  • Just turned 53 a little over a month back. Can stand to be doing better nutrition wise, but doing pretty good these days at maintaining. I hit 177 last year(actually hit 169 / intense sweaty run, but hydrated back to normal weight). It seems that my body wants to stay between 178-185. I’m 6 ft , but folks assume I’m…
  • Had these last night. Leftovers from grilling earlier this week: Reheated portobello caps with fresh 🥑 and a little tobasco
  • Same here. I still fall back to walking on occasion when old injuries flare up.
  • Congrats to all… This is me these days… I take off my watch when I sleep if not I’ll get a good amount of alerts as I regularly can be under 40 bpm for over 10 mins. After workouts my heart rate will drop fairly quick after 1-3 mins. Typical avg. drop is 15-20 I drop 25-50. Not alarmed as I’ve had full work up. Had my…
  • Grilled a few portobellos a few days ago. My dinner tonight. I sprayed a pan with some olive oil to reheat the shrooms. I weighed the Misto before and after. .03 of an oz is all I used. Pretty sure 7 oz is not going to mess me up. The wagyu sausage I had before shrooms well that’s a different story. 😂
  • If I do load up before a run I keep it light with 5 oz of Greek yogurt with 5-7 oz of fresh fruit(cherries, mango, pineapple usually) and maybe 10 oz(half of my morning serving) of coffee or a 12 oz Celsius I’m good to go and it shouldn’t affect my run. To heavy an preload and I’ll feel it. However it’s not a set rule…
  • Yup that’s the one I own. I use oil very sparingly. The pan already is a special type and strictly use the little bit of oil for browning some onions before adding the full load like vegetables protein etc..
  • I don’t since I use so little. I have an oil pump spray. You pump it creates pressure and like aerosol spray I just do a quick mist. I may way the pump one of these days but I would say it’s a very minute amount.
  • Closest I do and I guess it’s an energy drink is Celsius. I go for a few of the sparkling versions. Arctic Blue, Apple/Pear and Lemon Lime are my usuals. Even though they have claims of health I only drink for the bubbles and flavor. I’ll on occasion use as recommended which is drink one 30 mins before a workout. However I…
  • That it has been. I’m a Saucony “wh or e”. Specifically I am into the Kinvara line. I like light shoes since I enjoy feeling the road. I started with ver. 12, but I really dig the latest ver. 14. I think I’m up to 10 pairs. I still have a few of the previous versions in rotation. Reason I have so many as you see in the pic…
  • Hey looks that for the last 2 years you had found what worked for you. Try to distress a bit from the recent changes you’re dealing with and slowly get back on track with what you were doing as it seems that it was getting it done. As a few have pointed out diets is not usually the best suited for long term success and…
  • Here I am in 2019 around same day as todays pic. Waiting at dealership to get fw update on car and get the usual things that come along with oil and what have you maintenance. Things have been going pretty good. I could be better about my overall nutrition, but I won’t complain on what I know I need to fix. After a pretty…
  • @mrmota70 What an amazing story. I know I'm way behind in your journey. I'm looking forward to catching up. This part about food logging and planning hit home. What I know is that when I do it I have success, when I don't my fitness and weight go out the window. It's both the actual food I'm eating, and the commitment to…
  • Thank you for the kind words…
  • Looks like you have a sound plan. I have a similar outlook on running as you’ve stated. I use to always pay attention to the neigh sayers aka running detractors.. injuries, boring, doing intervals(HITT) is better blah blah blah. I’ve decided to each their own. The fact that I can run again after taking off 20+ years and…
  • Waited until end of the of the day. 5 mile treadmill run. A cider soon afterwards. And drinks still be flowing..
  • Austin Eastciders, Sangria and some grunge on you tube.
  • https://youtu.be/M1N_wbhAfQ4 Play it loud. Cheers 🍻
  • Ha I’ve done this. Ran around the lake stopped the watch and realized daumn inside run selected. 🤬 like someone else replied you know what you did and so does the body.
  • 🪦 to all the folks that COVID got, but as soon as lockdown was looking like it was coming I decided to get situated to not make an excuse why I couldn’t/wasn’t at the gym. I already had a Precor elliptical for about 10 years and decided I needed a tread with weight capacity for me at that time. My Sole has served me well.…
  • Maybe try tracking by choosing “functional strength training”. Choose Functional Strength Training when performing dynamic strength sequences for the upper body, lower body, or full body, using small equipment like dumbbells, resistance bands, and medicine balls or with no equipment at all.
  • I’d recommend applying a little biofreeze(gel is best I think) before your walks on your ankles and maybe where foot is not feeling good. I sometimes do the whole foot if needed. Depending on your speed slow it down and definitely don’t use incline. Wait a bit more to strengthen up before faster inclined walks. Also put…
  • [quote=“ I have upped my avocados, strawberries, bananas and tea @mrmota70 though I'm not sure what benefit I am looking for. I have 4 pairs of shoes now @Lietchi and they are trail shoes to take my extra weight, all the same model. Two are new with zero miles thanks to my son. I have a separate pair for walking and a…
  • Foo Fighters, Ramones, Gorillaz, Chris Cornell(solo and all band incarnations), Tron Legacy Reconfigured, Tom Petty, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Die Antwood
  • I second that. I believe yours is the Teeter one. Mine is similar to yours. If it had an engine I’d be doing some demolition driving.
  • I order usually a small bowl of Tom Yum soup with chicken(basically Thai chicken soup/Thai ingredients of course). If you’re getting it as take out and have an avocado(some good fat) handy I’d recommend to cube half of one and put into the soup. My usual Thai place knows me so don’t mind when I bring my precubed avocado…
