from DS is a bit... overdone, let’s say. And the pic is woeful! But it was all super…

You’re amazing. I wish I was at that stage! The calorie counting is really tough for me and I don’t think I could be that disciplined every day.
-
Wow - that’s amazing commitment! Go on with your bad self!

Oh, jeez... the impatience, the impatience! Particularly feeling it this week. What’s really keeping me focused right now are the health benefits. I’m watching DH’s blood sugar normalising and I realise that although I’m not measuring (or indeed, at the stage he is/was at - yet) the same thing must be happening to me. My…

Maybe it’ll all just cancel each other out. 😄

Great start! And music is amazing for inspiration and motivation! Maybe be should start an inspiring/motivating music thread for when the going gets tough.

They’re stir-fried potatoes (pre-cooked or not - doesn’t matter) seasoned with soy, a little vinegar, a little chili oil, with a big spoonful of chili crisp mixed in at the end. If you love chilies, chili crisp is AMAZING.

Thank you! And oyyy I’m so tired! These early mornings are taking more getting used to than the first few days of OMAD! Sorry about the lack of participation, just need to check in. It was hot and I was a little grumpy so I had an ice cream on a stick. Didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would - go figure. - lamb chops…

Fabulous. Here’s to us all!
-
What - to remove it? Eek. If so I don’t blame you for that, it would be a major invasion and there’s no going back once it’s gone. How long before you know whether the iodine is working?

We all slip up because hey, we’re human. But you’re holding yourself accountable and starting again - that’s what counts. BTW - so THIS is your thread! I don’t know how I missed it. I’ll start reading from the beginning.
-
But it makes everything so delicious!... 😄

Thank you! And yeah... I don’t get an office in this building, alas - it’s all open with hot desks. That said, it is a stunning place with lots of places to get away to, including an edible garden, so I might just have to get the heck out when it gets too much.
-
Welcome back, Monica. I’m new myself so let’s OMAD together!
-
Back on it with a vengeance - you’ve got this!
-
LOL Steph! And thanks, everyone. No replies tonight - it was a full-on day with a 5.30am start and I’m wiped out. Sorryyyyyyy! Not an easy fast today. Lots of nervous energy because of the new job and my new team is huge; in my last team there was a maximum of 12 people in the office at any given time and lunches were…

I have one very slight, very muscular son, and a son and daughter who put weight on easily like me. Go figure! Anyway. This week’s progress: Absolutely STUNNED at the hip reduction (that’s usually the last thing to go on me), and confused at the little I lost around the waist, which is usually the first thing to go on me.…

No, but I am a migrant. I arrived here when I was very young, and always there’s that line to tread between being assimilated with the country culture and being assimilated with the family/country of birth culture. It’s a challenge! And I have a couple of halfie friends. One of them 27 years old and her mother’s side of…

Tonight’s Sunday roast dinner (which I wasn’t able to finish): - Roast chicken - Potato bake - Sautéed veggies - Half a slice of DH’s most excellent spelt bread (not pictured) I’m measuring myself tomorrow. I’m a mixture of curious, nervous and excited!
-
Ohhh that's no good. Take it easy, OK? Luckily bone broth is good for all that ails you!
-
Thanks, Joe! I'm on it. And thanks for the promise - I'm relying on it. Ha! Well, I start my new job in a couple of days and it's 3x the commute, so there will be a lot more DH-cooked meals and they might be a little more basic! Although... not necessarily because we are now putting LOTS of leftovers in the freezer…

It’s really tough tuning out your parents; more so when there’s a cultural difference. Because even though you know there’s another way to be, that culture is also part of who you are, and you understand that for that side of the family, that’s the only way they know how to be. So there are no easy answers to this. You’ve…

Didn’t notice any! Just looking at what everyone has to rather than how they say it, if you know what I mean.

And onto today’s food accountability. A TV dinner to celebrate two completely different things: lunar new year, and the life of Monty Python genius Terry Jones, who passed away a few days ago. So we watched a few eps of that while demolishing: - Steamed pork buns - Korean cheese corn - Korean lettuce salad Oh - also had a…

Oh, wow Steph, everything you said - THANK YOU! I’m really keen to change my mindset here and so far so good. One thing I was able to do last night (and it was late by the time we ate!) was stop the desperate shovelling. Despite the stressful day, despite my desire to eat ALL THE SUGAR, and despite being hungry, I ate at a…

Amaaaazing loss! Go, you! Plus lots of cuteness to look at - love it.

I lived on 12 acres for 15 years - loved it, and it was great for the kids, but never again! Happy being back in the city. 😊
-
Thanks for the positive vibes, everyone - I appreciate them! Feeling much better today. These kids went up and down our street night before last. One of our neighbours had two of his cars sprayed on all four sides. The convenience shop across from us has cameras so we hope they got them! If ever you want me to pick a…
