Vaccines are not stopping the spread. So, If you're afraid then vaccinate. Just don't impose your fear on me. If I get sick I'll stay home.

Look at those 11's! 👀

Not American. I would like to create challenges I can share with my MFP friends. The changes offered are. not terribly motivating to me.

I think many people believe they are going to be friends and encourage and receive encouragement. Many fail, drop off MFP, come back and then leave again. You can limit the number of friends to just the active ones or have lots of inactive people that started an account and aren't there anymore. MFP can be used without…

Enjoy the journey. The app is only as good as what you put into it.

I too was always hungry. Look into satiating foods. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/15-incredibly-filling-foods#TOC_TITLE_HDR_4 I chose Greek yogurt. oatmeal and cottage cheese.

How accurate are you going to be? If you are estimating don't eat them. If you are weighing your food and tracking everything eat them.

5% cream Good quality beans don't need sweetener Smaller portion and tada you are there.

Lean to me, for guys starts at 15% BF. For ladies it's trickier I would say at below 25% some ladies can look lean. 15 and below is ripped for a lady. I like myself ripped at 10% and was super happy with my appearance sub 10 but was not able to maintain there at 48 years old. Qualifier, My measurements were relative to…

Awesome. Congrats!

I think I understand what you mean... I would perhaps qualify it. Is the shape you are referring to a result of muscle or fat. Lots of powerful people have thick legs. Saddlebags sounds a bit like weight you are carry around. It is impossible to tell from your pic which is which so no judgment from me. Just a thought. I…

Way to go T! Just amazing what you accomplished.

Why do we do anything? 1 Because we want to 2 Because we have to Want is better. Enjoy the process or enjoy the results. Pick one and lock in. For me it's results. I want to be able to play with my kids and eventual grandkids. And I mean really play. 65 years old waterskiing, downhill skiing. My Dad could not and I refuse…

I hate to over-simplify this but it really is this.* Less fat - put yourself in a caloric deficit. * More muscle - stimulate the recovery repair process by putting your muscles into progressive overload. Essentially you can build muscle when leaning out, at maintenance or while bulking. I am 49 and not interested in…

Keep going!

I exercise for fun

Well if you were losing and have plateaued you have a few options. 1. Wait it out 2. Increase caloric deficit 3. increase cardio 4. maybe you need to build some muscle 5. Check your macros

Great read and congratulations! I would say the tool certain makes it fun and even easier. But you must choose to use it. This sentence stuck out for me. You determined, decided, and went out and found a way to do it. "I really got serious in August 2019 when my son started expressing interest in going to Northern Tier, a…

What kind of supplements? If you mean vitamins then yes I take those. If you mean testosterone and such nah I don't bother. A lot can be done with regular exercise, good nutrition and portion sizes.
-
Could I suggest, slower instead of harder? I found I had to be less drastic with my food portions (a slight deficit so my body didn't go into self protection mode) and more patient with building strength and endurance.

All steady state cardio except skating and jumping rope. Cardio machines are really boring.
-
Make your goals actions that support your goals not the results. Celebrate doing the right things. Meaure results less frequently.
-
@hct3d Yep that's the recipe. My transformation took 4 years with gradual progression in intensity and effort. Staying in a weekly caloric deficit is the key. Cardio burns excess calories. Build muscle to burn fat when you are at rest.

Moderation is the key. But sometimes we need to go cold turkey to teach ourselves who is boss. You know yourself best.
