  • Round 213 Hi all! Starting back with these challenges. I’m a Mom of 2, in my 40s, and just diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Trying to make some healthy changes. OSW: 215.5 213 SW: 211.8 GW: 165 2/1 – 210.5 – Looks like I shed a lot of water weight yesterday. The new thyroid meds and low-sodium diet have been helping me…
  • Bookmarking and joining in this round!
  • So far so good with my new meds. I do seem to have some heartburn and occasional light headaches but I don't know if it's related. I'm intentionally going to bed a little earlier - that plus the meds seems to really help with the fatigue. I have adopted the "take the meds when I get up to pee in the middle of the night"…
  • @yirara I hate cleaning time as well so that might be a welcome side-effect for me :D It doesn't appear I have Hashimoto's. I'm so sorry you have to go through that roller coaster of hormone levels :'(
  • Yes, absolutely, and the pharmacist too. They were both very clear.
  • @SafariGalNYC Lowering the water retention has already made me feel so much better. It's amazing how much we can hold onto @AnnPT77 Thank you for the link to that thread - it was very helpful! It was useful to have that member debunk alot of the information I've been seeing that was raising red flags for me (ie. the…
  • Becoming a Mom definitely made weight maintenance much more difficult. Less time for working out, less sleep leading to "hungry-snacking", and as puffbrat mentioned - grazing on my kids' leftovers (I'm looking at you, grilled cheese crusts...) My older is 10, younger is 8, and I'm still trying to figure this out.…
  • I'm eating Mediterranean as well. I feel really good eating this selection of foods, but I'm on MFP to make sure I don't go overboard and I'm still able to lose weight. Welcome!
  • I've recently discovered overnight oats using thick rolled oats, almond milk, greek yogurt, and honey. Super convenient to just pull out of the fridge and eat when I'm having a hard time waking up 😆
  • I'm also on the Mediterranean diet. Mainly I'm seeking inspiration for new meals and a group/resource to go to when I have questions.

  • Thank you so much! I'm finally at a place where I can take a breath so now I have some time and energy to focus on health 💖
  • 8:15am - Breakfast of eggs and potatoes with a little cheese and salsa For steps, I made printed out a spreadsheet to help breakup my daily steps into hourly goals. 1000 steps per hours for 10 hours - starting at 8am and ending at 6pm (so I can collapse and rest at the end of the day) 11:30am Lunch - Turkey and Cheese…
  • Sunday Update: I didn't quite make my goals for today. It's stunning how quickly I can fall out of a routine. It was a busy day of filming, packing orders, writing on Chapter 4, laundry and prepping for the kids' schooling this week. Not alot of time left to get steps in, but that's an every-Sunday challenge. I ate…
  • Good morning everyone! Sorry for my silence this week. To say the week has been stressful and emotional is an understatement. Not alot of sleep, lots of coffee, eating what I want and just not making the time a single bit rougher than it had to be. But... I feel better now. Relieved. Despite all of the anxiety I channeled…
  • Yesterday the effects of the time change and allergies had me drifting through the day. I got all my work done by sheer willpower. I did manage to get in my goals. Texas is in the season of back-and-forth. One day warm, one day chilly. It's hard to know how to dress, or weather we'll need the heater or AC. And this…
  • Halloween Saturday went okay. I wasn't back on track as I'd hoped. Maybe too much to ask for Halloween? I didn't get my steps because TOM cramps and back pain. And we had a spontaneous Halloween rice krispie treat project... and I ate some. I expect better tomorrow. Luckily I'm maintaining right now rather than gaining.
  • I'm feeling much better today. Halloween is a pick-me-up and the whole family has animal onesies that we're snuggling in all day. Yesterday my husband suggested that I sleep in while he handled the kids' schooling. That was super nice and really helped. I treated yesterday like a Saturday and relaxed and ignored all of my…
  • Day 141 (Thursday) I woke up today still tired. Feeling lethargic, unmotivated, dragging myself through tasks, feeling down, and just wanting to lay in a quiet, dark room for the day. Ahhhhh, I see. Depression. This week has been hard and likely has something to do with that TOM, election anxiety, the change in the…
  • Day 140 (Wednesday) New Low! 172.4 lbs LTD 23.8 Lbs to go = 7.4! Good thing I had a whoosh today. Today was a rough one because I had the absolute worst night of sleep (on top on that TOM). There was one wake up because of a child's bad dream, but generally my brain would just NOT settle down. I was trapped in thought all…
  • ROUND 130 I’m a 5’ 8”, 45 yo Mom of 2 young ones. The lockdown had me squeaking toward 200, so I knew I had to start taking better care of myself! Original SW: 196.2 lb (6/11/20) GOAL Weight: 165 lb Total weight loss to date: 22.3 lb 8.9 lbs to go! R121: -3.1 lb✔️ R122: -1 lb ✔️ R123: -.2 lb ✔️ R124: -3.4 lb ✔️ R125: -1.2…
  • Day 139 (Tuesday) I nearly forgot to get all my steps in because I was so busy at my desk all day. I guess it's a blessing that I'm so into what I'm doing that time slips away and not even fighting kids can distract me :D I wore my tight leggings today to make sure I was reminded not to graze that extra chip or cracker…
  • Day 138 (Monday) Although I managed my goals this day, I had very little motivation most of the day. I got through all of the schooling and work tasks pretty slowly. I wasn't tired or depressed, but just.... blah. I'd have rather been on the couch reading all day. It could be that the Fall weather is finally settling in…

  • Day 137 (Sunday) Some days are so very similar I feel I could copy/paste them. Suffered from poor sleep last night (maybe 4 hours?), but still had so much to do. Had to get all those tasks done before school starts on Monday. At least I did end the day feeling productive and had a good evening of relaxation. Early to bed!…

  • @kcd394 BIG HUGS! I'm so sorry you're having to work the non-stop hours you are. I really hope that vacation eases your migraines. Sometimes those great breakdowns are good for us, because they show exactly where are tipping point is and shines a light on changes we need to make. @thelastnightingale Ahhhh yes, imposter…
  • Day 135 (Friday) New Low!! 173.9! Lost-to-Date = 22.3 lbs Lbs-to-go = 8.9 I slept pretty well again last night so I made it through Friday without (too many) thoughts of throwing out my diet. I am so glad for it to be done though, because that means all the errands and chores are done for the day and tomorrow I can sleep…

  • Day 134 (Thursday) New Low!! 174.4! Lost-to-Date = 21.8 lbs Lbs-to-go = 9.4 Whooo!! I finally feel rested! I took some Benedryl and actually slept through the whole night after I managed to go to sleep. What a difference uninterrupted sleep makes! I don't want to make Benedryl a habit, but when I do resort to it - it is…
