Hi everyone. I'm not new to MFP, returning after months of being away. Thought I could do this on my own but didn't do so well. I'm 63, 5'2" and weigh 214 lbs. My goal is 140. 2019 was a tough year due to personal and medical reasons and the COVID-19 pandemic sure didn't help! I lost my job due to a shoulder replacement…

Weigh-in day, didn't do too good this week. PW: 198.2 CW: 200.3 We've had grandkids this week so I haven't been doing too good on my healthy eating. I was expecting a gain so I'm not too stressed about it but definitely need to get back on the weight loss wagon.

Here's my Sunday weigh-in PW: 202 CW: 198.2 Yea I've met my first mini goal of getting out of the 200's! Next mini goal is to be under 195.

My husband still hasn't been able to eat much due to having to have 2 teeth cut out. He's been in so much pain. I've been just snacking around instead of cooking meals. I've got to stop doing that! But I feel guilty eating in front of him☹️. I'm hoping to be able to start walking this week. I don't won't to jump in to…

@eapar507 i hear you. I went on keto a year ago, I lasted 4 months before I quit lol. Heck eating 1 banana would use up all my carbs for the day! I never realized that fresh vegetables and fruits had carbs. But like I said, I only lasted 4 months before realizing there was no way I could stick to something that strict for…

I've been reading some posts in the forums, I get so much motivation reading the success stories. I've decided to start watching my carbs and protein. I'm not going on keto or LCHF, those are too strict for me especially keto! I've decided to keep my carbs below 100g a day, raise my protein and keep my fat reasonably low.…

I've decided I'm going to start paying attention to my carbs and protein. I'm not doing keto or LCHF, that's too strict but if I can keep my carbs below 100g a day and keep my protein high enough maybe that'll help me to fill fuller for longer periods of time. I'm getting all kinds of ideas by reading some of the posts in…

I've been giving myself pep talks all day 😉. I went shopping and got healthy snack items...snack size beef jerky sticks, low fat Greek yogurt, low fat cheese, some fresh fruit and Parmesan crisps. I've been hearing a lot about cauliflower rice. It's suppose to be a healthier alternative to white rice. Has anyone tried it?…

@daydrem_dw its a little of all those things. It started with hurting my back. I was in so much pain I could barely walk. Before that, I was doing great. I was feeling good about myself being able to workout and stuff but once I got knocked down I started to turn to food for comfort (old habit). I've been trying to work on…

Ever since I hurt my back I've been kind of in a slump and having trouble shaking it off. What do y'all do to over come something that sets you back? I'm really struggling with this.

Wow, 50.62 lbs in 5 months is awesome! Congratulations!! I've been looking at purchasing a Fitbit. There's so many different kinds, what kind do you have? Years ago I got the kind that clips to your clothes somewhere, I think that was when they were first getting started lol. I actually found it the other day but I can't…

Really blew it today ☹️. I stayed below my calories BUT didn't eat too good. Was busy just about all day and DH had to have a couple teeth cut out so his mouth/jaw is hurting and he didn't feel like eating anything so, instead of cooking just for myself I had a sandwich, chips and dip for lunch then some ice cream with…

Thank you for the advice. I may try playing around with my macros. I'm not even sure what MFP set them at. My husband loves to snack around so there's always something tempting ☹️. I like your suggestions on snacks, next time I go shopping I need to pick up some beef jerky and Greek yogurt.

Hi everyone. I was looking through the forums on MFP and saw your group. I'm looking for accountability and motivation and after reading some of your posts decided this is exactly what I need. I'm 62, 5'2" and was at 205.2lbs in June when I came back to MFP. In July I got down to 203.4. I weigh-in on Sunday's, last Sunday…

Does everyone go by the calories that MFP sets for you or do you set your own? I go by what MFP set for me, 1200 a day. That seems to be the norm for most females lol.

I'm glad the pain is getting better! Prayers for a speedy recovery!
-
@eapar507 how is your shoulder? I hope you were able to get some help with your pain.

Awww how cute. I miss my grand kids being little, my youngest one just turned 13 (doesn't seem like she should be a teenager) seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.

I can see why you're so proud. They are good looking boys!

WooHoo congratulations🎉🥳🎉 That's awesome!

The project I was working on (getting a garden spot ready) has been put on hold for now. I also have a couple flower beds that I need to thin out so need to get some new beds made so I can transplant some. I've got a unfinished quilt I've been thinking about pulling out and working on, I'd like to get it finished. That's…

I'm sorry you're going through this. I know how painful shoulder pain can be. I had to have a complete shoulder replacement about 2 years ago due to a nasty fall. It's miserable! Took me almost 9 months to be able to move or do anything with that arm without being in pain. Have you tried the hot/cold treatment? I was told…

Good morning friends 👋 Here's my weigh-in ... PW: 201.6 CW: 202.0 Not as bad as I was thinking it would be, but I definitely need to work on my emotional eating! I'm doing ok on the smoking. Since Aug 1st I've gone from smoking a pack a day to half a pack a day. Lots of baby steps... Don't have a exercise plan in place for…
