I have a Trek Hybrid and ride almost on a gravel type of trail (see pic above). Type of tires matter a little. Personally, your locally owned bike shop can help a great deal. That's where I went.

I originally joined in 2014. Lost 50+lbs (too much actually) in about 5-6 months. I have kept within my maintenance range since. Since 2015 I come and go from here as I feel necessary or inspired to do so. I only come back to log for about a month if I feel I need to check in, so logging long-term has not been 'my thing'.…

Using a desktop browser (for me anyways) - Click on the user’s name - a new dialog window opens up - Click user name within that window - it takes you to the users main page - Click on “Add as Friend” button on the user’s main page - That person will get a new friend request notice which allows them to accept or decline

This is almost identical to my situation and approach as well.

Running, Rowing, Biking and Jump Roping.

I have the "get lean" and get "strong set". Pricey but worth it (at least for me).

I put it all on by the time I was 48 and took it all off (approx 50lbs) by the time I was 49. Been holding steady for 5 years. You can make it happen!

I have a Garmin watch. It seems to be fairly accurate. At least, accurate enough for me. Monthly actual progress = 197.75 miles / Monthly Goal = 100 miles 5/2 - 22 miles 5/5 - 22 miles 5/13 - 25 miles 5/16 - 26.5 miles 5/17 - 30.5 miles 5/20- 22 miles 5/22 - 22.75 miles 5/24 - 27 miles

I have the same set. As a relative newbie to the activity, I found the set much easier to get going with as compared to a generic set I picked up a couple years ago. They are not cheap, but I figure with the amount I jump, they should last me many years. I also picked up a jump rope mat (not crossropes) and that has been…

I have crossropes too and really like them. A tad expensive but they are good quality. Hope you are finding things to improve with practice.

Another bump. I'm looking for interactive friends as well. Feel free to add.

I've just begun jumping and am slowly making my way.

First 'official' ride for this year was done 2 days ago - 22 miles. Goal for the month is 100 miles.

Most times I try to think of nothing. I try to use it as a time to clear my head. I don't listen to anything other than traffic to ensure I don't get hit. My phone and all other entertainment sources remain home. My Garmin tells me what I want to know when I am done.

I'm in for May. Not sure of my target yet but I will create one soon.

Good point. Fear definitely drove me for a while for the reason you mention. Eventually, I became my own worse enemy. Developing a formula that works for you is going to be the key. Some generic thoughts which can change 'stuff'.. are you going to continue to log? (which I recommend until you narrow things in, at the very…
